- We all love saving time and money, so let me explain my most expensive progression mistakes in BDO. Learn from my failures and save yourself the shortcomings. It already takes thousands of hours to get to end game, so why not save a few billion silver on the way. Hope you enjoy the video and let me know what your biggest mistakes were in BDO!
This might be entirely dependant on class but I personally feel like the resource potion is better to grind for first after you have the infinite mini HP potion. Something about constantly chugging resource potions really makes your grinding more efficient and at lower gear spots you very rarely actually need any HP potions at all.
Agreed, it's definitely worth getting your resource pot at lower ap. I actually have to buy mana pots when I grind with my zerk. I'm just stuck on doinf things in order, so it never crossed my mind to go after the mana pot once I had the weaker version of the HP potion. Great advice. Thanks for sharing with the community 👍
personally u dont need the Mana pot when u can just add on a Skill ADD on that gives MP back on a buffing skill you use per mob group. Like currently Maegu burns alot of MP but i have MP +10 on hit skill add on on her RMB and it gives you pretty much the whole mana bar back. Definitely get the HP pot, but the Mana pot, meh.
@@alonzobanks7046 Definitely agreed on the skill addons but don't put the mana pot off for too long, the more you wait the less efficient it will be to sit at tshira or manshaums. Try and get it when you're low and not making diddly silver/per hour anyways and you'll be better off in the long run
In my opinion I think which pot you need changes with your gear, like you said at low ap spots you don’t really need to chug HP pots when you aren’t really getting hit. But when you start going to spots that require full combos to Jill you can entirely ditch the MP pot and just use 4 spirit perfumes an hour and you’ll never need another MP pot again. But you’ll crutch on that HP pot hard when it takes entire skill rotations to kill one pack, and only 2 or 3 hits to kill you.
i love your bdo videos, dude. you're right on the money with the final point about understanding stats. half the questions i see people ask are like, "why is my grind so bad" and they are running suboptimal builds and lazy buffs and they don't understand how much it matters.
Yes, once I understood how the atat system really works, my silver per hour blew up. I went from 17.5k at orcs to 23k. Hopefully, I'll be hitting 25k on a yellow soon. Just about capped out on monster ap. Then I'll be able to run some extra demi human dmg as well. Thanks for the feedback, I love these uplifting comments!

I'm mostly a lifeskill pleb, grind ~20% of the time, wish I got around to getting the infinite HP pot earlier, almost a must have for hunting.
Yeah, I've heard that from some of my veteran friends who hunt. Some of them are grinding two pots just bc of homich easier they are to get with the pity system now. Gl on your grind!! As always, thank you for your feedback 👍

@BowserStrange when you complete the Magnus Abyss One questline, you obtain one piece of PEN armor of your choice. Open your black spirit, and it should be avalibe under main quest. There are lots of guides online. Just search it on YT. I think Evildousharm has a good one.

@putmangaming5672 I used 113s for the Distos, and a 225 (I think) for the Valtarra. I actually meant to use crons for the earrings, but I just forgot to click the box and got lucky

My biggest beginner mistakes was my obsession to preorder all the outfits available even I don't have character slots for them. *looks at unopened Sage, Musa, Lahn, zerk, etc. boxes*

Little note to your DIm vs Red nose point. This applies rly only IF you either get the armour for free via Magnus, or make it yourself. The moment you buy it at PEN, the market compensates for most of the difference where you probably only might save a couple 100mill.
BDO via Season does give little hints on what you should do, but has a terrible execution on it.
So from the point of view from a player that is around for 4+ years by now i would do it like this:
- max out season (obviously), once gear is full PEN use the rest to dip into lifeskills. The buffs you get as a season is decent and it will boost you up quite quick + you have time either way.
- grind for both pots. There is very little point to even bother with another spot before you have them.
- grind for Arch-map / Compass (id recommend Arch map first).
- AFTER season ends and you are able to progress your gear further, get to 281 / 289AP on kutum and start grinding Elvia for your Cups (Orcs = red / Den = yellow / Fogan = blue). Keep burning your agris at map / compass spots.
- start pushing DP to make elvia spots more relaxing. IF you get close to C10 armour / helm, consider shifting your agris burn to jade / turo.
- once all that is done, start with calphia for the alch stone cups.
NOW once that is all done you might as well start your pure silver grind. There is absolutly no reason to start grinding for only silver before that. You will burn out and feel like a noob when you sit at 750GS at sulfer. Also silver WILL flood in no matter what you do.
This way you will always have pretty much 1 long term goal to aim for and at the very least 1 "short term" goal. This means that even if you cant progress in overall raw gear, you will still progress in other meaningfull ways (be it cups, treasure drops, caphras, flames, etc).
Ofcourse, mix in lifeskills as needed / wanted.
why should i mix in lifeskills if they give like 250m per hour while grinding gives 2b or 1b in low zones
@@Platzhalterxy there is not a single 2b per hour grind spot ingame as of now, and the only sustainable "1b per hour" spots are high end hexe / troll / gyfin grinders.
With enough gear orcs gets you closer to 600-700mil per hour.
Pretty much every other spot, be it Jade, elvia, calvia, Pila, Sulfer and so on hovers around the 500mil mark +/- 100mil depending on rota and overall gear.
Just check Garmoth for that, and dont be fooled to think you can sustain orcs with agris for example.
Can you reach 1b at cents? yes with buffs that you CANNOT sustain even a little bit, aka agris coins and 300%+ droprate for example. Else its your basic 500-600mil spot.
So sry but the notion of "you can make 1b on low end spots" is just not true.
So why should you mix in lifeskills? For one, because they are not as far off as you think. Sure afk or semi afk lifeskills like processing, fishing, farming or training isnt insane money, but still stacks up for doing very little. Trade runs are still very nice and worth billions for doing basicly nothing every few months.
Gathering at certain spots will give you your 300-500mil per hr as well, high mastery hunting rivals high end trolls / hexe currently.
Self made imp guru crates are easy 200mil+ per day for very little work overall.
Also keep in mind, there might come a day (which we had happen before) where one of those lifeskills might be the next "best" thing to do for a few months (bartering, deer gathering a while ago). Do you rly wanna miss out on that when it happens again?
And you know, just to break up the grind. Very little fun if the only thing you do is grind all day long. There is no need to rush either way, might as well use and enjoy the tools a games offers you. Silver and gear will flood in regardless and as time goes on, gear will come easier and easier (like 2 years ago grinding gahaz at 270AP was considered godlike, now its nearly free gear).

Should be soon since a new class drops today, and ppl will be enhancing the new weapons. I have around 8 to 10 billion in enhancement materials. Well if you purchasing Dim Tree he will be cheaper on this 3-4 bil than Red Nose, it's need take it Nose only if you making it from Jetina.

I've come back a month ago went from 620gs to 660gs(no disto 281k/381) just grind 2-3 hours a day if you want to make progress I like to make 1.5b-2b a day which I can do in 2-3 hours of grinding orcs, my advice is to go for tet disto sooner then later I feel like with the ap missing I can do much more trash/h
Extra ap against monster is a huge asset, though. Are you running blackstar wepons? What is your total monster ap after all your buffs and crystals? Garmoth.com also has a monster ap soft cap chart now, so you can push your ap to the max for big silver gains!! Good advise with infinite pot is to do weekly quests on spot where u dont grind, i mean to grind for example wolfs and do weekly on other spot to avoid getting full piece after weekly done
I had the exact mistake like yours, i picked a pen Dim tree from Magnus reward, and i caphrased it to 10. For whatever fckin reason PA said that only this armor piece will be way more expensive to caphras. rip 3bil

lmao i noticed the jetina scam once i researched the cost of free pen gear, they said it was gonna be 40bil just for the material alone not including the memory fragments 'cost' and those fragment's aren't even easy to obtain

This would be great to know if I didn’t predominately do life skilling and fighting garmoth 3 times a week. Also how does one get red nose armour? I got dimtree TET from season. Although is not PEN yet so I have time.
You can complete the Jetina questline for 2 pieces of guaranteed PEN armor and the complete the magnus questline for the third, and after that, you want to purchase the last piece from the central market. to me, draught and bring around 150hp pot is totally enough to regen in 1hour grinding in end spot
but it is still worth to grind it if your gs is low
The infinite pot allows you to have an insane level of survivability that regular potions can't give, simply for the fact you can have them triggering nonstop even at full life. This allows you to grind at more difficult areas where you normally wouldn't have the DP... where with regular potions, once they inevitably run out you'll just die and lose crystals. It's also insanely valuable for hunting lifeskill. It's one of those things you don't think you need it until you have it, then it feels bad playing with normal potions anymore.
Total agree with Jeremy here. It's similar to the continuous care skill on fairy. Once you have it, you don't wanna go back. It's very worth right after seasons, too, bc the spits aren't bad silver for that GS. Thanks for the feedback, BDO fam!!

So what do I do?
I took the PEN Dim from Magnus. I am a returning player with full TET Boss gear (all marketable). Do I just buy PEN red nose or sink the extra caphras into the PEN Dim?
The magnus armor box is not exchangeable if you have opened it and equipped it. Your only option is to utilize the armor you have. At least you will have some extra hp on your grind up. You would spend more buying another piece of armor than you would just using the magnus armor. Also, I would recommend going with two pieces of guarantee jetina armor. Sell your 2 tet pieces, and then enhance your fourth piece to PEN. You will make plenty of silver grinding for jetina, so buy caphras with that and get c10 armor and helmet. Hope this helps. I would go for C9 on gloves and boots. C10 only gives +1 hidden evasion and +10hp from C9. Not worth it considering going from C9 to C10 is almost 4b if caphras are on max price.
That's true, I was saying c10 so that when the fallen god armor comes out, you will be ready. I guess c9 on the boots would be good, though.

Aye, don't feel bad. I did the same thing only to realize it was an inconvenience in the end. It's not game breaking, but it is not necessary imo. Keep grinding. You will be at c10 in no time.

It definitely helps you enter higher level grind zones with lower dp. Of course, you could buy pots, but the qol improvement is insane.
so, for the potion, if you arent doing ronaros weekly, grinding blood wolves during the day and going to sherkhan at night, you are actively choosing to waste time. the reason you do ronaros weekly and grind blood wolves is because it takes significantly less time to run from wolves to sherkhan than it does to run from ronaros to sherkhan. also sherkhan night has a MICH higher drop rate for both the actual piece AND the pitty pieces.
