@@naomio839 Sure, you make a new canvas and put your references in there organized in a folder. Make another new canvas, this one you will actually draw on. When you have more than one active canvas in CSP you can click and drag the tab of the canvas title to one of the four sides of the drawing area - when it touches a wall it shows a red line you can let go of the mouse. Now you have two windows active and can resize it however you want. To make the smaller version of your actual drawing, you have to go to Window -> Canvas -> New window while you're on your main drawing canvas then you can move that tab wherever you like, if you want to place it like how Kuroshiro did you will need to drag the tab on the upper half of where the ref canvas is. If you have any questions let me know.
most people think drawing really good is only achieved by practicing, but it’s really not. it requires thinking as you go, you have to build THAT mindset, it’s all about how your brain works. once you can get into that mindset, you can truly draw anything. nice video!
I have not words to describe how helpful your videos are. They are something out of my dreams. To finally see and understand what happens behind the curtains from dynamic pieces of art
LİTERALLY MY ART HAS İMPROVED SO MUCH İN THE LAST FEW MONTHS THANKS TO U OMFG. i started studying your style and once i saw your youtube it was just so amazing!!! literally god of drawing fr TYSM FOR ALL YOUR WORK ♡♡♡
This came sooo handy, right now I was stuck in the sketch phase and you just saved me! I always feel super insecure when it comes to actually making a completed illust but your videos ease my fear and show me the reality of the process and for that I'm super grateful 🙏
That's wonderful to hear! I want to make every step as transparent as possible for people to see and comprehend. And this starts with looking for references and this also means making tons of several different sketches and easing and deleting and scrapping sketches I've been working for hours. I want to show all the vulnerable steps of my process :) thanks for letting me know and I am wishing you all the best :)
you inspired me to be more organized when starting to sketch a pose cuz i always jumbled back and forth without compiling my refs which made me overwhelmed everytime thank you so much for sharing :D!!
I love to have a clear guide/reference file to not come to the point of questioning everything I did xD So having this as steady base to work with is really reassuring and speeds up my workflow ^^
the first method is surely one i would love to "master" in the future. I struggle a lot with finding a good reference for what i have in mind and most of the time i either give up or do something entirely different because i can't find what i exactly need. so having to puzzle everything together from many reference is on one hand a time consuming but on the other hand a very smart method! thanks for sharing!!
That's true. It takes time to decide what part is useful and how a possible pose can be made of it but I think it's worth because it trains the skill to understand shapes and form and human anatomy. And it makes it easier to come up with own poses without references. Then they will just be needed for complicated parts or so :)
I've never really thought of using reference in this way you've shown, and your technique is very eye-opening for me. Thank you so much for your amazing videos. :)

Waited a bit to watch this one so I can use it to help with a new illustration from scratch! I'm so envious of how well your sketches are! My sketches are usually so different to my final and it changes a lot while I work. It often becomes a bit frustrating to when it takes so long to get something I'm satisfied with. But I've come to trust the process! I feel like my method is a bit of #1 and #2 combined. I usually either have a character in mind but a vague idea of a pose and I use a bunch of references to get something I like. Or I have a pose (or when browsing Pinterest, a whole outfit) that I think would suit a couple of characters well and I have to figure out which characters would suit it most. The second is a bit more fun because it just means I can do multiple drawings with a similar theme instead of just picking one!
I understand the struggle with sketch vs final drawing. Oftentimes my sketches lose their dynamic and light attire. I also think it's completely fine spending a lot of time on the sketching stage since that's the skeleton of your entire drawing and when this has a solid foundation then the rest shouldn't be an issue anymore (even though I start to struggle with facial anatomy lol). Anyways, I really appreciate to hear your thoughts on that! I think overall it's the best to just draw what feels good and finding your personal and comfortable process :) again, thanks a lot for sharing your ideas!

Hi there! I'm a newbie to clip studio paint / medibang. do you think I should not use any of the 3D models from clip studio paint? Do you think it would make my anatomy skill worse?
Hm..I think it's not wrong to use them but I fee pretty limited and frustrated when using them. It takes so much time getting them like you imagine and then I am always worrying that I will lose my initial idea. But some can make really good use out of them :) so look what feels comfortable to you!
What do you mean? You can make the second window when you go to: view - canvas - new canvas and the brush is set to a smooth pressure curve, so I don't have to use much pressure to make it look opaque :)
Oh I appreciate that! Thank you :) yes, it's easier to take a pose and modify it to your liking by changing small things ^^ I actually do this more than the first method since I draw what I like and not what character I have to draw if that makes sense 😅
Thanks for the tutorial it really helps but honestly Im having a lot of trouble drawing woman can you make a in depth tutorial on how to draw girl I can draw guy not perfectly but fine but I can’t draw girls like at all😢

Go to "file, preferences", at the left side will be sum options, youll look into it til u find "cursors", then depending on what tool you want to change the cursor for, ur gonna set "specific tool" (or sum like that, im using it on other language), hope it helps!
it looks so easy and then i remember i don't know anything about anatomy 😭
How did you include the window where your piece is flipped?
Your brush is great but a bit difficult to use and I didn't think there would be a second mirror window vs a small window😢
What do you mean? You can make the second window when you go to: view - canvas - new canvas
and the brush is set to a smooth pressure curve, so I don't have to use much pressure to make it look opaque :)
Sketch/Line brushes are gone, where can I download them?
u got my subscribe
i think for a noob like me method 2 is VERY more frindly
Oh I appreciate that! Thank you :) yes, it's easier to take a pose and modify it to your liking by changing small things ^^ I actually do this more than the first method since I draw what I like and not what character I have to draw if that makes sense 😅
Hey can u post some video about body tutorial plz tnx
Hey! So you mean anatomy?
How you change your cursor like that ?
When the drawing is prettier than the reference demn XD hfksjsjjdkskks you draw them so good hfksjdsjkksndlsjsskdls
Ahh no no! But I appreciate your kind words a lot :3 thank you so much!
@@kurohshiro why no 😭🤣 it's a compliment! You should take it 😤✨🤣
how do you edit your cursor?
I didn't, OBS is weird when capturing my screen 😩 idk what's going on there
GEOTO OGIEOEOTO IGETI GEOOTO GETO
Thanks for the tutorial it really helps but honestly Im having a lot of trouble drawing woman can you make a in depth tutorial on how to draw girl I can draw guy not perfectly but fine but I can’t draw girls like at all😢
I am glad it was helpful :) what part of women is hard for you to draw? Maybe I can make a video on how I draw the human body, both male and female ^^
how long does your art take?
This depends on the level of details and how my mood is. Sometimes I am just in the flow and everything is easy but usually I start to struggle when it comes to the lineart. I spend ages with fixing mistakes. So between 14h to 50h
@@kurohshiro omg !. also, would u ever consider making a video using procreate? or a video using or downloading procreate brushes? i cant seem to find any good watercolor brushes
❤❤

how is your health? ☺️
Aw thanks for asking! I am doing okay, a lot of stress made me feel numb and sad but that's over more or less :)
