Bro I'm loving these ngl...they're 🔥. Alot of people complaining that they ain't 'Military Blue'. Even though, it says 'Military Blue' on the box, and these are true to the 1989 OG, NOT the retro from 2012. Although the color blocking says Military Blue in the '12, it looks like the '89 cut is a darker blue. Either way, I dig em. 💯

I would put these over the black cement for SOTY only because we have not seen the Military Blue with the Nike Air back panel since 1989. My Pops bought me these back in 89 along withe the fire red and I actually found a pair of the breds in my size at school in the lost in found. True story...so the only pair I didn't have in the OG set was the cements. I was 8 years old then and have been a sneakerhead ever since. My Pop just died a few weeks ago and I hit on the shock drop, so I will admit there is some of emotion tied in with my vote.

I feel you bro. In 1989 after begging my mother for a while to bless me with the Black cements that i saw a couple of kids from my school in 7th grade had them. She took me to foot locker and the guy said they ran out but there was a new colorway and it was the military blue. This was my first ever Jordan. ive waited 35 years for this moment. Im super emotional right now. I m sneakerhead and this one ended my drive..Thank you God for beign from that era. The 4" s with the Nike Air on the Back. Respect.

In 1989 my dad MADE me get As and Bs on my report card before blowing 98$ on some size 7 4s.. after 4 months I got a "Decent" report card enough As for my MOM make my dad go buy AJ4s..UNFORTUNATELY they ran out of the white and reds and the black bred 4s..only ones they had left was military blue. I mean I got them as they were the only color left.. I wore them PROUDLY the next day...only to have the more fortunate kids rocking the new 5s.😅😅😅.. these military blues are very nostalgic for me and will probably be the only 4s I double up on. These are tough as hell I wasn’t feeling that bluish grey tint to the leather but after seeing images of 89 pairs it really grew on me and I see what JB was going for these are clean af 🔥🔥

I was fortunate enough to cop both these and the reimagined black cement/breds 4's on the shock drops and have worn both pairs equally and they are both 🔥. Having said that I prefer the bred 4's. Great video and review!

I’m an old ass who owned them when they originally came out. Mind you I was just 13 years old. But man. I haven’t owned them since and I’d love to own a new pair to relive that nostalgia. I haven’t wore my 2018 BC 3 but that version for this years release has the better shape that’s closest to the 1988 release so I have to cop them again when they drop because the WC 3 was on point with the shape and I’m glad the midsole is going to be icy white this time I’m fatigued with the distressed look I like my sneakers icy not looking like they’re yellowing

In my opinion what I think about the military blue 4s there 🔥 like in my opinion I would put them in my top 5 sneaker of the year for sure and also l loved that color blue on it , blue is my favorite color , I loved to add them to my collection.
I love these pair because they are close to the OG 1989 pairs. The leather quality is not top notch especially for that $215 retail price but I had to cop and will definitely double up

How’s the comfort?
@@johnm950 the comfort is improved compared to a lot of recent 4 retros that have come out. I think they feel very similar to the reimagined bred 4s, although I think the reimagined’s polyurethane insole makes them feel better under foot. The military’s have a crappy dreamcell insole for some reason. I haven’t had any pinky toe pain in the military’s and a lot of other recent 4s (besides the reimagined 4s) had at least some pinky toe tightness. I went true to size and they fit great

The White cements came out in 2016. The Breds came out in 2019. They were an easy cop back then… I have those and the reimagined pair. I had these military blue 4’s in 06 in HS. I didn’t get em on the shock drop but hopefully I’ll get em on release day.

I’m sorry I didn’t touch much on that as comfort can sometimes be hit or miss on 4s. These are comfortable, there is not as much cushion as previous 4s so the fit is not overbearing tight

I wanted these but if I can’t grab my pair in person I’m passing. Only because I have a few friends that hit on the shock drop. All 3 of them had horrible quality on theirs all on the right shoe. We all live in the same city so I don’t like the odds.
$215 is actually a price drop for OGs, the cements were $220/225 in 2015 so were the black metallic 5s, maroon 6s etc

What puzzles me tho is HOW does Nike stray from it's OG blueprints in the 2000s and only now get the shape right?
Nike actually started the “remastered” program in 2015, meaning they tried to faithfully replicate the jordans to the original details as close as possible to the original release. I guess they didn’t care too much before that.
Because in the early 2000s Jordan Brand was in an era where they wanted to release all the OGs under the branding of “Jordan” that’s why everything transitioned to the “Jumpman” on the heel than the traditional “Nike Air” as far as getting the color incorrect and shape, I guess they were experimenting lol
I don’t know the exact reason but I would suspect it’s what Ashley said, Jordan BRAND was a new thing so they probably took over a whole new team and tried to do some innovation and adjust things on the models. Kind of similar how Kobe has his Protros where they change things. Jordan had his issues with some of his shoes so maybe they made adjustments to toeboxes and etc. You also are starting to see Jordan Brand athletes like Ray Allen so there could be possibly things they considered as well to change.
Man I swear if you youngens are going to be making videos and try to tell the history you need to learn the history first. The 4’s were actually designed as a tribute to MJ’s dad and his time served in the Air Force. The cargo netting on them is to rep cargo straps on a cargo plane to hold down items during flight. The crowns are the tie down parts inside the plane. The wings…. Well you can figure that out. The back tab is to rep the skid plate on the loading area floor of the ramp. As we all know the primary color of the Air Force is what? Blue. That’s right boys and girls. So there you have it. These are OG’s in every way but the insoles. Cause we had good ones back in the day when we were kids rocking these. Not this dreamcell bs they give us today.
