  • In this episode of our DIY Sprinter van conversion series, we cut 4 more holes in our van walls, well...we had help cutting them (thanks Joey!). We later installed two sliding windows, (one bunk window and one behind the drivers seat) and to have extra visibility, we also put a port hole window in each of the back doors.
Follow along on our journey while we build out a van, travel the world and Encompass Adventure!!

Thank you. It's definitely a challenge tackling something you've never done before. What we love the most is when we help someone that may have felt as unready as we were with a project.

Hi all the way over there! 👋🏼 Would love to explore more of England again some day. How exciting you're getting a van! Don't worry, it's okay to be nervous. It's our first time doing anything like this too. My best advice would be to try and research each project as best you can, be creative and try to have fun! It's a lot of work but it's rewarding and you learn SO much! Happy Building friends!

You need to install a small spacer on the inside of the right side port hole and the larger window need a inside trim ring. (check youtube to see the trim ring that you need. It will fix the water leak). Great video

Hi John!! Thanks so much for watching and for the tips! They're greatly appreciated. We ended up sealing the little spot where the rain came through and tested all the windows. Everything is working great! I think we're going to do an extra seal/adhesive around the two rectangle windows just to make sure since those windows didn't come with an inside flange (the company says they're not needed), so we'll see. Thanks again for the helpful tips, feel free to keep them coming. 😊✌🏼

What are you going to do around the curved corners of the long corners? I love the window sills which I don’t have in my RV, but not sure what you are going to do to fill the gaps.

Good eye and great question! We realized that later on and actually made two videos about framing the windows. We ended up putting a ring of wood there. I've linked the two videos here. Hope this helps! 😊
