As the gateway to the Pine Bush, the Discovery Center introduces you to everything that makes the Preserve rare and adventurous. You can touch a snake skin, make a sand dune, plan a prescribed fire, learn how to help the environment and much more!
Explore the many interactive exhibits, displays and programs that interpret the natural and cultural history of the Albany Pine Bush from its glacial or "cool" beginnings right up to the green technology used within the building. Visit the classroom spaces, the teacher resource center and our gift shop with its special Pine Bush flavor.

DIRECTIONS: From I-87 take exit 2W (Rt 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Rt 5 for about 2 miles then turn left onto Rt155 (New Karner Rd). Continue on Rt155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located at 195 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
