Dear Ingenious Homeowner - I am very impressed with the finished project and how you figured everything out! A few tips from an experienced contractor for your next project.
First, the reason you do diagonal cuts on horizontal trim is because (as you know) wood expands and contracts. With a crisp vertical joint, the different expansion rates are highly visible. With a long diagonal cut, they are virtually invisible.
Second, the way to get diagonal cuts is to cut a shim block or use commercial shims. Shims are very tiny slivers of triangle tapering from about 1/2" to nothing. By stacking them together and pin-nailing, you can create an angle block at just about any angle you need. Then pin-nail the angle block against your straight edge. Nah-dah! Your straight edge is now a 22-degree (or 45 degree, or whatever) angled edge. Clamp the trim against your original straight edge, clamp the angled edge on top. Ignore the incredibly mind-bending optical illusion of upside-down crown. Cut away. You will get perfectly angled cuts every time. There are UA-cams that demonstrate this procedure, since my written explanation sucks. It sounds a lot harder than it is!
Third, do NOT use wood filler for any gap larger than 1/16". Instead, buy little cheap rolls of backer rod. I have no idea why it's called "rod" since it is in fact a roll of soft, flexible foam strings from 1/4" to 1". It's super cheap (less than $5 for 20' of it). Stuff the larger cracks with the backer rod THEN fill and caulk. Best caulk, hands-down is "Big Stretch" which is designed to fill wider cracks and still be paintable.
Finally, do NOT fill with wood filler. The wood filler is a fragile product that does not sand to a smooth finish. It is far better to use two-part epoxy fillers from the auto repair store. Yup, Bondo, which is available in kits large to small, is cheaper and dries better than any wood filler I've ever used. It is also much stinkier, so you can only do this project with a fan and open windows and a plan to escape the house for half a day after applying the expoxy putty.
Great job - keep up the good work.
Thank you! 😊
@@juniperway Glad I could help 🤗
You detailed every step you took, and showed pictures; still, I cannot believe this was not done by a professional. Absolutely impressive work. You should be very proud.
Oh, wow! Thank you so very much. I really appreciate hearing that. 💟
You did a great job. I also think you were very brave to start such a mammoth project, but that's what we do!
Yup! I knew if I did something smaller I probably wouldn't ever get to this. And these shelves were what I really wanted. 🥰
Impressive! Doing this project by yourself and managing young kids along the way can be so difficult. I would like to do built-ins also but use random dressers and bookshelves acquired here and there. The difficulty factor may be exponential, though. I'm still pondering it.
I love that idea! I can see how it would complicate things a lot, but it would also cost less (especially if you got the stuff for free), and upcycling is so much fun.
WOW Looks fantastic !! .. I love all of your personal touches... that was quite the project to take on for a beginner, so proud of you !! Can't wait to see what you do next 😊
Thank you! I'm still really happy with how it turned out. It's been a year, and other than a couple of pencil marks from my toddler that I still need to clean up, it's in fantastic condition. 🥰
You did a wonderful job on a complex project, especially as a beginner with all the challenges you had. In particular, I like the paintable wallpaper on the dresser drawers and door fronts. I believe the paint you used was my fave white paint from Home Depot, Behr Ultra Pure White. This has definitely given me a couple of ideas, as I'm planning to remove some existing (but not original) cupboards in the hallway of my rural home this coming year, and to replace them with Billy bookshelves, both tall and low ones and to put doors on all the lower ones. I'm still thinking about whether I want to make it look built in, as you did, but I would need more to go on if I were going to try to DIY it myself. You gave a good overview of the work, but it moved too quickly and was too vague in parts for me to be able to understand how and what to do. Since my niche is with the chronically disorganized and people moving into small spaces, I tend towards things that can be completed more quickly but I'm really thinking about either paintable wallpaper or peel and stick wallpaper on the door fronts now. Thanks!
I hope it goes well!
First, I want to say...well done. While I was cringing at a few spots, saying that "I would never do that", I later told myself to shut up, cuz I was watching this video to get ideas on how I want to DiY my entertainment center and I had no clue (just assumptions) anyway. Secondly, I thank you for sharing and giving us all ideas on how to just get started with projects, becuase they are not doing themselves.
🤣😂 I feel the same while watching other people's videos. Good thing these shelves are for me and not others. 😁 It's been over two years, and they're still fantastic. I'm hoping to be able to do something in my master bedroom soon.
Nice job. I really like the artistic details like the paintable wall paper and the knobs. I'm saving to build out a huge library in my formal. The shelves will be 12 ft tall and about 26 ft long. I need more book storage!
🤣🤣 One can never have too many book shelves!! 🤣🤣
You did a wonderful job on the custom bookcase and shelving! Very impressive. I also love your explanation and the time you took to share your journey! God bless you. 🙏🏼✝️🕊️
Thank you. 🥰🥰
Wow I’m impressed! You should be very proud of yourself. I love the wallpaper on the door fronts. It’s just a beautiful touch. I’ve been watching these types of videos for a bit. I’m interested in doing the project in my home. Thank you for going over so much of the project with very helpful tips and tricks. That’s really helpful and more than others have put out. Great job 👏 really appreciate your advice on this job.
Thank you so much. 🥰 I binged watched UA-cam videos for a long time before doing my shelves, and there were so many missing pieces!! I was determined to put them in my own video. I'm so glad people are finding it and appreciating it. UA-cam can make it challenging to find things sometimes.
@@juniperway thank you for your reply can’t wait to try it myself.
@@sharonrobledo136 I hope it goes well. 🥰
Kudos to you for sticking with this absurdly difficult process. I bet you feel such a sense of accomplishment. (and that base you built looks nice! great job!)
I would prefer to pay someone to do this, even if I had to get a second job. lol (note: I don't have kids so that's an actual option)
It was hard, but I relished in that hardness. I love projects like these and thrive on them. (Check out my video for the chicken coop I built this year - I've been told I could sell it for $15k+.) I also love being able to hire things out, but my husband and I are both natural savers, and parting with money is very painful. Even if we were millionaires, we'd still be trying to find ways to save money. 🤣😁 Kids are only as expensive as you want them to be. 😁 Providing for their needs is much simpler than most people think. 🥰
Perseverance pays off. The final product looks nice.
I really love it. So does my husband, thank goodness. 😁 He was fully behind me building a Taj Mahal for our chickens after I finished the built ins. 😁
Not sure if you meant to put the "Eligible to ENTER to win :-D" splash screen @30:44, but it's a bit unsettling. Nice job on the shelving, though. Congrats.
Oh, really wish I'd caught that screen thing before uploading!! How annoying. And yeah, ha ha ha ha. Sigh. English apparently isn't my thing some days. 🤣
Congratulations on a job well done! Very informative. Your channel is going to do well. Kudos!
I hope so! Thank you. 🥰
The crown molding cut you would want to do would be a scarf joint.
That's remarkable! Nice work! I'm just like you though, I totally would have thought, "I'll spend a solid week and do it right!" But seeing these photos, it's easy to see how it was over a month. Especially given outside forces, ie: surgery recovery, etc. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I always way underestimate the amount of time it'll take to get a project done. 🤣 But this project especially. And you're right - surgery recovery didn't help with the timeline. 😁
Wow!! What a great job on a huge project!! 🎉
Thank you. 🥰
This is so helpful at the way you showed everything. Thank you so much for doing this coz this will helps me in my plan of a DIY bookcase/turn into wardrobe closet
Good luck with that project! I'd love to make over my closet. Need to start saving my pennies. 🥰
Wow. You did an amazing job. And it really looks “built in”. Best wishes for success with your new channel.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. 🥰
OMG, what a Beautiful job!! Great detailed tutorial -- thank you! Btw, that's the exact same wallpaper I'm already looking at for a wall! I love what you did with it by putting it on doors/drawers -- now I'm thinking about that!
That wallpaper is still one of my absolute favorite parts of this project. It still looks so very good! It would be gorgeous on a whole wall!
Wonderful job . Actually it is so nice , I paused at the final picture and kept looking at it. Complete pro finish. I think I will build one in my living room. Got inspired by your efforts . Good luck for all future projects .
Thank you so much. What a wonderful compliment! 🥰 Good luck with your own project. 🥰
I am working on some bookcases for my sewing room and your project gave me some inspiration. I want all the bookcases to have a finished look - thinking glass doors across the top shelves and solid doors along the lower.
I love the idea of glass doors!! That would be so very pretty.
I love your commentary and I love the detail of ideas, options, mistakes and corrections, I haven’t even finished the video yet lol but waiting to be amazed. Thank you for sharing. 😃
And I'm already looking forward to doing it again in my house. 😁😬 My husband isn't so sure he's ready for another project. 😁
Thank you for this video! I am trying to do something similar with the billy bookcase built ins. Your video is one of the only ones that have the gap between the bookcases with doors at the bottom (like my current situation). How did you fill the gap between the bookcases where the doors are? Are they flush with the piece above it where there aren't doors? DId you adjust the door hinge for this?
The piece on the bottom with the doors and the piece on the top without doors is all the same thing - one tall Billy bookcase. I didn't make any adjustments with the hinges, thank goodness. I'm thinking I don't fully understand your question, so let me know if I didn't answer all the way.
Great job! i am planning to add cabinets for a sewing space and you really inspired me and gave good ideas.
Yay! Awesome. 😊 My mother-in-law ended up doing the same as you, and she loves the extra storage for fabric, etc. 😊
Hi! Great Job!!
I LOVE your cabinet!!
I was wondering what knobs you used on the cupboard doors? ♥️
Thank you! I used knobs I bought at Hobby Lobby. I'm not sure if they have them anymore, but they always have a great selection!
How cute, he kissed the drawers. Gorgeous, incredible job, your hard work paid off.
He was insistent on fixing each drawer's "owies." 😁 Toddlers are so much fun. 😊
Thank you. 🥰
@@juniperway I have a toddler grandson, they are so sweet.
@@sooome9294 I sure love them. The toddler stage is the best. 🥰
absolutely beautiful ... and YES i do plan to do a full-wall media area ... and an office wall area also ... both using IKEA hacks. thanks for the inspiration.
You're welcome! I'm saving my pennies for my next project. 🥰
Wow! That came out amazing! Thanks for the detailed and through explanation
You're welcome! Thanks for watching. 🥰
You did a fantastic job-WOW! The only question I have is, did you have to do any prep, like sanding, to the finish of the pieces before you primed them?
Sorry I'm just seeing this. I sanded a couple of the shelf fronts, but it didn't change how well the primer stuck, so I stopped.
what a beautiful end product ! your creativity is spot on, the wallpaper and hardware are gorgeous. I would definitely do this in a room I have, but I would have to do a smaller version as I am not lucky enough to have a big wall to do it on. Congratulations on a job well done, and beautiful end results.
A smaller wall would be so very nice!! It would have been far more manageable.
I am going to be tackling this same job in my home & I absolutely LOVE the work you did! You've got a great "problem-solving" mind like I do and I was able to follow your logic. Love it! You're very inspiring my friend! FANTASTIC JOB! I'm curious though, how much would you say, it cost to do this DIY? I realize the small spacer pieces were not a cost factor for you. Thankfully, I have a miter saw and all the tools. Based on the price of wood, the Billy bookcases are less expensive by far! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!!
Ps: I'm subscribing to your channel! 😃👍
Take care and God bless!
I'm so glad this was helpful to you! I'm starting to brainstorm my next project and can't wait to dig in. The cost was probably around $1200-1500. The IKEA stuff was around $450. I know IKEA has raised their prices significantly since I built this. (The Billy bookcases were $39 when I did this, and only a few months later, they rose in price to $89. I haven't checked in a while to see if that's still accurate or not.)
Looks very professional EXCEPT for the ceiling fan/light fixture. A more contemporary light fixture, without a fan, would compliment your work.
Yeah, but then I wouldn't have a ceiling fan in the room we spend most of our time in, which also happens to be the hottest room in the house. Plus, money is super tight when you've got health problems and are raising little kids. Functionality will always trump beauty. If I can get beauty AND functionality in a way we can afford, I'm all over it. 🥰
The entire wall looks amazing. For a beginning project, I am sure you thought it would never be completed. I especially like the paintable wallpaper. That took an already amazing project up a couple levels. Thank you for the details and hints and tricks.
I still absolutely love the paintable wallpaper. I have good kids, but they still are kids, and it's held up well. 😊
Very creative and resourceful! I love that you figured things out as you went along. I can see why you had a few sleepless nights. But how gratifying to see the end project!! Very inspiring for us DIYers!!
I'm so happy with how it turned out. My husband doesn't worry anymore when I tell him I want to take on another project! He knows I'll do my best to make it look good and that I'll be safe while doing it. 🥰
Wonderful use of IKEA items to customize storage for your home. You are lucky to have the ability and stamina to be able to do it with a little help, here and there.
One critique I hope you do not take offence to; the word “caulk” is pronounced “cock”, like a male bird. The letter L is silent. I was corrected when I was young and was sounding it out from the packaging when I would help my father.
Thank you. 🥰
How did your Husband tolerate the project? My wife would have been on my ass the entire time! because of the mess and disruption. I think it turned out great and you probably saved $10,000 on the project.
He was reeeeally against it at the start, but once we sat down and I told him how I was going to do things, he relaxed and let me do my thing. Part of the problem was he wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off since I'd never even come close to something like this, but he absolutely loves the finished product. As to mess (and he's way more anal than I am about cleanliness. Don't get me wrong - I keep a fairly clean house - he just gets more stressed than I do when things aren't tidy), I kept it on the back patio, and we didn't get a lot of sawdust inside. It didn't disrupt our lives too much. Thank goodness! When I built our Taj Mahal chicken coop, he was totally on board. 😊😊
Amazing job, amazing and detailed explanation. Tips much appreciated .your insight for newbie is great 👍
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful. 🥰
Can I hire you to do mine for me?? 😅
Sad thing is,I'm NOT even playing!!
🤣😂 Oh, boy. 😁 Where are you located, anyway? (Not like I can do it, of course. 😁)
I watched your video from start to finish and am speechless! I saw it yet can't believe I'm eyes, you are a super woman! How proud your husband must be, how delighted you must be with this mammoth project. I would love to have that built-in bookcase but I could never do a project of that magnitude. Not sure what's more impressive, the absolutely gorgeous look or that you completed it in a month! How much do you think you spent on this priceless oroject?
Thank you so much. I am so very happy with how it turned out. (And so glad it's done! 🤣) I'm honestly not sure on the cost. I'd estimate around $1,000. The cupboards, shelves, and dressers were $400, and the wood, paint, screws, etc., $600-700. IKEA furniture has more than doubled in price in the last year - the bookshelves I bought were $39, and now the simple shelves without the cupboard doors are $89. It makes me really sad because I'd love to do something like this in my office, but it would be so expensive.
Butt joints are harder to hide especially when it's in the middle of view like yours is, and your eye gravitates to. Use a hand saw with a mitre block takes 5 seconds and hides the joint.......i.e. Professional finish well within your skill set. Well done though, great job
It would have had to have been one heck of a big miter block. :-) (I'm familiar with miter boxes, and I know they need to be big enough for the thing getting cut to sit in. Not sure if miter boxes are the same or not.) Luckily, the joint is still very difficult to see, even now, over a year later. Honestly, though, I'd never used a hand saw before and thought it would be too hard for my shoulder. I didn't know that fresh, brand-new ones cut pretty easily. I've since had surgery on that shoulder - we found I had a bone cutting my rotator cuff, so there's a chance that even a very sharp saw would have been problematic.
My goal is to get a miter saw eventually. I want one soooo bad. :-)
Beautiful results. As a left handed person I did not like the way you touted the circular saw for every cut. You are very talented so invest in a compound mitre saw. Your projects will be less frustrating and time consuming and you can make more videos.
I would absolutely love to be able to afford a miter saw. They're INCREDIBLY expensive, though, and I can't justify spending money on a tool that I'll only use once a year when we're struggling to get by as it is. My projects so far only happen when I'm able to scrounge up enough money for materials. I have tons of ideas for more projects, but they'll have to wait. (And the saw will have to wait even longer. I've tried getting them through our local Buy Nothing group, and have almost been able to do it twice, but the giver changed their minds both times. Sigh.) My circular saw cost only $25, and I felt guilty spending even that much. 😂 Miter saws have all been around $250. Used ones have been $200. Renting them in our area is $75/day, and I wouldn't be able to move it on my own, anyway.
I only "tout" my circular saw because I feel like I've more than gotten back the money from it, and I'm proud of what I've been able to do with just it. My husband is left handed as well, and he used it tons of times before I ever picked it up for the first time.
What a beautiful job you did a great job ❤ 👍
Thank you!! 🥰🥰
Diagonal cuts better hide the joint and allow for the wood to move without seeing the black gap.
For your first job, it's rather impressive.
Awesome, thanks for that info. And thank you!
What an awesome accomplishment. Kudos to you. ❤
Thank you. 🥰
LMAO. 34:58 "By the way, Shellac comes from the butts of a bug from India." I laughed way too hard at that. :)
🤣🤣 I'm still amazed that someone figured it out. Like, "Hey. Let's take this secretion stuff from that bug's butt and smear it all over our walls." 🤣
Finished product looks first class! Lots of work to support and fill. You go girl…
It was so much work. I'm really glad I didn't know ahead of time how much. 😁 I probably would have still done it... Just not while recovering from surgery. 😁
Very impressive ..I particularly like the painted wallpaper. What adhesive did you use?
Oh, thank you! I knew I'd forgotten something in the products used part of my description. :-D Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019K914Q/
I want to start a project with a bookcase I purchased. It made of particle board and I need to learn how to reinforce it. Daunting to say the least.
Yeah, no kidding! I'm starting to think about my next project. It's going to be a big one. IKEA shelves have gone up do much in price since I did these built-ins. 😞
Fantastic project. Congratulations on your design and completion.
Thank you. 🥰
Great tutorial. Will definitely help when we do a similar project soon. Thanks 🙂
Glad to hear it. 😊 I'm starting to plan another project again too and am thinking I'll record it this time instead of doing just pictures.
Really ambitious project and you all pulled it off! Beautiful!
Thank you. 🥰
Great job! You gave me some ideas on how I can adjust an existing setup that needs some help.
Oh, awesome!! I hope it goes well. 😊
Lovely job loved the detail not sure to go with ikea or kaboodle but will be doing similar project
Thank you! 🥰 I've never heard of kaboodle. Is it similar to IKEA?
Well that's intense. Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back.
Thank you! 😊 The pat will have to wait until after I've recovered from shoulder surgery. 😁
Great idea, just what I was looking for, ty!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! 🩷
This is amazing!!! Can’t wait to close on our house so I can try my hand at this.
I hope it goes well!! 💟🥰
Beautiful end result. I am thinking of doing something like this! 🤞
Good luck! It's so very satisfying to have it done. 😊
if you cut molding in a 45 angle, it wont show crack when wood shrinks
Thank you! 🥰
Professional job. You should be very proud of yourself. Well done you.
Thank you so much. 🥰
I want to build something like this and I want to build a tiny home.
A tiny home would be so cool!
Great job on the units, but there is so much talking I could not watch it all...
Not every video is for every person.
A great job. The sharp end of the hammer is "the claw"
Ha ha ha. Thank you. 😁 I'm definitely not a public speaker - I couldn't for the life of me think of what it was called. 😁
I was thinking of it but I don’t believe I have the skills 😊
It's definitely an intimidating project!!
Excellent job. Am sure you saved a ton of money.
I had someone come and quote what it would have cost to have it done where we live. We saved $15,000. 😳
I am so impressed !! You are a hard worker . It is beautiful
Thank you so very much. 🥰
Wow this looks so good. Congratulations on a job well done.
Thank you so much. 💟
So much work! It looks incredible!!
Thank you! 🥰🥰
wow so much work its beautiful no i would not take this on good on you
Looking back at how much work it was, I wouldn't take it on either. 😁
May I ask the total cost of your beautiful bookcases?
I've been trying to figure it out. I didn't keep very close track of things like screws, etc., and those cost more than I thought they would. I'd guess around $1,000. About $400 of that went to the bookcases, cupboards, and dressers. The rest went to wood, paint, caulk, screws, etc.
Wow! You did great! Congratulations!
Thank you. 🥰
Impressive. Well done!
Thank you! 🥰
Thank you for the ideas and encouragement. This was indeed a big project. It would be great if you could show some shorts that helped to show some of the details of the specific steps.
That would be great, but I don't have a way to go back in time and record myself doing the project. 😕 It would be based on pictures. Do you think that would still work?
@@juniperway I think it could help if you zoomed in on photos and pointed with a pencil as you spoke, or if you have the capability to use digital annotation on computer photos, that would be helpful. A lot of times when you were explaining what you did, I wasn't able to follow the "here" and "there" you referred to. And of course it was in the areas where I needed most to understand what was being explained. You could do short videos that featured one or two tasks.
@@barbarawoods4549 when I was saying here and there, I was using the mouse to show those locations. I'm guessing you weren't able to see the mouse? Do you remember any specific locations where you wanted more info? I can't promise anything, of course - things on the home front are pretty challenging right now (my daughter is severely dehydrated from a really bad bout of influenza and the doc is trying to decide if she needs to be admitted, I sprained my ankle yesterday that I had surgery on right before building my shelves and can't walk, and I'm having knee surgery in two weeks), but I can see if I can put something together.
excellent explanation, nice end result!!!
Thank you so much. 🥰
This is fantastic ! Can’t believe this was your first “wood project” !! I have plotted and planned a bookcase back in my LR for a couple years, but now I see I have a lot more to figure out . Thank you , I am now a subscriber . Amazing work !
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear it was helpful. 🩷
I am in awe - absolutely amazing!
Aww, thank you. I appreciate it.
Good job on trying new stuff. As newbies we have to stick together. Good luck in your UA-cam journey.
I'm already looking forward to my next project. 😁
Wow! Yes that is a lot of work. Looks great. Would of never thought to use wallpaper. But would give a wonderful texture to an otherwise glossy wall. I think that project was bigger than raising your kids. Lol.
🤣🤣🤣 It certainly felt that way some days. 🤣
Looks great!Too much work for me!
🤣🤣🤣 I love it. 😁
Yes. There is less filling and sanding when using miter cuts on trim because the seams will fit tighter and cleaner. The ends of the connecting pieces would be mitered also opposed to butt connections. It can be tricky to cut without a miter saw, so kudos to you for taking on such a project because the finished result turned out looking good. That's quite an accomplishment!
Thank you. I really, really hope to get a miter saw eventually! It would really help future projects.
What an amazing job you did!! I applaud you for tackling this with the little experience you had at the beginning! I like the understated elegance of you piece. You obviously looked at finished pieces of furniture to help make the decisions you made about the trims. And through in homeschooling and such young children- I would have pulled my hair out!!
You're so right - I love refinishing furniture, and I took note of what I liked and didn't like. My plans changed several times, but I ultimately like how it turned out even better than what I was originally going to do. 😊
I hope you are very proud of your work. This is amazing. I can't believe you rec'd so many views but only a few subscribed. I truly admire the effort you put in and that you were afraid in the beginning, but had the confidence to push through the fear. That is what is holding me back. I would love to build a similar structure along one of our long walls in the living room, but I am afraid I will get part way through and then give up. I do have a handyman who could help, so maybe that is what I will do to keep me going. The wallpaper looks great and gives it a very luxury look. Congrats again and I did subscribe!
Thank you so much!! And having a back-up person to help just in case would make it so much less daunting!
Great project! I've been planning to do Billy bookcases in a built in look for my VERY long hallway....
Do it! Do it! 😁
Awesome work! I will be building billy bookcase shelf unit myself, but I'm a bit afraid of the skill and time required.
The time required was more intense than I expected, but the skill wasn't as bad - UA-cam helped me learn how to use the tools, etc. There's so much material out there to watch!
She is WOMAN! Hear her ROAR!
🤩🤩🤩
so impressive!! I’m a single mom /homeowner and I love this kind of stuff!! beautiful work!
Thank you! 🥰🥰
The “L” in caulk is silent.
Thank you.
Fabulous, wonderful job
Thank you. 💟
Great job 👏 👏👏
Thank you! 🥰
Claw hammer, claw is the nail pulling part. Cutting angles at the end of where two pieces of trim meet is so one can hold down the other end. If you butt the ends together they can shift over time. Less finish filler needed. Great effort.
Really great info!! Thank you. 🥰 I was hoping someone would eventually be able to answer! 😊
Very professional job. This is the standard that everyone will measure their process against. Perfect outcome!
Awww, thank you. It was such a challenge! I'm so happy with how it turned out, though.
Your title to your video is what caught my attention. I've thought to do this in my basement. You deserve a blue ribbon. Great job.
Thank you! I hope you do it. 😊
Amazing work, it looks incredible. Total transformation of your space.
I just love how it looks in the room. I'm wanting to do something like it in every room now, ha ha. Okay, not every room. 🤣
Diagonal cuts don't show as badly when the wood shrinks.
Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for the info!
@@juniperway I got that from 'This Old House' on PTB. LOVE that program!
@@damogranheart5521 I used to watch that show religiously! I occasionally catch some of the lessons on UA-cam.
Seriously stunning!!
Thank you so much. 💟
I may do a scaled down version of your plan but your unit fits the space perfectly. Good idea on trimming the edge of shelves.
I'm already planning my next project. 😬 Despite vowing never to do something like this again. 🤣
wow, fabulous results!
Thank you. 🥰💟
You did an amazing job! Loved it
Very nice! Where do you get the white wall paper? Can you share the link? Thank you!
I got it off of Amazon. Link is in the description. 🥰 (When I get back on my computer I can post it here, but that'll be a while - I just had shoulder surgery.)
You detailed every step you took- very impressive. I plan took take on a project myself.
Good luck! I hope it goes well.
