This man was quiet for a reason. He’s a thinker. I truly appreciate him even more!
Facts
🤜🏽💥🤛🏽
You could tell when he played that he was smart.
right something always drew me towards d rose besides his talent I never quite knew what it was but hearing him explain his story from his perspective is not only inspiring but humbling and makes me want to learn as much as I can about my self and other things my favorite pg of all time
I always knew Rose had game.
Bro, this man deserves to be in the hall of fame off the strength of the talent, skill, and impact he had in such a short time before getting injured. This man was unstoppable even today you can still see flashes of his greatness. D. Rose thank you for what you have brought to the NBA. I appreciate you bro and so do many others.
I think so too!
Facts
If the NBA hof was like the mlb hof naw he doesn't get it but he's getting in the NBA hof so dont worry
Youngest mvp ever stamped That
he will be in the HOF calm down kids
I've never heard D Rose talk this much in his entire career and be this transparent. Kudos to Math Hoffa who's running laps around these other Hip Hop podcasts with great conversations and great guests.
Bro!!!!!!! This dude never talks to anybody!!!! I still can't believe this shit over the last few days.
He couldn’t be himself. I think if he showed his raw authentic side, people would’ve created this fucked up image about him.
It's called being comfortable around the right group of people. No way d 🌹 would be this comfortable on ESPN or NBA tv. 💯💯
Crazy, I posted same exact comment 1st clip they posted of DRose
D ROSE A MOOR‼️
One of the greatest PGs I've ever seen, and he hadn't even reached his prime before his injury. Glad to hear he's making legacy moves. Inspirational for real.
Respectfully him Curry and Ja morant I think is the best we seen so far in the modern era of ball.
@@karithema9ician657 Sounds about right to me.
Lmao!!!!!! Shiddddddd. Look up the combine numbers for all the modern guards he was in the combine with.. Like John wall, etc..And look at D roses. He was faster and jumped higher than all of them. Plus he was the youngest MVP in NBA history!!!!!!!!! I'd he didn't get injured. It's safe to say a for sure hall of famer. Ist ballot. And he was better than both of the guards you mentioned before his injury!!!! Facts!!!!!
@@karithema9ician657 Ja good af but haven't won nothing yet. Can't throw him in that category. If he got hurt and never played another minute he wouldn't be remembered for anything at this moment 🤷🏾♂️
@@youngtrill9745 He actually would tho bro 🤦🏾♂️👀😂😂 his stats CRAZY and he’s the ONLY walking highlight…. And he barely 6’2” . If Ai and Rose still get talked about and they only had like 3-4 Legendary seasons than Ja is on his way and he’s doing at a rapid pace. He deserve the respect
When D Rose got injured it hurt my heart. This dude was definitely HOF. But this is a great interview cause he shows how much it’s bigger than ball. He created a tremendous legacy for his family. Good luck D. Rose, one of my favorites.
Facts
When AD gets Injured I shake my head in disappointment, when D rose gets Injured I get emotional.
Yep.. as a long time Bulls fan it was so hard watching Rose get hurt and most importantly because Rose was arguably the top 3 of this generation without injuries, the potential he had was incredible.
@matthew Mann that is crazy cause it true and I root for both of em since they’re from the Chi!

Cats like mArshawn beast mode and rose, are great thinkers its just their delivery on the everyday fits us cats who don't necessarily try to make the other side comfortable. It doesn't mean we don't have the smarts yell
Derrick Rose never gave up, never backed down, went through the struggle and pain and is still standing. That’s a Hall of Famer in my book

When I heard him say he wanted to be MVP before the 2011 season, I thought he was crazy. Dude literally carried Chicago and beat Lebrons Heat 3 times that season with the best record in the League

Being from Chicago, I hope he comes back after retirement or before, and spit more of this to the youth. They really need him and people like him. Maybe that would help their minds.
Chicago has no hope. They all wanna drill opps & smoke packs
He just took Simeon basketball team to Senegal over the summer he’s always worked with the youth

Respect to Rose.....his search for knowledge and truth is commendable man. I have a deeper respect for his journey and the man even more. I think he truly will be even more remembered for the things he did off the court as much as he did on when we see his whole journey in totality. Salute to Math for allowing rose to tell his story.
D. Rose found himself and that is more beautiful than his illustrious NBA career.
His impact will be greater than anything he's done on the court as time goes on. He probably wouldn't be this person had he not gone through he what he did, which would've destroyed a lot of people. Shows how much substance he has. Salute.

Just seeing Drose do an interview makes me feel some type of way man . This guy been my fav player since he came into the league man . I never gave up on him even after injury after injury after injury 🐐🌹
This made me feel content of his career after years of always thinking what if. This gave me that closure. Rather that thinking what he couldve been, i can appreciate his accomplishments in that short time. And just accept it for what it is

Also the things he learned and the path he walks now. Wouldn’t of happened (like the way he thinks now) if he didn’t get hurt. God had a different direction for him and worked good out of something bad; even if it was evident in his life in the timing he wanted.

Love DRose. Made me literally drop tears when he wasn't the same because of the injury. I'm happy to hear him talk this much about it and that he's been so mentally strong about what happened. The world lost a gift along with him when he lost that explosive & graceful athleticism like when musicians die too young. Imagine the music never made and heard, imagine the highlights never made and the roar of the crowd never heard. His highlights pre-injury are up there with anybody's All-Time and in such a short window a lot like undefeated Mike Tyson, Gale Sayers, Bo Jackson, even Barry Sanders since he retired early. It makes me so sad even watching them now but I'll still show them to the new kids and blow their minds when they see them. He was like undefeated Mike Tyson as a PG on the court, like Bruce Lee as a PG, like if the same heart that sparked that fire in Michael Jordan was possessing Rose and he could only go as hard as possible on every play as if to keep the flames behind him with his speed and athletic abilities. I miss that Rose so much. He let fans' imagination flow and think the impossible was possible every time he was on the floor. I'm so happy he had Joakim Noah with him during their glory years and the tough times since their brotherhood was inspirational to see.
You always tell from his eyes that he had a lot to say & THIS SHOW IS BETTER THAN THERAPY

Youngest MVP ever, multiple playoff appearances, he has a case for HOF. Under appreciated after his injury
He'll make the HOF. Most people think if you aren't a 1st ballot HOF you can't be inducted. As far as appreciation, I agree. Folks minimize how special he was. This Derrick Rose I'm seeing is a beautiful sight.
he’s first ballot . he’s literally the youngest mvp, and lead a team of below average players to the playoff multiple years straight.
@KingJad I think so too but I'm biased. I was just talking about the people that think there's absolutely no way he'll be inducted.
Being from Chicago and just witnessing D.Rose journey from HS to now has been amazing. He the 🐐 from Chicago to me. Over everybody else.
Rose ain't never talked like this glad y'all got this platform
This man literally got me into basketball. I saw him play and was absolutely hooked. 9th grade after school I came straight home to watch drose (mvp season). He became and still is my favorite player and why the bulls are my team. I couldn’t dribble a basketball or even lay up and I would go to the park to play and practice. It’s been 12 or 13 years and my iq, love and skills at the game have come a long way. Would say I, still pretty average or slightly above it tbh but the people, friends , memories I have made has got to be thanks to him. He changed me from a baseball player to a hooper fr👍🙌
I like how they just let him talk
Bruh. Derrick rose is right on point. So true. The worst thing I hear when someone tells me something and I ask where'd you get that from and they say " I heard". Our history as humans has been manipulated for control racism and classism . Keep it going Derrick on your wisdom journey .

First we need to start giving Math Hoffa his props for all his interviews and by far this was one of my favorite. It’s a lot of brothers out there that found out late about finding the information your self and coming up with your on speaking points Great interview boss.
One of the best podcast. Not saying it’s the best but it has levels. It can give you a million dollars worth of game. You can drink like drink champs. But then you get that The Shop vibe like Lebron be doing. It’s conversation and venting

This is a testament to who Derrick Rose is as a man. Hooping is so second nature to him, that he can put his energy into his family and community at zero cost. And he's STILL sick with the rock!
I was so gutted for d rose and his career, but since he said he found himself as a result of the injuries, I’m happy. He got his dough, he got his MVP and now he’s got himself. Love.

Most driven and dedicated PG I've ever watched. 6'1" in height but this man is a GIANT. Top 3 PG in basketball history
6’3
He's 6'3 and definitely not a top 3 or even top 10 point guard. Im a bulls fan, Rose is one of the greatest "what if's" in sports history. But he is not a better PG than Magic/Thomas/Stockton/Paul/Kidd/Curry/Robertson/Nash/Westbrook/Iverson/Lilliard/Harden/Fraizer
Not top 3.

@@NoSnowFlakes1 better than Westbrook for sure.
This why you don’t see certain players like Drose or Kyrie doing interviews with ESPN like that. Because they see through the bullshit they want to talk about real shit instead of the fake shit. I can relate when I kept going through break ups it left me to a point to want to learn more about life seeking for wisdom and knowledge it lead to a point I realized God's word is the real wisdom this world is so messed up it teaches to go against God's standards how we treat one another how we live our lives when we feel something is missing and being down and depressed..having your life set on a foundation will take you far Jesus Christ can change your life he will take away anything empty going on in the inside of you and make you whole! Repent and accept Lord Jesus into your life he died for your sins and he is the only way to heaven this world will pass away one day! Jesus loves you!
I really appreciate what D Rose said concerning the "circus," and especially what it can mean for many underprivileged and colored people. So many just see a successful black person at face value, but few really look into what got that person to that point. They don't see the "interests" that inspired those people, the hard work and perseverance they showed while it seemed that life itself was against them, and most often, the faith in God, New Testament values, and embrace of American capitalism and opportunity that guided them to that point. Instead of focusing on the major failures and atrocities committed by past white America and the black community's "victimhood," we need to focus on and apply the victories and successes of underprivileged individuals for the sake of those living today, while still understanding and learning from the horrors of the past and present. Additionally, we cannot rely on others to help us rise up, as Frederick Douglass, former slave and emancipation activist, stated in his 1859 "Self-Made Men" speech: "the man who will get up will be helped up; and the man who will not get up will be allowed to stay down. This may appear somewhat harsh, but in its general application and operation, it is wise, just and beneficent." Although I am white, I have witnessed this first hand as my mom worked hard to take care of five children with no job, no home, and no credit after my father was sentenced to prison. Through all the hardship, she kept her faith in Christ and sought to make the best lives for her kids and raise them with support in the home and church, even if they struggle because of past traumas. Thank you, D Rose, for the opportunity to bring up this important topic. You've always been my favorite basketball player and inspired me to enjoy the game. Always trust God.

D.Rose been my guy forever. This is dope
I spent a month in Thailand. I dressed for the climate and was relaxed and comfortable. Came back home to L.A. and everybody was looking at me like I was crazy. I got rid of all those clothes and assimilated.
Couple years later I'm touring around Italy. My mans there tells me yo, ditch the tee! Wear these light, cotton button-down shirts. Loved it! Back home, switched up again.
When I see this man with his liberty bell hat, or Nick Cannon with his turban, or Kevin Gates I'm like yo, I get it! Freedom of expression in the US is freedom with parameters and regulations; which is no freedom at all. Freedom is individualistic. This society shuns individuals. They're a threat to order.
Great comment
