Bittersweet Rinse and Repeat!
I am so excited for next season already.
Me too with a plan in hand 😉
@ 😉
I'm in the market for a good push mower. Been looking at the Toro Timemaster 30 inch self-propelled mower. Any recommendations?
@kenqman highly recommend. I owned one for 3 years and LOVED it. I only sold it to use that money towards the mower I have now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks Greg, hope you had a good one too sir!

We do thousands of ornamentals etc in the fall winter in the northeast on the golf courses. We use duct tape and wrap all quick
Thats a great idea too!!! Thank you for sharing!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too David!!
awesome video

Thanks for the Vid !
Absolutely, hope it helps. Sure saves me time!!
@@TheDIYLawnCoach Your content is nice and straight forward. I'm in the same Nitch and its cool to see your making really clean Vids. Next year we are going to kill it and thanks for the content!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’ve learned so much about the is “youtube” things this year. Editing, getting comfortable on camera, titles thumbnails, content… it’s a lot for sure. Im excited for next season.
@@TheLawnMechanic if you would please send me an email at TheDIYLawnCoach@gmail.com I have an opportunity to discuss with you. Thank you!
Awesome house and lawn u take pride in your property !! Looks beautiful
Thank you so much! It’s a labor of love. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!
@TheDIYLawnCoach ofcourse I always give credit where credit is due and yes labor of love for sure I myself am obsessed with the appearance of my home and my lawn I just grew a full kbg lawn I'm in long Island and it is now the talk of the neighborhood 😜 lol it took a lot of patience and a big challenge but it was worth the wait I love it !!!
I talk a lot about patience on my channel. Definitely an underrated aspect of DIY lawn care. Would you consider joining my private FB group TheDIYLawnCoach Group and sharing some photos?
No rain for weeks in NJ killed my overseeding plans this year 😢
Im sorry to hear that. If you cant water and you’re not getting rain, sure makes it tough. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment
@ it’s all good. Learning little by little
P is not allowed to be put down in certain areas. N is all you need in the fall.
True, great comment. For me and my soil test, Freedom made a great choice. Thanks for watching!
Happy Thanksgiving, Brother!! I got my winterizer fertilizer down on 11/17/24 after being mowed on 11/16/24, which has turned out to be the last mow due to frost every morning. I'm putting down my last application of Humic 12 today before a rain coming on Thanksgiving day. Super cold temperatures are coming directly after that, so sadly, this is the last thing to do in the lawn this season. Enjoy your family and friends these holidays, and I look forward to seeing you back in the lawn next spring 😊
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you too Mark! Ive got some great video topics I want to cover over winter so Im not going away. But there definitely won’t be much mowing anymore, thats for sure.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I'm new to this hobby and trying to learn as much as possible too. As well as learning a lot of lessons. For example the first time I spot sprayed my front yard with tenacity I obviously sprayed too much product on the area where weeds were. I'm scared to death I killed some of my tttf?! I'm hoping it's gonna bounce back with time but I'm afraid I'm running out of growing season. My soil temps currently are 55-57 degrees. But a lot of really cold weather is coming. I did a full on renovation this year like you said I have worked my ass off trying to get everything done and done right. The only place that I spot sprayed was my front yard. It all has turned out amazing except for the bleached spots in my front yard do you think they will be ok next spring or do you think I will have to over seed again? One last question I just checked my soils pH and it's anywhere from 3.1 to 4.1. I bought some Jonathan Green magical plus acidic. Should I apply it now or wait till early spring
Thank you so much for tuning in. Every year I learn something new or at least the lawn forces me too, lol. Love to hear from ya.
You may want to purchase a Cart Buddy for your size of yard.
I’ve definitely thought about it. Its just too much money right now. But would be totally worth it!
Um.. poa annua doesn't go to seed in the fall...
It did when it germinated several weeks ago then we had temperatures above 85. It’s crazy i know but I had several videos where i showed it happening.
Does Poa triv stays lime green all year long (throughout its life cycle) or does it get darker and blends with your existing grass coming spring time? Is it something similar to the color of baby grass as it matures is what i mean? My TTTF sod is about 5 years old and overseed every fall just to keep it looking nice but i always have some patches of lime green throughout the lawn as the baby grass is maturing. Is it possible for Poa annua and Poa Trivialis to grow in a soded lawn? I hope i make sense.
It makes sense, baby grass will have a lime green appearance to and sometimes does grow faster than surrounding turf. Matter of fact, I have that happening in my lawn as well speak. Any easy way to tell is give it a light pull. Poa triv will come up very easily and baby grass wont. Also there are differences in the leaf tissue if your really looks close.
Geesus. Your advice is “it really doesn’t matter.” What a waste of time.
Alright then, thanks Dale
He said that it is conditional on where you live and your environment. He gave sound advice regarding height of cut and I know what I should do heading into winter which his advice supports.
I’m in west Michigan and honestly I take my tttf from 3.75 to 3.25 and it always does just fine. People freak out about snow mold but when we get snow it never stays long either. Also, my grass stays really green compared to the scalpers. Thanks and love your channel!
Chad thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment.
My h.o.c. is 2.25 on perennial ryegrass, start of the season to the very end. In WI we usually get plenty of snow. I've had some small patches of snow mold, but like you said, just fluff them up in spring and they go away. Great video!
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Stay warm up there in WI! Brrrr
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! I typically only lower my tttf lawn to around 3 inches for the winter. I, too, am in the western part of North Carolina. Seems to work great for me 😊
Absolutely! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
I live in Oregon and have turf type tall fescue. What would you recommend in regards to mow height for Winter?
I would stick with the same height you mow all year long. Somewhere between 2.5-3.5”
The struggle is real bro 😢!
Fact is; I may need therapy 😂!

😂😂😂😂
Always informative, Bravo, Sir!
Thank you so much! Hopefully with these podcasts we can dive a little deeper into some topics, since we cant do much in the lawn. Trying to do something a little different than most Lawncare channels. Thanks for the support, that means the world to me!!
Did the blitz last fall and it worked great. But you confused me by saying pre-emergence before temp hits 70? Lawn temp is going down in the fall , not up?
Thanks for watching. I appreciate you leaving a comment. Yes we want a pre emergent watered into the soil before soil temperature fall to 70 degrees. Soil temperatures in the summer are higher than 70. If you want to stop Poa Annua in the spring, you have to have pre emergent in the soil prior to soil temperatures reaching 70. Apologize if I confused you.
Your lawn looks great!
Thank you very much. You can have a beautiful lawn too. Just keep watching😉
@ I will. My lawn is looking so much better than it did when we bought this house.
Very crisp edging around your trees!
@ thanks for watching!
What soil temperature is too low? I seeded some rye here in northern illinois 2 weeks ago and it hasn't came up. Soil temp as of today on greencast is 47 degrees. I'm not too worried I'm gonna maybe throw some more down to dormant seed. Just to see if it works
Anything lower than 50, its probably to late. But if the forecast says temps might go up, you could be okay. Rye comes up really fast so you should be fine. Your winters are pretty harsh, it might not all survive. But not gonna hurt, throw’er down!
I have a large lawn similar to you and it definitely is a lot of work to make it look nice. I'm retired so I have plenty of time to spend in it. I couldn't imagine having a 9-5 and putting the work in that do. No way Jose!
Good thing I love it!! But yeah its tough, as you know
Is that you playing the guitar during the first leaf blowing scene? If so, it's mighty relaxing.
🥰
I’m retired so I do something with the lawn 5 out of 7 days a week, even if it’s just raking up the leaves and pine needles these days. Applied iron yesterday. Will definitely be putting down some fungicide if snows this winter.
Buffalo bills or Kansas City tonight?
Lets Go Bills!
trim mow edge.
Sad day for me. Last mow of the season as high is 37 and seeing some possible snow Wednesday in the PNW. I'm happy I was able to hold the same green in mine so late. Your lawn looks great!
Cue the sad music…
😂😂😂😂
Here in Toms River NJ there’s also a blackout period starting Nov 15th. No nitrogen or phosphorus until March. Got my winterizer done on the 13th.
Thats crazy! I’ve never heard of a fertilizer ban in cool season lawns. Do you know of anywhere else(outside of FL) that does a fert ban?
@@TheDIYLawnCoach I’m not sure about the other states. I got my information from the University Extension Office @ Rutgers University here in NJ
Cool thanks!
@ thank you 🙏 I’m new to lawn care so all of the help I get from you is greatly appreciated
@ thats why I do it! Thank you so much for watching!
