Don't sweat the haters man. Keep doing your thang and your channel will keep growing, it's just a matter of time. I like your easy going style and clear explanation of things. Looking forward to part 2! 😆
Biggest factor in DIY lawn care is knowing exactly what was put down, when it was put down, and the timing makes the most sense for your lawn not just when they can fit you into the schedule. There's an immense amount of value in that
Besides saving some dough caring for your own lawn I enjoy tackling my lawn for the exercise. I'm 56 years old and lawn care is a good workout for me. New sub here.
Thank you for the sub. Lawn care does have a bunch of benefits too! Nothing beats throwing on some music and mowing the stress of the day away. It’s great exercise too. Thank you for watching!!
Absolutely, they are linked on my website TheDIYLawnCoach.com I purchased several years ago but they are called the nozzle buddy now, don’t think they were called that back then. Or here is a direct link. gciturfacademy.com/collections/diy-spray-equipment/products/copy-of-gci-turf-wide-spray-nozzle1?rfsn=7909251.4cec2ee
What’s up Devin. New subscriber here cuz of this video. I appreciate the breakdown on the cost. That gave me more confidence that I’m doing it the right way. I just started taking care of my lawn this year rather than paying a company to do it. Great videos. I’m finding out more and more about how to properly take care of the lawn with these videos.
Hey bro you the man so easy to understand and with 1 year of paying for a pro company you can actually factor in the tool that you need, sprayer, mower, etc👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I understand breaking it down by once. But you cant buy it by the exact once you need. There is definitely a heavier investment in buying and stocking the products you need but your results will be better but you are going to spend more than what you would pay for true green or what have you to come out. Mainly because you are going to be doing more and doing it more often. Having a nice lawn is expensive, and that's just the truth of the matter. That's not even counting for paying for the extra water for the lawn. Water in my area is extremely expensive. I still do it like most watching these types of channels but people need to know what they are getting themselves into to try to achieve the results they see in these lawn videos. Especially for high square footage lawns like mine that is 15K square feet.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yeah water cost vary by location. Fortunately, here, it’s not that bad and it’s affordable. But yes, like most hobbies, lawn care is expensive.
Agree that their are other cost, but it is still cheaper to D.I.Y. Great video to understand and breakdown the high cost of product. Used Tru Green for a year. Their invoice itemized each product, application rate, and time of the year 😊. Even with buying a backpack sprayer, I breakeven the first year. Big savings for me well over $1,000 in the next two years as I already purchased the products. Which is why the video is valuable to cost per application
Just subbed. Nice breakdown of the cost of the "minimum" things needed to have a decent lawn but you left out so many other things that can make this cost go up significantly especially for those of us with large yards that we want to look good. I recently moved into our new home last year that has a lawn size of just under 20,000 sq ft and in order to get my yard up to my standards I had to have 6 yards of topsoil/compost mixture hauled in for overseeding, (2) 50 bags of Jonathan Green Black Beauty grass seeds, starter fertilizer, Tenacity herbicide, seeding straw and peat moss, etc. I know that all of these may not need to be repeated but some may need to be done again until the yard is fully established. Your breakdown covers the maintenance but even that doesn't include overseeding and the cost to keep the grass watered (lucky for me that we're using well water). Like you said in the video, this isn't even including equipment cost. What if you need to aerate and dethatch? Do you rent, buy the equipment, or hire someone to do it? Obvious either option you choose is gonna cost ya. Having said all this I just don't trust anyone else taking care of my yard. 😆 I'm looking forward to checking out your channel and keep up the great content.
Thank you for watching and the sub. I appreciate your feedback. I have only had to dethatch once due to fungus cleanup, so did that by hand. When it comes to aeration, I have a pull behind plugger that I hook up to my mower. Ill make a video on that later in the year. 💯 agree with you on not including every cost, video would have been an hour long and nobody wants to watch me for that long😂.
@kenqman thanks again for the kinds words, its hard to put yourself out there for the world to critique. There might be a “Lawn Care Cost Part 2” who knows?!?!

1,000% agree with you on that. Thank you so much for watching. Timing is EVERYTHING in lawncare.

You show basically two tips for your backpack sprayer. Which two tips are they and can you provide a link for them?
Absolutely, they are linked on my website TheDIYLawnCoach.com I purchased several years ago but they are called the nozzle buddy now, don’t think they were called that back then.

Thats awesome to hear. That makes it all worth it. Thank you for watching!!
Those prices to have a company do it seem pretty inexpensive. Def much more inexpensive than lawn care here in Winnipeg, Canada.
Yeah, im sure different parts of the country charge different. I also found that they vary wildly what applications they make. Thanks for watching!

Not to mention it is so much more fun to do it yourself. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!
