Thanks for checking this tent out. Too many youtubers focus on the stupidly expensive tents and brands, good to see the cheaper options getting a look at.
I picked up a Decathalon Quechua tent for $20 before Christmas and gave it a 4 day rain test while I stayed all comfy and dry in my car tent. Checked it several times and all dry-even after heavy showers with some blustery wind. Cheap doesn’t always mean total crap. Sure, it won’t last for years, but that’s ok. It’s for my grandkids to get started and I know it ain’t gonna leak.
As one who has, in my dim and distant motorbike rallying days, owned many tents I like the style of this one. Not that I'm in a position to buy a tent anymore....now old and disabled (but still have FOUR tents I haven't used for a few years). As for Temu....I bought a long kaftan style dress. Blooming thing is huge. All I need to go with it are a couple of poles and some guy lines and I'm sorted. It's not stealth mind as it's bright red! 😆
Cheers for trying this and giving such a detailed review as always buddy. Also, you're not an idiot, and I appreciate you showing your minor mistake. Too many Tubers try to portray themselves as super human. I hugely respect your honesty. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Haha, free channel subscriptions, love it!
Great little for summer camping be interesting to see how it goes in wet weather. And definitely great for someone starting out on a budget. If I didn’t buy a second hand besport for £15 I’d buy this to be honest.
"Me being an idiot"... "Editing crappy videos"... laughed so hard 😂 Great review, and lot of folks who are just getting into hiking, will like reviews about dirt cheap stuff. Not all are buying first tent worth hundreds. Nice work man 💪
There are far too many precious videos about fancy tents, obsessing about waterproofness, zips, weight, denier and all kinds of nonsense. For that reason I like this channel which concentrates on what is available at a reasonable price. 90% of all British camping is done in summer fair weather and a simple dome tent with fiberglass poles will do the trick as a shelter. Better still buy a 2 person single skin cheapie, spend an hour sealing the seams and spraying the fabric a couple of times. If you are really going for it then replace the fiberglass with aluminium poles for £20 and save more weight. I have a massive dome shelter (KingCamp 2 p) ( 180x210x130 ) It stays dry and with alu poles weighs under 2 kg. Its obviously self standing and so very handy when the ground is hard or you want to change position. Keep it simple unless you are camping in winter on Snowdonia
Tent looks very good for this price. Aluminum poles, 3000HH under 2kg. Two doors/ two vestibules that can be used depending on the weather. Two ways zip I just don't like the bag. After bags from Vango, I will not change for others
In my country, Desertfox is the most popular tent brand amongst campers. The in-store price for this tent is $30. Such a steal for its quality and reliability, especially in withstanding the Southeast Asian monsoon rain.
I'm on a temu honeymoon, bought a few outdoors items, all good and a cheap as chips drone (not too shabby), I'm well pleased with them. This tent looks good but it needs an overnight in the rain test before I'd consider it.
Great video. Looking for a tent like this and have been very impressed with things that I’ve already bought from Temu. Will definitely be considering this for backpacking and bikepacking (seems small enough to go across my handlebars). I actually prefer pitching the inner tent first so for those warm nights when you don”t need a fly (there’s not many I know!), you don’t have to use one. Certainly cheaper than some of the alternatives. 👍🏻
I had a tent nearly identical to this. Quite frankly it was a rather good tent with a few things that needed a slight modification (nothing major). It was something like $85 but only had one door. It was bright orange. While this seems like a decent tent, I'd certainly opt for a Naturehike Spider/Cloud Trek/Cloud Up for the money.
As you say, it’s not bad for the money. I’m impressed. I’ve never done any wild camping. This tent would certainly be good to give it a go. I would be quite happy to invest in making some of the improvements you suggested. Looking forward to your review of it in the wild!
Reminds me of spending 4 weeks in Yorkshire with my tent held up by a biro in lieu of a missing peg! It worked too :) 3000mm hydrostatic head is _really_ good for a cheap tent. Thanks for the detailed review!
I had the Naturehike version of this tent for my first wildcamping adventures and it did well, only upgraded as I'm 6' 2" and had to sleep sideways as its very short! Also when you open the doors in the rain (or after the rain stops) water falls directly into the bathtub
I've had the same small cheap tent for years. Moisture soaks through the bottom so I added a plastic sheet underneath. The poles sink into soft ground so I added flat feet to the bottom of them. In heavy prolonged rain the tent will leak, so I put a tarpaulin over the top, also making a nice porch...
That's the Salewa Micro (if it only had the one door). My first tent which I bought for cycle touring over 2 decades ago, it was a brilliant tent, with only one flaw, to close and open the fly you had to put one hand on wet grass to support yourself.
Thanks Ben. I know precious little about camping I suppose, but I am sorely tempted to buy this one, because for a cheapskate short arse like me it looks just fine 👍👌
I’ve accepted that I’m just a weekend hiker now, literally zero time to camp. But this could be a cool shelter to get out of the sun in the hills of Scotland where there’s no trees for tarps.
No I have never had a problem with inner pitch first with my Wild Country Trisar tent in over 30 years. I think some folk make such a big deal over such details and certainly did not affect my choice of tent.
Apart from things like this possibly leaking etc, its the fact its inner pitch first which is always a massive no no for me as I'm out in all weathers. Perfect for a summer wild camp/backpacking trip though.
Hey Ben , dank voor het delen ... door je video te zien heb ik ook gezocht naar deze tent, en ben uitgekomen bij een BIVI Karp tent de FOX 2 ... THXS !!! Bro ...
Always like these kind of videos. As a tall person (198cm) im always interested in knowing how much sowce you have so knowing the length of the revieuwer is handy to know. A tent i really want to buy is the cardova hrand canyon 2 (green ans camo version) . Its a diamond shape (no vestibule) what really is handy for tall people. I had bought a secondhand diamons shaped tent, but it was not eaterproof anymore unfortunately. But the space ia great! Oh and subscribed to your channels, really like your down to earth style.
Nice video Ben. As you alluded to in the video, it should help others who are thinking of getting into our hobby and who don't want to spend a lot when deciding if they're going to continue with it. 👍
I had an idea when you said it was underweight you are going to be missing something like a tent Peg. Now you know why it's underweight. I believe the measurements they are using is from the outside not the inside. Remember it's taller on the outside because of the two poles and the spacing. It looks like a pretty good little tent for being a cheapo. The first thing I would do is get some clear Flex Seal and coat that rainfly to make it waterproof. Because if you ever get in the rain in that thing the way it is oh, you're not going to like the outcome. But if you waterproof that rainfly correctly it should be a pretty workable little tent. I got one very similar to it from Walmart for about 20. It's not called a desert fox. But when you know the secrets of how to make them waterproof your biggest consideration after that is ventilation and you can leave the rainfly off if you're not expecting bad weather. And that's always a big win Also for the things holding the vents open, you can wrap duct tape around them a few times and it will stiffen it up. Grab the tape around it sideways and go from one end to the other back and forth make a couple of passes.
Love your work sir! 😁👍 Love my Naturehike cycling tent too. Stealthy green, lightweight, packs small. I modded mine with a Tyvek ground sheet, better pegs and loop points on the inner and outer to get more internal space. Better than the popular Cloud up series in my opinion.
Bought a few camping items from Temu and I have to be honest, they've been quality. Afraid to order a tent in case they're absolute muck. This looks good but I'll await your rain test report. 😁
Well not a bad tent at all. I mean when you consider the Vango Experience range (cheap versions) this is similar quality. The inner alone is great for summer. In fact I might see if I can get one as often I just need a mosquito free sleeping space.
@@daleyoutdoorsYeah, I'm a bit of a cheapskate because I have to be, but I only do summer camping so I think it'll be perfect. That's the same price I got my Vango soul 300 for a few years ago and that's been a great budget tent for me and my daughter. She'll be able to bring a friend along now so hopefully she'll keep enjoying getting outdoors for a couple more years. I really appreciate your videos and the fact that you reply to comments, it must be a lot of work! Thanks again. Paul
Having watched your earlier Temu haul video I’m blaming you entirely for my new currency obsession. So far I’ve bought a folding camping grill to set on a fire to cook on, folding bellows to get the fire going and a car boot organiser for all my stuff. I am on the lookout for a one person tent for wild camping. This one looks good to me and bonus points of being so lightweight. Thanks.
Very impressed with your detailed review, loads better than a lot of similarly themed videos. One minor constructive observation- you were going to see how much smaller you could re-pack it compared to how it came, did you manage to get it smaller? I enjoyed your overall presentation style and delivery, will check out some of your other vids.
Yeah I messed up there and accidentally cut it out of the edit 🤦♂️ it packed to the quoted width (16cm) but was still the same length. Not an issue for me as I’ll pack it separately when o take it out. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🤓👍
Like all if these things, final judgement would be after some testing in some testing conditions, but lets be honest, i bet it holds up as good as tents 10 times its price. I think its a perfect tent for someone maybe looking to get into wild camping but dont want to spend a fortune. The specs of 3000 hh for that price, plus two doors and free standing is an absolute bargain, providing it holds up in the rain. Pegs/guy lines are easily replaced for cheap. Hopefully youll get out in it soon in some challenging conditions and see how it goes. Cheers
Enjoyed the video mate, cheers! I'm thinking of trying out one of those tiny mummy type tents from Temu, for an overnight bike pack in Snowdonia. They're 16 quid ! 😄
I don't think buckles are great long term as they can lose their grip, but having adjustments like this is a big must on any tent. Such a simple thing to add yet cost doesn't usually mean you get it...
Loved the video. You. Covered all of the points I would want to know about. With temu tents, I've seen a few videos, where they don't do well in a hefty rain. Have you experienced anything with this tent, under those conditions? Well done...
You measure the pack size and weight of the tent. Also for the dimensions, the quoted size would appear to be correct even though its not usable size. Do you do the same with more expensive tents too? For reference this is the first time I've viewed your channel.
I think the tent is missing the Hilleberg type toggles to hold the door open, they could be added easily. Though, I do think they're a pretty poor choice, elastic and toggle is the only way to go. One day I think I will just make my own tent.
Putting inner up first is a problem when pitching in the rain as it'll get wet inside - shame as that's a great price for that little one man. Curious how it holds up in bad weather but at 3000hh hopefully keeps dry.
How does it perform in the rain? Looks like the rain will fall inside the doors when open, even with the porch open & supported with trekking poles or sticks. But who knows until tested. Many design features are similar to my NatureHike P-series (Professional) 3p tent, that I inadvertently got for free. There was some COVID delay, and AliExpress had their 45 day delivery guarantee, so I got a refund & purchased the Taiji 2 instead. 2 weeks later the tent showed up. Had it out for the first time, a few days ago, tho no rain. Inner isn't completely mesh, but that would lend to it's UPF 50+ claim, and how I was using it, as a Beach Sun shelter & protection from mosquitos at dusk 🌄
Hi Ben, love the channel. I have been looking at the tents on Temu for a while. This was really useful to watch. I xant wait to see how it fairs on an overnight trip.
great review - would be great to see a rain test one day . even on the video the materials looked good and no loose threads seemed evident. On an assumption of being waterproof it looks like a great tent to get started with as you say. Best wishes from the Carpathian mountains.
Ive been watching your content for a while. Again a great video. I'm just in the process of speccing up kit to begin wild camping, this kind of video is perfect for me as I dont want to spend a fortune to find its not for me after all. Ill wait for the field test but it looks ok for starting out. Thanks.
As always, great video. I recently bought a zastrugi tent from planet x, bargain at £40! It's also an inner pitch, but as I'd only use it in drier/warmer months, don't see it as an issue 👍
Yeah and it is hard to make a peg too lol. Thanks this was a nice test and i buy a lot of stuff from Temu who been professional in they approach and delivery and much better than some other companies i tried before. Maybe i try this one later.
@@dustybiker9602 yeah that's what I was thinking about this one if it's scrunched up lol. Cool cheers I'll take a look, I like Temu way faster delivery than Ali express, here to NZ any way
Looks very similar to my Coleman Darwin 2 how it sets up with the poles and tying it to the top. Even down to the thing the outer to the poles down the sides.
@@daleyoutdoors I was wondering if they’ve borrowed the idea and tweaked it. The Coleman Darwin is fibreglass poles using that old ring and pin system and is free standing before the outer goes on too. At least this one of yours is aluminium poles so that’s better!
Generally for someone who is going to do their first spot of wild camping or even regular camping they will check the weather forecast and only go out on dry days and nights so this tent would be ideal for them. Nice and cheap so if they don't like been under nylon they haven't lost a chunk of money. Peace
It doesn't seem that bad for a cheapy, the real test will be rain. And as you say if its just to get started in wild camping or a quick overnight its OK. I don't get why people get stressed about inner pitch first either... its literally minutes to clip it up and dump the fly over the top... I love my MSR Elixir 1... strong as ox 🐂 because of the way it pitches. 👍
It's forecast rain here for the weekend (shock) so if I can't get out for a camp I'll leave it up in the garden and see how it does. I'll pitch quick though and get the outer on before it fills up with water 😆 #innerpitchbitch
Another quality Temu product ❤❤❤! Anytime I have had any issues with products I have been refunded without any issues! I have heard many comments about so called cheap Chinese products, my reply is when you have bought your over priced branded products with its nice label on it, where is it actually made??? So many products have the union flag but look closely and it probably says designed in Great Britain made in the PRC, oops peoples Republic of China! Cheers Mark!😊😊😊😊.
i honestly think it looks pretty good the minus points you mentioned could be sorted out and i think for a 1st timer it's a great price who could then spend a little extra on their sleep system, i look forward to your outing with this cheers sir you are a star
Great video! Good detail and I like your explanation. I really want to get into camping and this looks like a great starter tent. Love your attitude as well. You have gained a new sub :)
I got a 2 person rent from aldi for £25 in their end of line sales (online). Well chuffed with it. Temu stuff is ok. Sizings are suspicious though. Just got to read the small print and double check the price to colour/size.
@@daleyoutdoors yup! Couldn’t say no! Was half price. Just keep an eye on the Temu stuff. The price changes on the colour/size and if you’re all in shopping mode. You might not notice it. X
I really don't mind a cheap tent on the understanding that I know it's a cheap tent and keep my expectations under control. One thing I always do with cheap tents is to treat with a water proof agent and seal the seams. Especially if I know that I will be using it in fair weather only. It really bugs me when people knowingly purchase a cheap tent but then proceed to bitch about it's short comings. To which I respond with... It's a cheap tent! What did you realistically expect? More of interest to me is that they rarely have sufficient ventilation to avoid condensation. But, if you know, you know to plan around the potential problem... this little 1p tent seems to have better then average head space.
Good video mate, haven't watched you before and subscribed 👍 Liked what you said at the end about who cares what people think and he probably couldn't care less
What a bargain, bought a few things from temu and quality has been good. You could add a toggle todooe straps andpass thro loop. Wonder how water proof the tent is?

This video is over a year old. I only keep tents for 8.5 days.
2:20 Size of that knife in the background! Didn't realise you were such a bushcrafting bad boy Ben 😉
Well I don’t like to brag… 😆
Sexy new drone footage as you walked away... 😂
Yup 👌😆
I think the tent is missing the Hilleberg type toggles to hold the door open, they could be added easily. Though, I do think they're a pretty poor choice, elastic and toggle is the only way to go.
One day I think I will just make my own tent.
Putting inner up first is a problem when pitching in the rain as it'll get wet inside - shame as that's a great price for that little one man. Curious how it holds up in bad weather but at 3000hh hopefully keeps dry.
You’ll see in my next video 😉
Thanks! I’ll be taking it out soon 👍
Enjoyed your video very much.
I got your tent peg, I had one extra......I paid just a little over $100.00 for mine on ebay.
Using it in the rain and wind will be the test.
Being in the UK, I guess that will come soon enough for you...🙂
Video is out on Sunday 😆

More filming on a school night please! Your ranting deserves more air time! 🍄
Don’t tempt me 🤣
great review - would be great to see a rain test one day . even on the video the materials looked good and no loose threads seemed evident. On an assumption of being waterproof it looks like a great tent to get started with as you say. Best wishes from the Carpathian mountains.
Video currently being edited 👍
Ive been watching your content for a while. Again a great video. I'm just in the process of speccing up kit to begin wild camping, this kind of video is perfect for me as I dont want to spend a fortune to find its not for me after all. Ill wait for the field test but it looks ok for starting out. Thanks.
As always, great video. I recently bought a zastrugi tent from planet x, bargain at £40! It's also an inner pitch, but as I'd only use it in drier/warmer months, don't see it as an issue 👍
I have a similar tent, if you get a ground sheet for about $6 you can pitch it outer first.
Good tip 👍
Yeah and it is hard to make a peg too lol. Thanks this was a nice test and i buy a lot of stuff from Temu who been professional in they approach and delivery and much better than some other companies i tried before. Maybe i try this one later.
Thanks for watching! 👍
Looks like a great motor cycle camping tent , I'd buy it
have a look at the moon lence tent same thing i use it on the motorbike as it fits in my top box
@@dustybiker9602 yeah that's what I was thinking about this one if it's scrunched up lol. Cool cheers I'll take a look, I like Temu way faster delivery than Ali express, here to NZ any way
@@deepsouthNZ i didnt need to scruch it up in a 46L givi top box so dont see it being any different with this tent
Looks very similar to my Coleman Darwin 2 how it sets up with the poles and tying it to the top. Even down to the thing the outer to the poles down the sides.
Probably a copy 👍
@@daleyoutdoors I was wondering if they’ve borrowed the idea and tweaked it. The Coleman Darwin is fibreglass poles using that old ring and pin system and is free standing before the outer goes on too. At least this one of yours is aluminium poles so that’s better!
Generally for someone who is going to do their first spot of wild camping or even regular camping they will check the weather forecast and only go out on dry days and nights so this tent would be ideal for them. Nice and cheap so if they don't like been under nylon they haven't lost a chunk of money.
Peace
Exactly 👍
Nice one Gary Delaney
@@daleyoutdoors 👍🤣
I need one of them bottle holders Ben I see you use it a few time where did you get it?👍🏻 nice rant by the way😂
It’s an old Mammut one I found on Amazon
I have seen this tent on Allie Express, at a similar price. The question about the tent, is, is it waterproof ? I will look forward to seeing a test.
Great tent for the ££££ and hope to see more from the drone 👍
More to come! 👍
Can you give an update at a later time as to how the zippers hold up and how it does in the rain ?
Of course 🤓
Better off going to Argos for this price. Would be good to compare this tent to a top end tent from Temu.
Have you seen the tents at Argos???
the pegs are not much different from my old north face westwind. good tent for what you paid.
Thank you for another great video. I wondered if the tent was seam sealed?
It’s taped seams so no need to seal it 👍
@@daleyoutdoors Thanks Ben
i honestly think it looks pretty good the minus points you mentioned could be sorted out and i think for a 1st timer it's a great price who could then spend a little extra on their sleep system, i look forward to your outing with this cheers sir you are a star
Thanks! 👍
Great video! Good detail and I like your explanation. I really want to get into camping and this looks like a great starter tent. Love your attitude as well. You have gained a new sub :)
Welcome aboard 👍
That looks good mate for that money.
Perfect like you say for your first camp 👍👍
I got a 2 person rent from aldi for £25 in their end of line sales (online). Well chuffed with it. Temu stuff is ok. Sizings are suspicious though. Just got to read the small print and double check the price to colour/size.
That’s a bargain 👍
@@daleyoutdoors yup! Couldn’t say no! Was half price. Just keep an eye on the Temu stuff. The price changes on the colour/size and if you’re all in shopping mode. You might not notice it. X
If it’s waterproof you did okay…Have fun stay safe.
nice starter tent ,
some tents in home bargins... £20, lots about.. supermarkets etc basically throw away stuff.. but all interesting..
I liked your video and I don’t even need a tent. But I am a Temu shopper.
Thanks!
Good video mate, haven't watched you before and subscribed 👍
Liked what you said at the end about who cares what people think and he probably couldn't care less
Cheers mate - Thanks for watching 👍
shocked when you said the price it's the equivalent of the aldi tent recently on sale at £7.99.
What a bargain, bought a few things from temu and quality has been good.
You could add a toggle todooe straps andpass thro loop.
Wonder how water proof the tent is?
Will find out soon 👍
Is there free delivery with the channel subscription advertised at the close of the video?
Yep. 2nd class.
Great review Ben ,I downloaded this site catalogue and was thinking myself of buying a different tent but with stuff being as it can be from there I opted for a Eurohike Tamar 2 instead 👍👍
I like the Tamar 2 🤓👍
@@daleyoutdoorsif you like it that'll do me ,you've had more tents than I've had cheers Ben👍
Cheers Dave is it big enough for the rucksac inside 2 dogs ?
Who’s Dave? 😆
Brilliant video 😂
