I'll state right here, it's Nafas (the genie) from the Infinite Staircase that sends the players in to help defeat Vecna as per the Wizard's Three Wish spell.
I think an interesting way would be to intermingle it with the ones presented in the module since they are interesting ideas.
For me and my campaign, I'm going rewrite a bit of Nafas's lore to make him one of the Ancient Ones with the title of "Wish Master" as he won't just be a Djinn that sends adventurers to fulfill wishes he hears from the infinite staircase but actually is the being who fulfills wishes cast by the wish spell and so forth. I've already found a way to introduce him in some way, luckily, to my party.
With that in mind,, I'd like to imagine that the wish made by the Wizard Three from trying to accomplish a wish that would reverse time (and that's currently an issue due to one of my chronomancer player's backstory) ended up failing in some way shape or form due to such an insurmountable wish so Nafas performs the next best thing and bringing the party to tackle the problem at hand. I think an interesting thing to make the Wizard Three more interesting as well is by connecting them to the Planar Energy Collective in Sigil to make it seem like more is going on behind the scenes with figuring out how to deal with Vecna (kinda like in an Ultimate Alliance style).

I think he's referring to an older version of the Three wizards from previous editions Eleminster Mordenkainen and Dalamar were part of the old one
Justice for Elminster too. So far very much not impressed with this adventure for the most part.

@@gyorgyor7765 I do agree problem is a lot of those characters are main OCs for Ed greenwood in Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman which I have a feeling that modern WOTC doesn't like these authors and actively try to distance themselves from them The only one that kept was Gary gygax's Mordenkainen And they probably only kept him so that fans wouldn't riot

really the lore is so convoluted that at this point it makes sense that they just put the coolest thing and that's it. truth is most dms and players don't need all that unnecesary continuity over so many editions (that also have contradictions), just the coolest looking characters and story for them to homebrew into their games
I just wish that every D&D live action movie after the one we got in 2023 should be creative controlled by Chris Perkin. He can be like the D&D version of Kevin Feigi.

Its always only wizards... Can we for once have narratively relevant characters that aren't wizards? It makes your world feels small! Where are the arch druids? The High clerics? The arch bards? The greatest fighters of the world? The guild Master rogues? The arch warlocks? the arch sorcerers? The high templars? The chieftan Barbarians?
Like, there are 12 classes, could you guys plz share 20% of the wizard's narrative relevance with them?

Don't think there are any that were not created by story books or tv shows. All these Wizards are D&D creator PCs guess they liked their Wizards that made the cut. Especially since they were more difficult to level up in previous editions.
I believe Tasha has had different aspects or personas? So which version of Tasha are we going to see in Eve of Ruin?
By the looks of things Tasha, not Igwilv or Zybilna.
It's been said elsewhere that it's supposed to just be a version of Tasha pre-Zybilna and pre-Iggwilv.

@@portsyde3466 It's probably going to be a singular dungeon I feel like they're overblowing how long will actually spend in this world I don't think we're going to go to any of the main capitals from the sound of it they want to go to one spooky area per setting

Hopefully what the universe is trying to tell them is time travel is dumb.... What happens if a character dies? Do they just get replaced? They were fated all along to replace the wished for hero?

The only Wish that isn't poorly worded is the Wish that never gets worded at all.
