Dunkleosteus is not only our now most primitive creature in the game, its also the first non-reptile! Fingers crossed for a cenozoic DLC, which could theoretically still have a chance of having Megalodon, but time will tell.

Well, not exactly as Dimetrodon is a form of primitive mammal and not a reptile. This also applies to Lystrosaurus as well.
@gusdaner9874 Well, that's actually a bit murky right now. They definitely don't have the right features to be direct ancestors of mammals, but they aren't quite reptiles either. The last I had heard about this was that they were classified as non-mammal synapsids. I meant that this was the first creature introduced that was definitively not a reptile, but you're right in the broad strokes.
@@Mildnumber4444 Synapsids evolved directly from Amphibians, so Dimetrodon and Lystrosaurus are still the first definitively not Reptiles in the game
@@Redraptor0001 They are mammal-like reptiles, though. Reptiles is not a cladistic term. That said, I don't consider dinosaurs reptiles anyway.
I think that part of the free update could be kelp because that is worthy of being hyped up and the archelon are turtles and turtles don’t eat fish or sharks, meaning that if they are like other herbivores in the game, they would eat straight off of kelp. Of course, they may also add a jellyfish feeder but kelp is way more cool.

Actually want the kelp more since we been needing a planter to help cover the bottom of the aquarium.
But honestly not giving herbivorous options for the Archelon kinda sucks, I mean they made the insectivore feeder exclusively for the Jehlopterus so I don't see why they couldn't do that here to
One of my hopes with the lagoon islands is for us to have mosasaurus bask leaning against it like in Prehistoric Planet. It’d also be funny if they provide two body types for Dunk- Big Dunk or Shrunk Dunk
I feel like since they specifically left out Megalodon, they could potentially be saving it for later?
I don't want to get my hopes up but a Cenozoic pack could be home to the Meg in this game.
I only hope Basilosaurus finds it's way here eventually.

I’m genuinely glad they decided to add the dunk instead of the Meg 🤩 It might have been that they wanted to stretch their creatively & the Meg that people recognise is often depicted as just a massive great white shark. Also, their teaser that included a goat in the last frame could be a hint towards an extinct mammal pack (which will integrate the sabretooth from Camp Cretaceous) 🙊

I kinda still believe that the Meg is gonna make it into the game. Since the regular pattern for species packs was 2 land creatures, one flying creature and one marine creature. But I could be wrong about this. Although I‘d really love a hunters pack with Utahraptor, Concavenator, Hatzegopteryx and Megalodon. Something I‘ve wished for since the last DLC
Given the hype for megalodon yesterday, I doubt they wouldn't take advantage. They'd make money💰

I feel like it would ve the aquatic species for a Cenozoic pack. If we get a Cenozoic pack and not Megalodon that's when I am giving up hope for getting it.
Knew it was gonna be the Shonisaurus, nice to have the giant ichthyosaur.
The Archelon is also a good addition... and especially the underwater viewing domes.
Dunk's tail appearance has changed over the years at first in 2007 they gave it that eel-like tail but then from 2017 - present they've now given it a more regular fish/shark tail.
Nothosaurus is finally here! I’ve waited for this! And customisable lagoon!
As you said, this would’ve been the perfect time to add the megalodon... which makes me a touch suspicious. It would’ve been perfect to add in the base game, as well as being perfect for this DLC. That makes me think that maybe they’re holding out on us, that it will come, but not now.
My two ideas for how it could come about are another jurassic franchise pack (unlikely, as a new movie won’t be coming out for a while), or, the much more exciting possibility, a Cenozoic species pack. Smilodon is already in the franchise and people would love it, Megalodon is an obvious choice to add in, and a Mammoth and Coelodonta/Elasmotherium would be fan favorites to add in. Still kind of unlikely as I don’t think the JWE2 devs would add in mammals, but still a fun thing to think about nonetheless
Edit: Another thing to add to the idea of Megalodon being held back is that they seem to be teasing us about it. They gave the Dunk a shark-like caudal fin, and when they show it off in the trailer, they don’t show it off in the first shot of it. Each of the other marine species gets a big focus clip immediately, but the Dunk gets a clip showing its back, kinda making it a little ambiguous until they showed the face and the big ol chompers
Edit 2: another thing that I find weird is the specific “PREHISTORIC marine species pack”, as if the “prehistoric” part is special. Remember, they didn’t do that with the feathered species pack. Another idea is that maybe Megalodon could come in the free update as a little bonus creature, like how they did occasionally in Planet Zoo? Unlikely, but they seem very excited for the features of the update
Really wanted an Ammonite or Orthoceras but still glad with what we got especially the Archelon and Nothosaurus

I hope we get dlc and updates focused on park tlc. Attractions, enclosure customization, dino intractables and animations. Maybe even new types of vehicles and park worker functions like cleaning paths. More stuff to make it a tycoon. Awesome new dlc and new update nonetheless
I think animations updates are especially vital. Like, why are the staff riding the tours regularly?

I just want the guests and park staff to have more interesting (and realistic) behaviors. I would not be that hard to program animations for looking awed and pointing at *actual stuff* instead of doing it at random, or having staff group up with guests and appearing to run tours.

This will probably won’t happen but maybe in the free update it will include a Megalodon. Since I think it is the most wanted they may give it to us for free so everyone can have it. 🤞
I kinda hope a ice age themed campaign for winter, it would be cool to have mammoth and smilodon

It’s so strange seeing big dunk again, it looks beautiful though!
At last, the true leviathan among marine reptiles, the 21-meter Shonisaurus is here to put the upstart Mosasaurus in its place. So good seeing Dunkleosteus, our first prehistoric fish and the perfect representative. A surprise seeing Nothosaurus, but not an unwelcome one. And of course the granddaddy hero-in-a-halfshell, Archelon (you bet your nose I'm making seven of them in appropriate-if-possible colors and naming them Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, Venus de Milo, Slash, and Tokka).
Honestly! I’m pumped for the Dunk over the Meg, as a Shark lover the Meg would be fun but I feel like it takes away from that prehistoric feel. So I’m glad, though the Arch looks like a Sea Turtle but I do enjoy the idea of the Dunk over the Meg.
I’m sooo excited for the dunk and turtle mostly, can’t wait for turtle go on land, I wonder what animations it will have 🎉
I think that, because the meg was after the extinction event at the end of the mesazoic, it wasnt included in the pack.
Frontier might consider it to be too recent and similar to a modern animal to have it in Jurassic park

Definitely LOVING what we're hearing for both the DLC and free update! FINALLY we're getting the amphitheatre to place in any of our sandbox parks! And looks like we can finally get a small dino petting zoo!
Still holding out hope for the rest of alternate Legacy skins from the Return To Jurassic Park DLC for the OG Jurassic dinosaur variants (Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus, Anky, and Pteranodon), plus some alternate skins and patterns for the Malta Allosaurus.
What about little eatie skin for the t Rex we're still missing the the little eatie skin

It was perfect perfect down to the last minute detail 😢 it's sooooo beutifull also just the other day I said to a freind we will get a underwater dome in dlc as I felt it was over due and obvious and I'm so happy its made my day

The addition of Nothosaurus makes me think that we could have Spinoceratops in a hybrid DLC that could also include the JWE's missing hybrids.
Evo, I think the shark that we saw in the 1st Teaser Trailer Could have been a new type of feeder where sharks can swim around in the lagoon like in one of the original Jurassic World Posters.
The tylosaurus from JP: The Game would've been killer too. Wish this was an expansion but it's an amazing pack regardless
This is a huge improvement to the game. I don’t use lagoons as they are quite the eyesore if I’m honest and I’ve gotten a little bored of the same species so I’m happy to see an improvement for them!
I think we might get a Cenozoic species pack or expansion. It’s pretty sus that frontier avoids any Cenozoic creature, even if they are in the Jurassic franchise. But they are not afraid to add Paleozoic creatures (dimetrodon, and dunky). So I think we might get a Cenozoic species pack

Really, cuz I’m pretty sure that we will get at least 1 more, because frontier stated in their financial report they stated that they will keep posting content throughout 2023, and they have a 3 month release schedule. Today is august, and three months from now will be November, so we should at least get one final DLC

More Triassic beasties, more additions to lagoons, the dunk, who I've loved since I was a little kid, I'm very happy! Looking forward to see what additional goodies will be added in the update!
Your idea of what they might do with the missing camp cretaceous species could also apply to the missing Dominion species like the microceratus
I agree with you but if the video says there won't be a mantah corp pack then what update will it be, because if there's no mantah corp pack then how will the missing prehistoric animals such as the tarbosaurus, spinoceratops, mircroceratus, prehistoric locust,and the smilodon aka the famous saber toothed cat appear to the Jurassic world evolution 2 without the mantah corp pack?and be honest I feel bad 😞😔 for it it will be such a shame that the mantah corp pack won't be in the game so that we can see those cool B.R.A.D.S,B.R.A.D X ,biomes,snow vehicles,and the mantah corp island.
I feel like it should have been FIVE species, since we have one big guy & three small guys. The fifth would have been Megalodon.
Looking forward to the free update with the lagoon dome, though, I hope there's a JP variant or entrance. That, & I hope the JP amphiteatre will have different variants for each biome.

I find it funny that the first thing I do when I see anything JWE2 related is instinctively go to your channel. I can't wait for the dunkleosteus(I think I spelt it right), the archelons, and the nothasaurus(how do you even spell this? Did I get it right?) with its funny little flipper feet.😂 keep up the good work evo😅
This aquatic pack is amazing and to me it completes the aquatic species library. Jurassic park/world is based on the Mesozoic era so the meg wouldn’t belong in the game but it would be a really cool addition that people would love.

Nothosaurus means that tanystropheus and other small marine species have a chance to appear
That moment when you realize the JWE2 models are quite possibly the best artistic depiction of many, if not most, of these species
I am so glad I was right about Notho and the Dunk! I am a bit disappointed to not have the Meg but Shonisaurus and Archelon are definitely cool

My top 3 DLC wishlist Permian DLC with at least these 3 animals included Edaphosaurus, Inostrancevia and Scutosaurus. A separate Paleozoic DLC for non-Permian animals such as Arthropleura. Lastly a Triassic DLC with animals such as Plateosaurus and Postosuchus.
What do you guys think? Would you guys like to have these packs in JWE2?

@wearealldomed3565 why wouldn't I be happy? You mean Megarachne? It was originally identified as a Spider, however Megarachne was reassigned as a freshwater-dwelling eurypterid.

That viewing Dome gives me JP the game vibes and I love it. The Islands for semi aquatics were my idea a few months ago, I don't know if they seen that post but either way I'm happy they're in.❤️🔥

As someone who sucks at campaign chaos theory, and pretty much everything else I am so happy I get to use the other maps
I personally have some resistance against non-mezozoic species in the game and it doesn't mean I'm not happy with Dunkleosteus or would be with Megalodon or even some caboniferous giant bugs, it's just that I would be happier if they had included a xiphactinus or a deinosuchus (this one almost made it to the movies so would be great)
Seeing my big boi Dunk in here and the fact we have another Paleozoic animal seriously brings me hope we get a Cenozoic animal in here (terror bird in DEFINITELY waiting for you)! Also I’m glad Paleozoic and Triassic animals are starting to get recognition because they are seriously VERY underrated!

Then opening the door with the Dunk makes me think about how many non-reptile species I wanted when first hearing about the lagoons. So many prehistoric marine animals that are great. There's large ammonites and orthocones that would be pretty neat.

I'm still pretty excited about this PDLC. I feel like there could've still been an extra 5th animal included since the lagoons don't have many species anyways, but we get what we get. I haven't played jwe2 in awhile and these additions might get me to play again

I have just read the free update form and its SOO good nothing insane just good. The fact that you can mark your fav dinosaur is so cool. And the custom challangemode settings make me SOO happy since i have completed every challangemode level. The new lagoon viewing dome looks cool and is good for viewing coverage cuz i am strungling with that in my c mode parks. Dont forget the dinosaur guest hostility u can now make petting zoos without the guests being scared. This is a W update in my opinion.

The underwater viewing gallery kinda reminds me of the dome from jurassic Park the game
