The more I watch your channel the more I understand and appreciate what soldiers go thru on a daily basis just to get from A to B.

Good stuff. TrueTimber does have a more waterproof/ resistant variant of their overwhites (Cabelas and WinterWafare have them), I've got some of those plain white trousers that were then customized, they work much better than the other version you have.
Oh forgot to mention in part one of this vid series, the Gear Aid brand self-adhering Camoform Wrap (it is reusable) works great to add some camo to your boomstick and Mags and such, been using it for a few years now on my gear and it performs very well even in extreme low temps and wet snow conditions.

I trained for 2 weeks in Folgaria, Italy in the Italian Alps in the Army in 1990. We were issued the WWII Over Whites, which were nicknamed “Over Wets” as they were cotton and sucked.

I've had good luck with Tyvek bunny suits. They don't insulate from the cold but they kept me fairly dry.

I never served in our military even though I wanted to. My parents did not want me to join so I honored their wishes and never signed up even though I scored very high on the ASVAB(92/99). Thank you for all the information that you provide on this channel. It helps me a lot in deciding what to include in my layout. Hope all is well! God bless!

hahaha 400 Pockets is a precise description -
AND on top of that: you´ll find that one thing you are lookin for in the last pocket you check,
    for the third time.

Why not turn them inside out and Scotchgard them a couple times to make them waterproof at least on the inside

you could dye that winter suit tan or green ... and use it in summer,
it would make a nice loose fitting, breathable 'gorka' type suit

Winter white’s on bottom and your choice of camo on top. Good for most winter / snow locations and no need for donning/doffing.

The solution to this is, turn the pants into basically chaps, and the top into a cobra hood.

Just watched a video about dying acu/ucp stuff with walnut hulls. Boondockery did it. Looks like a good solution for uniforms and gear. Good winter brown camo. Wouldn't think it would work on goretex or wet weather gear though.

I tried RIT dye on some slightly worn UCP Goretex pants I found at the thrift store. The hot water was too hot and all the seam tape came off. And though it did darken a little bit, it wasn’t enough to be worth it.
I have dyed pouches, packs, UCP tops, etc. that came out pretty good though. Just make sure to use the DyeMore for synthetics on the appropriate material.

@@JD-bd5uu saw some videos on rit dye too. I have a lot of ucp stuff to experiment with. Thanks for the tip.
