Guys this car is something else. This is the best SUV on the market today. My friends bought one immediately after test driving it. They got the 1.6 version with 145kw and 290nm. We went to Cape Town from JHB. 4 adults and lots of luggage. We averaged 7.3 litres per 100kms. Did the same trip in a new Rav4 also and the Rav averaged 7.7. So the Chery was lighter on fuel. The Chery is quiet inside and feels like you're flying above the road. It drives so well and overtakes with ease. Fuel consumption is not as bad as people think and is actually better than Toyotas. Also, the new Tiguan has been having so many issues. Check the overseas owners groups. The Chery has had none. Just saying.
It is indeed a fantastic car though I feel it is a little sensitve for this kind of surfaces. I honestly don't think there is a 7-seater that offers as much as it does for it's price. I mean this is a million rands offering at 30% discount. I was never lucky with the fuel consumption on the 2.0L engine here, even the FWD was thirsty. I will need a lot more open road driving to see figures like those but glad you see value in it because it does offer value for money
@@sebuwam Most cars these days feel sensitive for these surfaces. Even our Rav4 doesn't feel like it likes a dirt road. Too much rattling and stuff moving. But anyway. I must also say that my friends Tiggo 8 was heavy on fuel when they first got it. After about 6000kms the engine felt more lively and loose and the fuel consumption improved. Just to note, our Rav4 is a naturally aspirated 2 litre with much less power and torque than the Chery and it averages above 10 litres per 100kms in city driving. So the Chery really isn't bad. Toyotas aren't light on fuel either unless it's a hybrid and funny that no one says anything about that.
thank you for yet another banger today. I am sorry Sebuwa Gravel wont turn me away I love this car thank you Cherry this package is by far one of the best buy in South Africa I don't know how many I see on the road and everytime am just amazed I hope it was just this unit because you can hear from the dash some sound or could it be the suspension being stiff amazing review
Kill me now😂😂😂, look I can't argue with that, seeing it coming from the rear view mirror and also from behind, it just looks stunning this thing. The AWD and The engine do complete it. I just think it needs the last tight turn on the screws for me to be completely sold. Overall though, it is a good car.👌🏾
Wonderful car. I like how it drives on gravel and I’d look at it as somebody who comes from a no tar village, trips back home wouldn’t an issue. Will be interesting to see how well it’ll do down the line. Yona le koloi Buti Mpho. 👌🏾
Yeah, for occassional gravel trips it will do, but not for regular use on gravel. Glad they put this AWD system here because it has so much power. Thank you so much😊🙌🏾
Great review as always Sebuwa, I've seen other reviewers who say their fuel consumption is around 9 around town. Maybe the one you're driving still needs to drive a bit
Thank you so much Vincent, much appreciated. I have never been lucky with Chery shame, my fuel consumption is always high, I need to learn how to drive with fuel economy in mind😅
Hi, I don't think Haval still has those in fleet, I have H6 GT on gravel, since its the same engine and AWD set-up maybe it can assist for now? Till the H6 facelift comes
if you are doing unsealed roads... get a diesel 4x4 ladder frame truck like a hilux or fortuner... i think the 'tinny-ness' in the video is the fact this Chery weighs only 1.75 ton... overall this is probably the best chinese 3 row 4wd 'softroader' but there's some questions about the DCT longevity... they should have went with an 8 spd conventional automatic
Eish, if there is one thing that I would change in this car is going to be the rear view mirror coz the visibility from it its so terrible to a point where you can't see the full rear ahead as it is so small.
@@sebuwam I took it for a test drive last week and I am telling you the rearview mirror is so terrible to a point where I ignore it and look at my side mirror frequently. But I enjoyed the car. Funny thing is when I started driving it, it felt so big to a point where I had to be careful driving it in tight corners🤣🤣🤣. But with time I got used to it😂
This car is luxurious 🔥😍 I'm collecting mine on the 28th November 2024, I can't wait for my Cherry Tiggo 8 promax ❤

Finally!!! The car of my dreams ❤
May God bless you with it😊
The AWD makes it a complete package indeed...it was also good, but now is much better...🙏🙏🙏
The AWD does make it compete further than it initially hit. This is a real contender for anyone looking for a 7 seater👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
If not sebuwa then who❤❤
❤❤❤🙂

2.0T AWD here in Australia is a class above all its competitors
Its slowly climbing up even here in SA.
Cherry should actually thank you for this review 😅😅. I'd buy it with my eyes closed ❤❤❤.
😂😂😂 thank you so much. They need to hear this❤

Please test drive the Haval H6 Premium AWD off-road/ gravel road and if possible on a muddy road. Thank you in advance
Hi, I don't think Haval still has those in fleet, I have H6 GT on gravel, since its the same engine and AWD set-up maybe it can assist for now? Till the H6 facelift comes
Which one handled the gravel better between the H6 GT vs Chery AWD?
H6GT did everything better honestly

I'm waiting for ford raptor 2024 long video
It's finally up and running as I respond here. Sorry it took so long😊❤
Does it have an option to fit it with a tow bar? For a bike rack…
I've seen some with tow bars, Yes!
U should do a Hyundai i30n next
I would love to but Hyundai does not respond to emails yoh, even for a simple small car😢
Sebuwa M, when doing the POV videos, are you using a specific camera or smartphone?
Yes, my POVs are shot with GoPro or DJI Osmo Action cameras

Yoh, when the night falls it becomes useless honestly, I know they are trying to cover the whole car (as it's long) but it really is an issue

hi what colour car is this?
How does it compare to the XUV700?
I honestly think V
XUV700 has an edge on overall composure on the road and the solid feel offroad but this will edge it on tech and looks.
Pls do bmw 340i
Would love to, will hold fingers to get my hands on it someday soon🤞🏾
Hopefully there is no rattles😂
Well, they were there but not as much as I thought, so it's a pass
