Let’s not act like his injury didn’t change up history. Westbrook, Harden, Curry, Kyrie, and whoever else didn’t wanna see D Rose. If that injury didn’t happen, he’d have some of those accolades that some of these players have now.

if he never got injured, Steph wouldn't have broken out the way he did because Rose as another superstar. The game might not have shifted so heavily to 3's like it did, or at least not as fast

    • @datpoint

@@holdmyweight3597 it’s not overrate when the whole league says the exact same thing. No injuries, Rose literally would’ve had a better career whether he won a couple of championships or not. It gave me tons of memorable, legendary plays and also robbed me of being able to watch these athletes fully develop into what they were supposed to be. I think the mere fact that DRose was doing work in the gym, perfecting his finishing ability and his jumpshot, makes me think that even if the league had transition to 3 point shooting, he would still dominate hadn't been for injuries. One testament to that is seeing what Ja is doing right now. Steph and Kyrie could still be a top 2 and 3 because of their skillset, but DRose would be number 1 no question cause the things he kept on improving on as the season progressed during his prime.

True. But he was really about 6'2", but barely (he measured 6''1.5" without and 6'2.5" with shoes at the combine). That's still taller than most regular folks though.

the problem is that people who didn't watch and live his MVP season will look now at the stats and see 25ppg and 8apg and say that wasn't special, because of today inflated stats, but back then not many players averaged over 25, today it's like 30 players averaging that because of spacing and shooting threes... But that season I remember he took his team on his back, while Noah, Deng and Boozer were missing some games because of injuries. And Rose went against some of the greatest teams in recent memory like the Heat, Spurs, OKC, Boston, Pacers with no fear

D rose was the very very last little bit of competition nba. I see no person in the league rn that not only can carry an average team to success but also take on all challenges nd a will to prove to the doubters wrong. No friend shit on the court the all star where he was lookin at them crazy says a lot.

Rose played only 2 really great seasons before the injury, scratching the surface of his prime. Yet he's respected by everyone in the league like he won a couple of championships.. It speaks volumes.

I would say that Rose might have started the dominant point guard theme in some ways. Westbrook was showing that earlier in his career. Rose was very good in his prime. I do feel that at the time he was amongst the top 10 players, from 2009-2010 to 2011-2012, possibly.
