- The HH66 catamaran is the most impressive boat we've ever been on. Nick is rendered speechless so thankfully the HH staff are able to give us a tour and explain what makes this catamaran so insanely fast (and scary!).

Hey there! We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.
We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and adventure instead and started our sailing lifestyle adventure stories, since then, we’ve been working hard towards achieving our dreams, and now we’re finally living them as sailing cruising lifestyle!

What a nice surprise post! Thank you Nick and Theresa for sharing your experiences aboard our HH66 at the Annapolis Show. And thank you to all who are saying hello in the comments (I miss you all too)! Keep safe and keep sailing!!! ~Seth & crew!
Hi Seth! I miss seeing you and the family sailing.. 😊
Seeing Nick speechless when Seth talks about flying a hull at 8kn and then sailing at 14kn. What fun. And Seth recognizing that, so cool... ;-)
So nice to see Seth. I loves his channel and miss his families sailing adventures on their bright red Outremere.
Archer, what a beautiful boat!
Me too. I spent many hours during the covid lockdown vicariously cruising thanks to a bunch of saiking channels like his and RR.
Same, I loved their channel also ❤
Glad to see Seth! We miss them on UA-cam. Recognized that voice right away!
I remember seeing Seth & Family sailing into the Gold Cost Australia just ahead of Sailing Zatara when Covid was a big deal. Nice to see him still involved in sailing.
Seth, you're looking well. You're smart as a whip, as usual. I miss your channel. I hope your wife and boys are happy and thriving on land. Thanks for your tour.
As always, Nick had to say again. 🤦♂️
I miss his channel as well. :¬) Webhead USA
Love the electrically frosted windows. I've been waiting for someone to put these on a boat! The berths are only there to let exhausted race crew nap after the race. 🙂
So cool to have had you show us the HH66... Thanks!!!
WOW! A carbon fiber toilet, a true sign when you have made it. Thanks again for another great video. Hope that you are enjoying RubyRose 2.
Whoa. Now that's something you don't see every day!
I agree that the 44 would be more my... speed. harhar Also, "Speechless Nick" was hilarious.
Between this tour and the Wynn's 55 tour, HH seems to have unlimited customization options. Cha-chinggg! $$$
Thanks for showing us. Looking forward to the next RR2 episode! xo
Lool yep, if you can pay for it, they can build it!
They have an 80 too that you should check out!
@@RiverWoods111 HH88, haven't seen it on youtube in awhile.
I was lucky enough to get a tour from Seth when we were at the boat show, and that HH66 is insane! The word my wife used was "overwhelming," and I think that describes it very well.
Just imagine sailing her!
I dropped my jaw when I saw the carbon fiber toilet throne - nice. Imagine, 15kts boat speed in a 10 kt wind, unreal. I wonder how she would do against an AC72 - 😁😁. Thank you Nick for the tour, you can speak now.
Seth had a channel with his wife and 3 kids before he accepted a position with HH. He is a very experienced sailor. I have never seen a helm with a red panic button. The dagger boards are about twice the height of a person. T-Rudders! Titanium, no chrome. Inside there was a slight echo when they talked indicating no material absorbing sound - like an almost empty space. This boat is to show the capability of HH to design and build a boat. What, $10 million US? :¬) Webhead USA
He did a great job of showing the boat.
So fun to see Nick almost speechless! Great video as usual, thanks! Would be great to see you guys film an actual race onboard this boat in the future. A big shoutout to Seth, so good to see him on. Loved his family cruising channel!
It is really good to see Seth again after ending his UA-cam channel.
I miss their family. Nice people.
I would love a HH44. I so look for to the Wynnns new boat. The innovations that HH has put into their line of boats are outstanding. There is only one thing to remember, it's only money.
Nice to see the new HH employee 😂⛵️🤘✌️✌️✌️
HH 44 is amazing just watched 1st shake down cruise looks great🎉❤
One of your better videos - Love to see Nicks reaction! Made me laugh several times! Well done!
Most beautiful wood finish I've seen in a long time.
Hey Seth, Nice to see you, it's been a long time since you and Elizabeth quit doing videos. Nick, it would be nice to see Seth's kids on this 66' and get their reactions. My favorite thing about "The Sailing Family" was seeing those boys taking to every new adventure - it made me feel like a kid again. The two builders, HH and Gunboat, have new designs that are WAY over the top. Seth, "...it's really and eight ton boat with a thirty meter tall mast..." OMG!!! I'm more than a little intimidated.
Four things that make this HH the ultimate are... Immaculate finish... Boat speed, the OH Sh*t button... And... Nick speachless... Say's it all really... What a weapon...
Very nice tour, thanks guys!
“Being on here in dock scares me.”
😆 love it
It was nice to see Seth again. I hope all is well with him and his family. Miss seeing their channel. It's also nice to see he is living his dream!
The electrochromic windows are an incredible feature.
Nice video. That boat is a really great advertisement for HH. Immaculate finish, customized, and relentless focus on weight and racing capability. But not a boat for a cruising couple.
I saw this boat on the hard in ft pierce florida! It looked sexy standing still dried out. The bottom paint is sprayed on not rolled on to get a smoother finish and it showed!
It was great to see Seth. I named him Super Dad when he, Elizabeth and their three sons had their cruising channel. I was always in awe how Seth interacted with the boys.
Wow. Carbon fiber dream.
Similar situation, I understand how you’re feeling, you guys worked well together to rectify the situation congrats, great it worked out
Great presentation on the docks, I can hardly wait for the report video on board reporting while sailing with both of you on board at a good speed on reach.😉
Love this episode
Update Feb '24: HH66 Nemo just won the 2024 Multihull Challenge Regatta! After eight races against Gunboat, Schionning, Marsaudon ORC and some various custom boats, Nemo took the regatta with five first place finishes. Congrats to captain and crew! Mission accomplished. Now go cruising with that champagne! :)
Love to see the four of you back together again soon.
Nice glad to see Seth still with HH. Sailing Family. Hope all is well bud/. This review had you tongue tied, As I am watching Awesome ~~
Nick, I don't like you speechless! We check in to hear your words, and it's weird when you don't have much to say. You DEF need to get a ride on that boat in a race with the full race crew, and film the whole thing. THAT would be fun!
What a very sexy boat!
8,40 min .slip between two cabinet doors but not the 3 door is no slip at all. Impressed catamaran. HH is probably one of the best right now.
I've never seen Nick speaking so little in an episode... The most words came out of his mouth is "carbon fiber'..
He's smitten by the boat.
Hey Seth! Beautiful boat! I miss "The Sailing Family"! How's everyone doing?
I remember Seth from The Sailing Family 😊
The Piano. Was that a carbon fibre piano?
I would love to see this boat smash Sail LaVaga because I am sure it would wipe the smile off Reiley face. HH boat commission for the Wins new toy was just Sooooo much more professional than the SLV where they ripped out brand new sail, flooded brand new Yanmar and over heated the battery bank just to mention a few things. HH really has the cat boat thing going. So glad the wins chose a HH just think they should have gotten the next size up and had the dagger board option. Tks RR2 this is a fantastic boat racer.
They are already maxed out their budget. I remember they mentioned in a video that they were really captivated by the forward cockpit of HH52.
Don't remember the battery bank overheating on the Rapido 60... What does the Rapido 60 that SLV got cost? ~2,4 million USD? And what does this HH66 cost? I'm going to guess that this HH66 costs considerably more than the Rapido 60... Also: The ripped sail on SLV was operator error. And a big part of that was Riley and Elayna having visa troubles(?) in Vietnam. That caused Riley to miss one/two or more shakedown sales off the coast of Vietnam. But yeah... I guess Vietnam's views on visas is something you'd have to factor in when getting a Rapido 60... I'm also going to guess that insurance and maintenance on the HH66 is considerably more than on the Rapido 60.
Also: According to Riley he's able to single hand the Rapido 60. Could someone single hand this HH66?
@@angela1984a Base price is $4 million without options IIRC , so yes , considerably more expensive than a Rapido 60 , and not faster , not even close ...
Boy SLV apologists are everywhere. Did you notice that everyone on the HH boat was wearing a PFD during Wins commission? And the Rapido will require a crew to sail fast just like any racing boat. Fast boats require the big sails to remain up when wind blows and that requires people to help not a single handed boat with a small family along.
That’s what you can get when money is no object. Wowee !
That was so interesting.
Haha, one of your best🫣
Good to see Seth again...
I guess the point HH and all are trying to make is HH make quality boats. Point taken
It may scare me but if they offer me a crazy ride on that beast I wouldn't have the strength to say no, I don't want regrets 😁
HH have a pedigree in fast boats but this one is really.... WOW !!!
Helm positions look dangerous with the low boom so close...
Ask Seth, how his wife and three boys are doing.... Thanks for sharing....
Beautiful boat - all about the speed, but I am with you guys; it's not long term cruising compatible, or short handed couple/solo lifestyle sailing.
But what a boat!
If you can fly a hull in 8 knots what are you going to do in 20? Thats fast.
Wow, just wow.
Silly question, engine stats?
Perfect, that's what people want exactly how they order... it s100% not for me, with exception of the quality of the finish, the rest is not a wet dream, more a nightmare, but well executed.
The HH66 is like buying an F1 Car to run on the roads because you like driving fast. Nice if you have that kind of disposable income.
I agree with Nick....that boat is so hardcore for racing that it feel scary to see it. It is kind of like having a large and threatening looking dog...sure, they could just be a big cuddlebug in real life, but there is still the fact that they look like they are ready for violence at any second t9o get past. LOL
It's like having a formula 1 car instead of an RV.
Serve completely different purposes.
Do not watch this video and drink every time Nick says "Carbon fibre":-)!
Carbon fiber wash towel 😂😂😂😂
Damn!! Nothing else to say.
A 66' cat with narrower hulls than many 40' cats, that weighs 8 tonnes without the foils.🤯
The only place to go next is yachts that hydroplane both hulls.
Ruby Rose 3?
Well price 5 million?
Gunboat challenge anyone?
Great review articulated very well. Stop the vulgarity.
Wondering how little horsepower is needed to motor this 66' racer.
You should have asked Seth how the wife and boys are? Ay, maybe not, since they no longe are in the youtube public.
Built to take down Fujin
The price/kg is what worries me
Click bait with the thumbnail.😡
Insanely expensive for what you get , considering it is made in China . It's also quite on the heavy side for its length considering the great amounts of carbon used in its construction which does not give me much confidence in the level of engineering applied . Also a bit undercanvassed : an SA/D of less than 32 is not overly impressive for a supposedly performance cat. An ORC 57 in fibre glass has a lower D/L and higher performance stats (KSP , S#, Bruce# and SA/D), so can easily keep up with an HH66 for half of the price . If you really have the money for an HH66 , it's way better spent on a Gunboat 68 which is faster , has a much nicer cosier interior and will keep its value much better .
I doubt the gunboat comparison but would be good to see. With those dagger boards down it would fly!
You've got to be kidding. It's 1/3rd the price of a Gunboat, yet faster, purely because it is made in China. A 11.9 ton ORC catamaran would get smoked by this 8 ton HH66 (with the daggerboards down). Can an ORC lift a hull to reduce wetted surface? Nope. 🤣 This boat won the La Voile last year. It has set the bar that all other racing cruising cats need to beat.
You sir know nothing. There is no lighter 66 ft catamaran on the market. If you really think the gunboat 68 is going to be a whole bunch faster then watch us race them at the BVI spring regatta this year.
@@jolyonferron4858 as I originally replied I thought the gunboat thing was a bit of a furphy. The HH is light and to see a boat that size fly a hull is MOST impressive. Would love to give it a try.
Came back to update. We smoked the 68 gunboat convexity. And the 84ft custom catamaran Allegra.
Flying a hull is what racers do. To take a multi million dollar cruising boat and fly the hull seems idiotic. If it were to flip, righting it would be a fiasco. Why does anyone even go this direction?
You guys really need to stop talking up this Chinese trash that HH keeps putting out. Go read reviews form actual owners. These things literally fall apart within the first year. Absolute trash boats. Polished terds.
I want to like HH Csts because of the innovation and it’s partially owned by kiwis and Seth and Nikki and Jase ….. but… they are not pretty. Form would take over function for me and there are sexier cats to buy.
No sure about this. Almost like someone building a race car but add the extra family oriented stuff into it. But as they say "your money.. do what you want".
Tired of tests go sailing
Nick, I agree, a cruising version, yes. Racer, sorry, pass!
Best wishes from the North.
I thought you were a sailing channel.while building your boat you did a lot of boat reviews (so you’d have content to post on your channel) well you’ve now got a boat why aren’t you sailing and posting videos of your boat and your adventures!!???? I don’t get it.
Super fast and at the same tine a very boring looking sailboat.
It doesn't take many words to review this boat, and I think Nick's lack of them nailed it
Loool. Thank goodness for Seth!
That’s Seth from the “sailing family”?
Loved Seth and his fam when they were cruising,!!!!!
Seth gave me the same tour but I also got to speak to the owner. I had the same reaction. This 66 is way more intimidating than the 55 and the 50 that were at previous shows. I recall the owner telling me this was not his only boat, but it was the most fun to sail ... with a race crew.
Seeing Nick speechless is definitely amusing. But, glad you guys are being honest with yourselves!! I reckon you could hang an airport windsock on the foredeck and she would still do 10 knots!
They released their sea trials test video yesterday. Sweet. Nikki looked so happy.
Good to see Seth again, hope the boys are well.
HH are the best on the market hands down
Not my choice of style either
Standard Criuser version sure
Looking forward to seeing the 44 in real life, I'm sure it's a beauty
LOL, you silenced him. Good to see you Seth!
So great to see Seth, formerly of the Sailing Family! Those Z boards are mega as well… Thanks for the vid guys - back in Adelaide visiting family and stuck home with a chest infection, and this makes for great watching👍
Damn, that's a cool boat!
And the Price????
$4 million starting price I believe without options . I would guess $5 to $6 million sail away price to be more realistic . Way overpriced for what is , too heavy and definitely overhyped in the speed dept .
It's Seth
The look on Nick’s face 😂
Cool! A 66 foot Hobie! (But better!)
Trying to remember if a Hobie 16 can fly a hull in an 8 knot breeze..maybe.
@@UUBrahmanoh they can you can count on it if not an A class can
As Tyresa said ... "Just WOW" Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Great review.
I am in awe. It is like the catamaran world is undergoing the same revolution the car industry did years ago. Great that you brought this to our attention.
Carbon fiber towels 😂
Looks like everyone in the world knows Seth (& family) except me! He did a great job of showing Nick & Terysa around a superlative catamaran - it was great to see Nick very nearly speechless, and very understandable!
All that titanium doesn't just reduce a bit of weight but it will never rust and cause rust stains. Maintenance free.
