The sense of weight from everything is incredible. Every thrown body, every flinch and stagger in cqc felt just right. Movement is fluid but readable and the fight never gets monotonous.
2:40 holy SHIT that was so freaking cool. All your practical blood & smoke effects really shined through in this animation. Golly that CQC combat was SO freaking clean. I loved all the fast paced magnum choreography. Camera work was also steller. Some of your best directing imo. You've always had great cinematography, but THIS one was so so good. Your super small & intricate movements blow my mind. The sharp contrast between fast paced key frame to key frame movements & the super small little movements like reloads & body reactions and expressions. Super steller work Badlaxe. Love seeing another video after so long 👍👍👍
3:08 also that was a SUPER cool reveal. Love the active camo action right there and the impact from the laser beam. Love the sizzling point of impact afterwards too
1:37 Blamite wrist gantlets!!!! I know you've read it a thousand times, but you are an inspiration to this entire community, and you make the smaller channels like me push to be better! Thank you for continuing to upload, we all know how hard it is to make stop motions. Always love your videos. The action, story, cinematography, lighting, it's all perfect.
I love the silent story telling and the atmospheric aura around the story goes hard. Also the effects from the shotgun blasts and fighting scenes are top notch.
This is some of the coolest action I've seen from a mega construx animation. Your directing and sense of timing in action scenes is incredible as always, and this whole video feels like it could be some really fun mission in Halo game around insurrectionists. Also the shot when he jumps out of the falcon at 00:27 is I think one of the coolest shots I've ever seen in a stopmotion. I'd love to know how you did that shot, looks like maybe he was shot on a green screen and scaled down to look proportionate to the falcon?
In regards to the Falcon shot, I animated the falcon separately, then, using onion skinning, scaled the distance of the spartan. Then I animated the spartan jumping. And finally, masked each frame of the spartan into the falcon shot. That way there isn’t a weird “green screen outline” and the lighting stays consistent. Hope I worded that well enough, it’s kind of hard to explain in text.
THIS was absolutely incredible. I loved every second of this. Super smooth and everything had impact. My favorite part is I could keep up with the action and it didn't feel cluttered!! 10/10
MAN...this was the shit. By far my fav part was at 0:02 where you can just feel the darkness. Kinda like seeing video's of ships at sea looking at the ocean, just a big black void.
"The Return of the King." Excellent, fluid animation as always. I feel confident in saying you're the best stop motion artist I've ever seen. Keep up the good work.
Was not expecting a sequel to snowbound but goddamn was this amazing. The choreography of the action is some of the best I’ve seen in any halo stopmotion for sure!
Excellent work as always Badlaxe. I feel the community has been a bit dry for content and inspiration in a long time, so having something like this come along makes me want to come back to animating. The choreography, weapon handling, reload animations, death animations etc… are very top notch. I feel you really outdid yourself in those capacities improving your abilities ten fold. Also kudos are using Escape from New York music at the end. For me, I feel the key elements of snow bound however were missing. Such as snow, miniature lights on set, the team-esk aspect etc… but looking at this in it’s own light I think it’s a masterpiece. Continue the great work and it’s great to see you’re still animating!
Top shelf animations, always so cool with motions so fluid. Microsoft and Mattel should be paying you to advertise Mega and Halo. It's animations like this that help me keep my interest in playing Halo and collecting Mega. Thank you!
Man, your timing with your hand to hand combat shots is impeccable. All the effects work is so gratifying to watch. We should catch up sometime, hope you're well!
“HOLD UP MOM! BADLAXE RELEASED A NEW ANIMATION!!!” Another amazing piece of art. The shield effects never get old…the movement is so smooth and life like. Incredible work good sir!
Your fight scenes are always so satisfying. I could watch it all day. It’s nice to see a continuation to the first Snowbound film. I’m going to have to check that one out again. I really enjoyed that one too.
HE'S BACK AND WITH A VENGEANCE! The animation camera work is amazing with everything feeling heavy but fluid, not to mention the practical effects and props like the blood and actual shells respectively, and the story is simple to understand but complex enough to make you ask questions and want more.
So basically, I watched this, then I realized that I was watching peak from a channel with only 11k subs. Every movement, camera motion, not too flashy effects, lighting, choreography, weight, all of it, is pure peak and I get to watch it for free on UA-cam. Just fantastic all around and I do believe you’re the best halo animator on UA-cam. Massive props!
Just a sidenote you you think you would get more views if you made a more flashy/eye grabbing thumbnail? I love the simplicity and realism of it but Unfortunately UA-cam algorithm doesn’t get attention for these types of things hence the large amounts of clickbait. Shame UA-cam doesn’t recommend any actual talent :/
These are literally the best stop motion I’ve ever seen. The editing is phenomenal the voice acting is just right and the fight scenes are something you would see in like mission impossible. Keep it up bro this is awesome and you are going somewhere with this
Absolutely incredible work! The impacts just sell really well, which is something I struggle with. I've learned quite a bit when observating your animation closer.
I’m glad I was able to help :) and don’t worry, it took me a really long time before I was able to get impacts I was happy with, and I still struggle. So don’t be too hard on yourself if it’s still difficult
Im guessing that’s a rouge Spartan 3 or 4 at the end? Somehow he/she obtained a Banished Shock Rifle and Promethean Scatter Shot? But the sound it made when shooting sounded like a Promethean Binary Rifle.
GAWD DAMN THIS IS FIRE!!! Bruh, I think you might be my favorite HALO Animator bro. PLEASE, PLEASE DONT QUIT!! Also not joking, your alpha base animation inspired me to pick up the camera again and do more animation. I have some plans to make a pretty cool halo animation, I hopefully can be done with it soon. I haven’t started making it, but I will soon. If you are reading this: thank you for making such cool animations, and inspiring me to try stop motion again (with halo)
Exceptional work putting this together, the action was slick and well thought out, also you did an amazing job blending the digital and practical special effects. Loved the the Escape from New York theme at the end.
Love your style of specialized spartans. Really gives me an RvB vibe with the cqc firefights and hand to hand combat, not to mention the special armor abilities and weaponry. Was that ever and inspiration?
Your animations always have great sense of impact and speed, it’s so satisfying to watch. I loved the use of mini falcon at the start and the spartan using thrusters as he’s falling. People already said it but the cqc fights and the camera movements make it so freaking good. Did you cut the grenade launcher for the reload btw? Or was it done with masking
@@Danxiky08 Thank you! The grenade launcher was cut as well as masked in that scene btw, so both! I tried to superglue the parts together but it wouldn’t hold so I was forced to mask it into frame.
The sense of weight from everything is incredible. Every thrown body, every flinch and stagger in cqc felt just right. Movement is fluid but readable and the fight never gets monotonous.
Exactly what I thought, the physics feel so real, like it isn’t even a stop motion and these are all real beings that are alive
Facts
Holy crap, that Spartan is an absolute monster
I loved this
those marine designs looked incredible and those 2 having an over shield added a nice touch
That pistol grab at 1:47 was PEAK
Snow bound was always one of my favourite animations
Plus the effects and everything is just amazing
@@YourWeeklyAnimation 🔥 🔥 🔥
I’m glad :) it’s definitely one of the oldies, I’ve been wanting to do a continuation of it for years, even if it is only something small.
@@badlaxeanimations3205yes you should that would be great, also badlaxe how did you do the blood effects?
@@LoneWolfMotions I used red dry erase markers on cotton. When animating the blood “fading away” I used the merge tool in stop motion studio pro

This animation isn’t the only thing that’s hard rn
dang thats fire even with the mags and cartridges ejecting shows how much work you put.

love how you included the wrist weaponry, like the human needler weapon, and the way you had the spartan grabbing ammo to use
The laser hit at 3:05 is beautiful
always a banger when Badlaxe Animations releases a halo video
You can't end the video like this Badlaxe you can't noooo what a beauty 😭😭😭
damn this is amazing
the practical shell ejection
the wrist mounted knife and needler
the spartans
this is so good for so many reasons
Amazing work love the emotion in the way the insurrectionist puts down his gun and runs at 2:08
I love the silent story telling and the atmospheric aura around the story goes hard. Also the effects from the shotgun blasts and fighting scenes are top notch.

"The Return of the King."
Excellent, fluid animation as always. I feel confident in saying you're the best stop motion artist I've ever seen. Keep up the good work.
NEW BADLAXE UPLOAD TIME TO WATCH
Perfect execution like always man, had a blast watching this!
This is perfection incarnate
Been keeping up with your animations for 5 years. And they never disappoint
Was not expecting a sequel to snowbound but goddamn was this amazing. The choreography of the action is some of the best I’ve seen in any halo stopmotion for sure!
1:56 this whole fight and especially the music give RvB Season 8-10 vibes
I didn't think this would be possible with Mega bloks.
I'm happily corrected.
hot damn, that's some smooth animation.
Dropped what I was doing for this. Summer work can wait
Yes you’re right
This animation is pristine and clean. Love the weight of the movements

New animation
"WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY"
I love how practical you've gotten. The fact you didn't just draw in shells and actually animated each individual shell after being fired was so sick.
Such a wonderful watch!
