i am not familiar with how most people build decks and i am definetly not intelligent enough to properly judge this but for me it seems like raikas best flow is raika starter -> other archtype extender -> raika link climb I really wanted to use it with ogdoadic but struggled a lot. The most consistent way for me was beetrooper and predaplant. Attempting to go into the boss monster of other archetypes tended to be very sensitive to hand traps or left the board anemic.
For Ogdoadic, I run instant fusion/2x ready fusion/instant contact and tenyi shthanas to go into bahamut shark. I run 1 serpentine princess and reptilianne gardna to be searched with reptilianne lamafications. Since nightsword serpent is a water anyway. Just as a way to play around nibiru.
I got into the game again in 2022 and beetroopers were one of the earliest decks I built from scratch, so it holds a special place in my heart. Loving the ragnaraika engine. Pre-raika, I mostly used it as a casual deck, so I had it at 60 cards. I wanted to have as much gas as possible while minimizing the bricky big insects. It doesn't really put up enough of an unbreakable board to do that effectively, unfortunately. Some cards that I had included that might be considerations: - Krawler Soma. It adds two bricks, but they work as discard fodder for Picofalena anyway, and soma can do it's thing while they are in GY. Flipping a monster down isn't a huge deal if you can just tribute it with Altas, or fuse it away with landing. - I never really see anyone use multiplication of ants. I mostly have it because it was in my insect deck as a kid, but it just turns something like your normal summon into an additional body. Worse in raika variants though since you open way fewer insects. - Infinite Antlion is one that I probably have to take out. It lets you potentially use an additional resonance insect effect, and you can send it away for great moth, but it's a little annoying to actually get out since you basically need resonance insect access anyway, and often needs your normal summon to get out. - Gokipole -> gokipon to pop while also extending. I'm thinking I might change it to a Beetrooper centric ragnaraika deck though. I'm wondering if there's a way to efficiently use mole cricket -> camellia send tree for naturia blessing to synchro into beast on opponent's turn.
For the last idea it could be doable. You can use the good old Picofal to draw chain Cicada King to get into any insect from hand or GY, ya gotta foolish him with resonance though.
I've always loved Insects and returned to the game when I saw this archetype and man I feel like bugs are so close to at least being decently rogue but Konami just hates the typing. Great video btw
Man we're getting Rescue Bug in the future xD, google splitting planarian. Upcoming fall promo. Btw he showed an incorrect combo too (he even says it's a basic thing), konami doesn't hate insects, we're getting busted support lol
Ragna Raika is likely harder xeno locked because they get access to Jasmine for searches and Snake Rain for graveyard stacking compared to anything for Beast, Winged-Beast, Beast-Warriors.
Have been exploring raika bees for a while. It has a lot of depth that you didn't show and honestly i don't expect anyone to show it since insect combos are way too long for any human being. It feels pretty good, scary moth remains the mvp, sadly, but not having backrow negates really bites your ass. The new level 4 is very good, too. I'm currently trying to figure a way to play around nib, best I've got is to turbo apollousa Then make picofalena, but you gotta use soma for those lines, so idk if it's worth it, plus they don't rly work with raika. What I chose to do was to give up on makin raika actually be the Main engine but use it has handtrap bait, and It works very well.
Theres a really unorthodox starter combo utilizing cyclor and dryads to get to seed but it feels really anemic compared to searching methods for other archetypes.
The thing is is that its been teased that there is gonna be another main deck reptile because the ocg has a link 3 that doesnt have a main deck version yet. Hope that also gives the reptile version some extra options
At the moment ive got a decent beetrooper raika deck that ends on the Link 5, Beargram and the pop, definitely needs more support and hope it has more payoffs
@@TCGNistro personally I find the bricks a little too crazy to sacrifice for the consistency, also at 1:21:20 you mentioned how you wanted a way to Herald, you can actually use the Battlewasp engine for that with a NS with Sting the poison and Pin the Bullseye, make Martial Metal Marcher, bring back Pin and then make herald
I wish that line worked but metal marcher brings back tuners not non tuners, i also dont see soft bricks in beetrooper as a big deal since evil seed and bloom basically reset the hand anyways
I wish they only locked you if you used the recursion effect. Hell, even if the first effect locked you then it'd be way better, that way you can climb then recur them after you've built your board with some material left over so the trap search will be live
@@TCGNistro yea you can the usual route with sera and holeutea. Ooor i like to run parallel ex, Free rafflesia. Run a aromaseraphy jasmin to bridge u into the evil seed if u dont draw it and its GG
the RaikaTrooper deck is so fun, with the new support too being able to draw 3 during endphase is gonna be so gas

Awesome video man! This archetype i think shows some real promise in the future.

What do you think about having hunting dance, evo singularity and planet virus. Seems bricky?
You don't need all 3 in the same list,
But evol stuff is convenient and so is hunting dance, but planet is stronger than both if it survives
Do Selene Snapper/Wicked Butterfly change anything of what was said here?
@@furiouszealot No, they're just extra names that you can utilize, they don't change much about the strategy itself

Is there a time stamp for the reptile deck list?
Unfortunately there is only bug, Ogdoadic is a harder deck to put together
@@TCGNistro gotcha, what would you recommend for the Evo ratios?

3 Lios
1 Megachirella or 2 Najasho
1 Misc
1 Aminadorned
1 Singularity

25:50 Putting a combo together and then showing the it's illegal is pointless honestly. Just remove it while editing because it's a waste of time.
