    Great video again, loved the chilled out vibe about it.
    I fished lake Bassenthwaite with the PAC about 30 years ago, the place is stunning but the weather wasn't the wind was so bad that there were white caps on the waves and i had a sleepless night hanging on for dear life to my bivvy.
    There was only one fish caught from land and boat that weekend and that wasn't the monster that we were hoping for it was about 9 LB.

      Thanks mate glad you liked it! I’ve never fished bassenthwaite, I hope to soon though. Yeah strong wind always complicates life when fishing doesn’t it!

    Hi adventure fishing UK, just some friendly advice. I can see someone has commented already about better bite indication IE electronic bite alarms etc if fishing ledgered on the bottom. However the main thing I see that can get you into great difficulty is the fact you don't use a bite alarm or drop back indicator. If a pike picks your bait up and swims back towards your rod.....you won't know you have a bite. A high chance of a deep hooked pike. Also there's no excuse for not having these essential items for pike fishing as they can be picked up for less than £20. Also a larger range of unhooking equipment is needed IE large forceps , short forceps, snips etc etc all basic equipment needed for pike fishing. Hope you take this the way it's meant.

      Thanks for the advice Ryan, if you’ve watched some of my more recent pike fishing you’ll see I’ve made some changes and use float set ups now. I’ve got a wide range of unhooking equipment that’s never been a problem but I do need to get some alarms as I’ve found out after posting this video! Quick question, if I’m ledgering with a weight, and the pike swims towards me doesn’t the weight stay in place and the free running line move through it therefore still ticking the bait runner? Also, please can you reccomend some good cheap alarms? I always thought a pair of them would be setting me back at least £100

    • @ryankerr9459

      It depends on the size of your lead and what the bottom is like, as a rule of thumb I always go for a 3 ounce lead as a minimum to illuminate the lead moving. Depending on where your fishing I use delkim ev plus on the big lochs, I prefer using a vibration style alarm rather than a roller style as there not great in windy conditions etc. Tight lines

    just a heads up man, only sea-baits to be used in Wmere and most lakes in the Lake District. Using freshwater species as bait can introduce diseases into the water system and harm fish - pike especially as they eat these baits. Just about making the choices to ensure the fishing stays as good as it can be! Nice to see u getting on the banks of windermere tho man, fished there most my life

    Great video and great perseverance George. I like that you show your sessions warts and all, even though you may have a blank. I popped over to have a chat on your first day, when Harry attempted a triple salchow into the lake:-). We didn't see a fish, have a follow or a take all the time we were on the jetty, so it was good to see you catch the pike. You'll be glad to know though that the drone guy got some great promotional footage of the ribs churning through your swims:-(

    • @ianwilkinson2773
      @ianwilkinson2773 3 роки тому +1

      @@adventurefishinguk Yes, he was filming a promotional video for the guys who own the two ribs. They want to use them for lake experiences and they had a couple of tourist volunteers on one of them. He was going to film drive by’s from the jetty using the drone but the rib broke down in the middle of the lake with the tourists on board😏😂. They obviously got it started again and started filming through your swims😖. I know the feeling, I had just started fishing on the Lune when two kayakers came crashing through my run and then decided to get out on the bank opposite, aargh🤬!
