@@beverlydemoranville468 it is much lighter and easier to use than a gas saw. With all three poles together it’s a bit too heavy but not Horrible. I just asked my wife what she thought she has used my chainsaw and hedge trimmer and has troubles with her hands but she said she would be able to use it no problem just maybe not as long as me :)

Specially the part where you disclosed the “two hour job for $200” dude I like UNDER ESTIMATE” most of my jobs. You can buy the middle extension pole as a spare. Would be good to see how usable it is with with two middle extension sections instead of one. Reasoning being that if it's still usable with two extensions (or even three), it's safer than being on top of a ladder.

@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP I have the 16in 60vchainsaw from Dewalt. I heard about the leaking oil issue. I have just drained the reservoir and it seems to work. The only other thought I have had is to use a bike tire innertube to make an O-ring for the cap. But since I haven't had the leaking issue. Not sure if it is coming out of the cap or just leaking out of where the oil comes out to lubricate the chain. Worse case, just wrap the bar in an old towel. Also heard that 10" bars can be added to the pole saw.

Another solid video, and this one especially because I just got my DeWalt pole saw about a month ago, I haven’t been able to do any real work with it yet. I totally agree with you about the play in DeWalt’s pole hedge trimmer head, I’m quite disappointed in its lack of robust construction for the trimmer head. I’m impressed and strongly considering Milwaukee’s Fuel pole hedge trimmer. My DeWalt 12” chainsaw leaks oil as well. Hey Tim it looks like you have the ToughBuilt Sawhorses which are great tools to have. Keep the success going!

great idea to do a review after one year, like you said all the others I've watched are done after 20mins of use, I was weighing this up against the makita which is a lot more expensive and uses 2 batteries (more powerful tho 36v). Probably get the De Walt as I would use it infrequently.

Another one that is smaller in capactity is the XD5000E from generac its running wattage is aroudn 5000 watts but its expensive in the $4000 range and weighs just over 250 pounds and is on back order until the middle of Dec at least. www.electricgeneratorsdirect.com/Generac-6864-Portable-Generator/p50700.html

Used my pole saw for a big brush cutting project over 3 days last week. Color me impressed. I did find that the smaller batteries I had more binding stalls. When I switched to the big battery the stalls ended. Then I had a few stalls and found the connection was loose. Snugged it up and no more problems. I have a lot of work scheduled for this tool on our property. Lots of branch trimming on Spruce Trees. I am wanting a shorter version of the pole saw. I picked up some used pole saws and my intent is to cut the saw pole down to about 8 inches. I think it will fit my needs perfect being shorter. I found myself in the thick of the brush having to reach way back to turn on the power... OR... It might be easier to make the Battery end 8 inches... I will still have a full length one and I got another center pole so two center poles will give me options. I also have the weed wacker version and looking to buy some used ones and see if I can put a metal blade on it for flush cutting brush. Lots of adventures in store for this tool.

@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP Thanks for your reply. After I made this post I went hunting for the weed wacker version... I have a 20 volt at my brother's house that I never used. I have a bunch of the 65 volt worx weed wackers found cheap that I love for grass work. Have 5 as I went through 3 batteries on a project once and it started to smoke... And as a electronic guy I know that HEAT will kill this motor... So now I rotate worx wackers never letting them get hot. So the reason for my post is that I found Dewalt makes TWO flavors of weed wackers... A 20 volt that I have and a 60 volt. The 60 Volt is a DCST972 and is just like the generic gas weed wackers that you can SWAP tools. It has the 60 volt motor in the handle and a shaft does the driving of a massive 17 inch string head. SO the surprise of the night is that Generic Accessories will fit on the battery head... I have collected on sale a few of the brush heads over the years so I have what I need to do battery blade cutting... I have a big brush problem here I am dealing with and both of the Dewalt tools are just what will work. :)

To follow-up, DeWalt customer service was awesome, the saw was purchased from Amazon November 2020. I used it about three times pruning a Mesquite tree and then it's been sitting for a few months after my first oil addition and use, they said that when I saw is not in use for a couple days or a week or more you should always drain the oil out and loosen the cap in between uses, which seems very painstaking and inconvenient but whatever... they also quoted me a service call price of $48 if I wanted to have someone look at it
