Matt, thanks for expressing that. And a I have said before, the "Shall I sell my Countach???!!!!!" is in big yellow letters in the thumbnail, with the guy's face all twisted up with what he thinks is a humorous expression when to me it looks like he needs to take a dump.
No Harry you're doing it all wrong! You're supposed to store the Countach in a garage under a cover and never drive it. Then you can sell it for profit when you're on your deathbed and too old to drive a car. Wait... that doesn't sound good at all. We need to rethink this over.
Harry reminds me of Jay Leno in that way...it doesn't matter how rare or valuable a car is, he'll still drive it. It was pretty loud, though...but so nice to hear that glorious engine at full song! :-)
aussiebloke609 lol, poor man's J Leno. I bet it isn't often harrying gets referred to as the poor man. However it's great he treats these cars as cars, sparingly of course.
I love those Harry's road trip videos. They actually inspired me (amongst some other things) to buy an MX5 an drive along the Croatian and Montenegrin coast.
all those drama filled car shows could learn alot from harry s videos, a great car, a great road and a genuine man enjoying every minute of it , a great formula thanks harry , its such a pleasure . How about an update on the 2 door XJ
I have basically watched Harry's videos for most of the day and what a joy. He is a very successful man but he is totally down to earth and the videos are both informative and enjoyable. If I get out of my hole, I want to buy a classic and enjoy driving it wherever it wants to take me. What is lovely about these videos is that there are no gimmicks, no whooping audiences, just pure driving pleasure
Love the road trip vids. Especially with the Countach. Love to see my childhood (and current) dreamcar isn't as horrible to drive as everyone else says it is.
They are a pretty awesome piece of kit. I'm told they're not so much fun as a daily commuter...but that's to be expected, as it was designed to be a proper sports/GT car, for the open road, not something to be sitting in rush hour traffic. (And if you are stopped in traffic...just admire how it looks in the nearest shopfront window!) :-)
I could watch this all day. There's just something about the Countach that brings out the kid in me. I saw one in the flesh a few years back and nearly teared up. I need to get my Contact fix online and Harry is always the number one choice. He speaks so well on camera you feel he's talking directly to you. Bravo old chap. Another Countach classic!
Yeah, I was thinking she's a good sport. That doesn't seem like the best car to tour in, so thanks for putting up with his shit, and thanks for filming and sharing. She's alright in my book.
Harry - huge thanks. I have just returned from an AMOC trip to the Monaco Historique and used your route to get there. Fantastic lunch in Beaune and then a joyous run along the Route Napoleon. Verdon Gorge on the way back. Fantastic - many thanks.
What I truly love about Harry's Garage videos is that Harry "drives" and "uses" his exotic and interesting cars for what they were designed, drive them hard and have fun with them! It is very apparent the good care he does to his automobiles, it is obvious that he understand the main mechanical aspects involved in them. His cars don't look absolutely perfect as many other storage beauties but that is exactly what I like about Harrys machines and his videos. Happy Christmas to Harry and all the car fans watching this channel!
HARRY!!! I'm over from the US and am literally driving the route Napoleon for the first time tomorrow! Thanks so much for the video and keep them coming :)
What a bloody nice bloke Harry seems to be. He's obviously very fortunate to have such an incredible stable of cars and bikes to play with but he actually uses them as they were intended and recognises how lucky he is.
How can you possibly contemplate such a journey without lane change assistance and parking cameras and i-pad connectivity to allow you to communicate with Twitter whilst simulataneously uploading three selfies every minute? When you see the error of your ways let me know and I'll make you a sensible offer for that aged Italian motor you are using.
You just can't resent Harry having all these cars, first and foremost he drives them, and as they were meant to be driven, and he allows us to vicariously enjoy them too! What a gent!
@@Full_Otto_Bismarck its mostly that and to get a new car to keep the viewers interested. i love the stradman, hes the only of those guys that i watch but he sells and buys way too much
raulio81 Tiff Needal whined quite a bit about the Countach too during his F40 review. Uncomfortable, hot, hard to shift, etc. Nothing on the sound, the amazing looks or emotions it invokes. Goes to show that people will choose what to pay attention to.
@@overbuiltlimited yup. these old cars definitely require a certain mindset to properly enjoy them. they wont be like a comfy aventador but harry couldve gotten an aventador if he wanted that but instead he bought the countach for the experience
Living the life! Thanks for sharing! Recently did a roadtrip with my '92 Nissan 200sx through the Swiss alps, avoiding every highway and boy was that a blast! Thanks for your tips on Route Napoleon, that area will be my next roadtrip.
Done the Rout e Napoleon a few years ago with the GPS showing me the shortest way between waypoints. What a trip!! Got detours on small narrow roads with spectacular views. Nothing for the faint hearted though and definitely with much lower speed.
im 26years old..I grew up with the Countach era...I just want to say that I appreciate this video so much and you sharing it with us..also your wife for doing a great job filming and putting up with such a harsh road trip LOL. but thanks! Love it and drive safe!
Finally somebody who DRIVES those supercars from the 80's! This way you can enjoy the ride (even when it's hard, still enjoy), and also show the world and everbody on the road this beautiful car! It sounds amazing too, unfortunately they don't make them anymore like this... Great video, thanx!
You are an inspiration, Harry. I recently took my NSX about 1200 miles to Road America, ran on the track for two days, and came home in it. I thought about your epic trips while planning this one.
My favourite moment on the Route Napoleon was about 3/4 of the way along, heading south, when I came across a small ice cream unit sat in a gravel lay-by at the side of the road, with an honesty box. Just what was needed on a hot day!
Thank you for the road trip post, looks fantastic, and thank you for owning the countach and sharing so we don't have to. I'm gonna do this run in a triumph spitfire.
What an amazing car, with an equally amazing soundtrack! As always thank you so much Harry for providing us the opportunity to ride along with you in another one of your epic journeys.
Epic soundtrack and the Countach looks better in motion than posing again for a picture, and no man with petrol in his blood can resist the pinup girl beauty of it. Harry, you combine the motion and the sound with some breathtaking footage through the iconic roads of Europe in real world wet and cold and fog etc - you know the kind of stuff you dreamed of pushing a V12 super through all your life and it makes the hair stand. Then you talk about the experience with unassuming reality like it's really just no big deal. Makes you likable and us dreamers need you to help keep the dreams alive.
In Manchester we used to have a car sales garage that had a countach in and it was mine as many others childhood dream car ,it’s simply wonderful to experience the thrill of being behind the wheel with you and sharing the journeys you make , thankyou
Aah le Cep, soo many memories as a kid. The best stop in Beaune, probably. Room 007 is the one :D. And they use to have a terrific restaurant (Bernard Morillon). wooww, that gearbox noise is epic. Probably one of the best vids so far
Why would anyone dislike this short film? I was glued from start to finish as i usually am with Harry's films. It was reminiscent of the journey you made in the Espada a while back. Keep up the good work sir!
I drove this exact route to Castelane in my Alfa 156 and it was just an amazing drive. It takes you straight through the Gorges du Verdon with it's straight cliffs and epic scenery. Great to watch videos from real car enthousiasts, not clickbait posers trying to make a quick buck.
Harry, this one is a delight! In view of your fantastic escapades I'm surprised this 1 doesn't have more views. All your trips are world class. Thank you for these, truly great.
Thanks 4 making this. Most of us will never experience the Countach, except through UA-cam. I really love the sound this V12 makes. So this car has looks & sound, and decent performance. I drive a car with similar qualities, though less exotic. I feel like I'm driving a Lambo everytime I get in it. This video lets me enjoy the beauty of the Italian supercar, while reminding me that when the snow finally melts here, I will be tearing up the mountain roads in my own supercar!
This video has inspired me to what will be taking Route Napoleon as part of my next road trip. Do not own a GT car (yet) just a sensible hybrid but watching Harry, and others but mostly Harry, has turned me into a petrolhead somewhat but more importantly a massive fan of planning huge road trips through beautiful scenery.
Fantastic! This is exactly what I like to see in a UA-cam video. Driving the great auto routes in Europe in an exotic sports car. Hope to see more. Thanks Harry!
This is what car UA-cam videos are all about, the feel, the view, the history and most of all the passion. I can even smell that benzina! Great video Harry, you always choose the best cars.

Like the leopard print gearlever muff and the moving silhouette of the wing as you enter the hairpins and the tight left hander "Ohh I've run out of lock" comment. Great video, thank you, as all of your videos Harry.
Thankfully not Harry's next videos:
- Taking my Countach for a wrap at Dub Customs.
- New exhaust for my Countach
- Shall I sell my Countach?
- Straight piping my Countach, it's so loud!!!
Matt, thanks for expressing that. And a I have said before, the "Shall I sell my Countach???!!!!!" is in big yellow letters in the thumbnail, with the guy's face all twisted up with what he thinks is a humorous expression when to me it looks like he needs to take a dump.
Don't forget the same over used free license electronic "music" followed by "Hwhat's up guys SikkWhips420 here..."
A big red circle around the exhausts in the thumbnail aswell
- end up at 'youtube square' for the inevitable photos
The fact that Harry actually drives all of these amazing cars is why I love this channel!
Indeed! I live vicariously through this man and his obsession!! thanks Harry!!
I like this channel it feels like he's personally talking to me ,Harry's my BFF 😀 but he won't let me drive.

And you won't catch Harry getting his cars trailered across Europe either!
Good to see the plug on hotels you have used and where to get fuel. A petrolhead Michelin guide
I agree, Harry can you post more details of route & hotels, I've been making some notes while watching but missed a few bits.
Nice definition, Sir
Aaaahh... The sight of a red Countach on a twisty mountain road. It's my boyhood poster picture coming to life. Perfect!
Harry Uploads, I like, then watch the video. Guy is pure class
I just love how enthusiastic you are in presenting and doing these trips Harry. Props to the Mrs as well for being a great videographer!
I love those Harry's road trip videos. They actually inspired me (amongst some other things) to buy an MX5 an drive along the Croatian and Montenegrin coast.
i live in the US and here in my region we dont have much roadtrip worthy spots but i want to move back to Europe so i can do one of these for myself

i think the OG top gear and The Grand Tour are the only shows i enjoy with cars that are over the top lol

He literally bought a physical map to get around France, I give him props for that. Haha
I bought a road map recently. I much prefer it to Sat Nav.
In reality, going on real road-trips, you can’t manage without a proper map! How do you want to judge the roads, curvy ness, width, etc...?
Using the spoiler as a table is also Mr Cool guy.
Can't get enough of Harry's Countach adventures.

Harry, you are slowly building the best car channel on the internet. Cheers to you and your wife and thank you very much for sharing.
God bless your wife for dealing with a road trip in a countach
it's just the best thing in the world when you find a woman brain-damaged enough to put up with this kind of shit, i would imagine.
And for helping Harry film it.
I imagine Harry's wife knew what she was getting into when she married the man. It's not like he has ever kept the car obsession a secret!
Is it just me or wasn’t that actually his daughter going with him?
Yeah, I was thinking she's a good sport. That doesn't seem like the best car to tour in, so thanks for putting up with his shit, and thanks for filming and sharing. She's alright in my book.

@harrysgarage - finally, I am driving your route tomorrow morning in a 458 Spider. Had a great drive today from Dijon to Gap.
‘’Why I sold my Lamborghini “ You don’t get that rubbish on a proper car lovers channel like this one! lol 😂 Great video Harry😎
why mention kids content?
Those kids have to sell their exotics because they require the owner to practice preventative maintenance.

I love that you actually drive these cars. So much more interesting to watch, and wonderful to see these beauties in action!
You gotta love Harry . The car’s in “rude health.” He’s the best auto journalist in the biz.
My fav car in Harry's garage. Great version of a classic.

Such a cool iconic car. And this route is amazing. I did it in my van in 2009 from Monaco to Chamonix.
