Socially Awkward yeah if you're a native Spanish speaker it really isn't that enjoyable and it sucks because they have so much talent! I love their voices but I think to really emphasize their talent they should've done this song in English. Back then, spanish music didn't sound much like this. Either way I applaud to their talent! Surely you realize there are multiple dialects of Spanish?
David George this isn't a dialect it's an accent, specifically an American accent. Like how the French accent or German accent sound different in English because they pronounce words like their native languages. A person can have a foreign accent yet speak flawlessly
In this case they have the American accent (the accent that comes from having English as first language), but they also accidentally add or take away syllables from words in the song. Nonetheless the interpretation of the song is great as always and it's amazing that they even include a song in Spanish.
Roger Arias: Accent is an element of dialect; as are grammar, vocabulary and etc. Any consistent variance is considered a dialect. In this case, her accent is from the Mexican American community in California where she grew up speaking Spanish with her Mexican father. His is from the Puerto Rican American community in New York. The difference in accent/dialect is the same as that between Columbian Spanish and European Spanish. There are 5 different Spanish dialects in Spain alone; another 11 in Columbia, 10 in Mexico, etc. The point is she isn't mispronouncing the lyrics, she's singing in a dialect (accent, if you must) unfamiliar to the person making the criticism.
David George The way I understood it was that Spanish has different dialects. The Spanish we speak worldwide is castellano, but there are other spanish dialects: Catalan, Basque, Gallego, etc. I'll have to look into dialects more.
Nevertheless this isn't the case of dialect as you explain it. The singers are obviously not fluent as they mispronounce words by adding and removing syllables because they get stuck on the lyrics. It's one thing to say "water" as "vah-ter" if your German, but if you say "vahbahter" that's mispronounciation or simply incorrect. I dont doubt they are Hispanic/Latino. I doubt they are fluent especially since Mexicans are known for how clearly they speak.
Also, respectfully, it's Colombia spelled with an "o" not a "u." Probably just autocorrect, but Colombians get mad when people get it wrong lol.

I can´t believe how many people complain about their pronounciation, as a spanish speaker myself I don´t think they were bad, in fact I thought they did very good. Just enjoy the song or go and make your own cover if you´re so good at it jfc give them a rest

I know they are mispronouncing it.
They can't even pronounce the letter "L" in Spanish, they use a thick L which is wrong and sounds absolutely horrible. If you want to play around with Spanish and this song on your own, go ahead, but don't upload a cover on UA-cam and on PMJ and expect me to be a naive sheep and love it. It sucks.
I personally enjoyed the song, that´s all I care. If you don´t like it and you think their pronunciation is wrong, fine, it´s your problem, not mine.

Their Spanish is fairly impressive. Funny thing, the guy is nailing the pronunciation and when it comes a word that he normally says in English (Puerto Rico), the pronunciation goes back to English, lol. (Puertou Ricou)

Yes, they're still doing all the video's from Scott's current place ... the PMJ Manor. It's large enough, where he can mix up the look of the set. He's been there about a year now. It's his 2nd location since he's been on the West Coast. Before that he lived in NYC, in the apt. that Alin Fatu mentioned. PMJ has always used random other sites to film from, such as recording studios, venues, and even a restaurant/diner ... sometimes just once, and other times for several videos. (Edit: Obviously, as nicoleloveswalt said this special PR hurricane relief benifit video was NOT filmed in Scott's house.)

They should've just kept the original version so it never made it to the radio. As soon as they added Justin Bieber our shitty society gobbled it up and praised it like a god sent the song. Our celebrity obsessed society is quickly dwindling the standards for music, comedy, and film making. I can't believe people even requested PMJ cover this song. Just because it's a popular song doesn't mean it'll sound good like this.

I'm latina, I don't find nothing wrong with their pronuntiation. Personally, what I don't like it's the arregament for the male voice. I think it would be better if the cover only had her voice. The male voice sonds too "pop" so kinda sounds weird for this music genre.

In this instance I am a Latin woman, and know this song as a very low class song...but where the lyrics are sexual without being obscene.. which is unusual in this genre.
