I wish the Cps Softwares when you maxamize the program size it would feel the entire screen unlike the small window inside the large window like it shows on your screen all radio Cps's Seem to do that kinda sucks would be easier to see everything if the exel box would fill the screen not a small box in a large box. Hope that makes sense Jim 16:52 @Gadget Talk
On the power reading I think Also Showing the Mhz Range Next to the 6 Meter and 2 meter and so on would help make the chart a little more simplified by showing ehat frequencies are in them meters and bands jim Good video as always 15:00 @Gadget Talk
I'm considering purchasing this radio; but I'm curious about one thing related to the two PTT buttons. I have only one radio (Baofeng UV-82) that has two PTT buttons. When I hook up a speaker mic on it (which has only one PTT button), it only enables the radio to transmit on the B line, regardless of which line is selected to transmit on the radio. I'm curious to know how this Wouxun does with a one button speaker mic, and if I'll be able to transmit on either the upper (A) or lower (B) line by selecting it as primary on the radio. TIA KK7RDL ✌️
System menus 19 and 20 allow you to set which area each PTT transmits on. There are several choices. One should get you what you want to do. For example, if the mic triggers PTT 1, set PTT one to Main and PTT 2 to secondary - or Area A and Area B depending on your desires. You can turn off dual receive if things get confusing with multiple inputs.
Great review, thanks. Just received mine yesterday. Two quirks I was hoping you can answer. First does your volume knob have a little play either direction, regardless of volume position and even when it’s off? Mines got some play. The other is the up/down knob below the volume know….to change channels upwards, you turn it clockwise, which is what I expect. However in the menus, if you turn it clockwise, you go backwards (down sequentially) through the menus. Seems backwards to me why the two are not consistent. If you don’t have these issues, I’ll contact BuyTwoRadios on Tuesday after New Years. Thanks.
I don't have looseness in the volume knob. Firm but not tight. The up and down issue in the "long press" menu is different from the "short press menu and channel selection. Kinda weird.
@@GadgetTalk4U thanks so much for the reply. I will call BuyTwoWayRadios on Monday and see what they say. Yes, I too have since discovered that the selection knob is only backwards for the long press menu. The short press menu and channel selection work fine. Very weird indeed. Love your channel. Thanks for all the great info you provide 👍
@@GadgetTalk4UI talked to TwoWayRadios and both of the quirks I ran across are normal they say. I found an additional quirk this evening and hoping you can replicate so that I know it’s not just my radio. If you short-press the green menu button, scroll to option 20 for call group. Does the “01” on the second line flicker? Same thing happens when you go to option 23. The “00” flickers. Thanks.
The two are very similar in operations. The big difference is that the transmit in the Q10G will be locked to GMRS channels and the antenna won't come off since it can transmit data. (FCC Rule).
@forgetyourlife The KG Q10G can transmit data. GMRS HTs that can transmit data are supposed to have non-removable antennas, by FCC rule Part 95.1785.a.4
I am not impressed, I will stay with the Yaesu ft5dr. To me 6 meter and 1.25m is useless. No one to talk to on those bands. I have the KG935 and this radio looks just like it, don't like the display.
I could not disagree more on your statement. My favorite HT is the Kenwood THD74 that has a real KISS TNC. I use that for packet email very convenient. Now we have several 6M repeaters and this radio is very helpful. I’m thinking in your area there are no repeaters being used on 6m and 1.25M. We do so this is a good radio for our area.
This seems to be a very popular radio But the gps Function. Im not convinced its worth it there are tons more features on the KG-UV9GX then this KGQ10G Jim my opinion also applys to the KG-UV9PX and The KG-Q10H @Gadget Talk
The menu and exit buttons remind me of Old House phones Call and End call buttons as well as first motorola and Nokia mobile phones 12:59

Agreed. Not sure why those boxes aren't scaleable within the main Window. Cheers.
@@GadgetTalk4U it's actually annoying they should easily be scalable

Does it program with chirp
Just perchesed the gmrs version
Nice. Let us know how you like it.
Do you have anything on the Q10g , i could use a lot of help with that one.

@@GadgetTalk4U slight correction. GMRS can have removable antennas. It’s FRS than can not.

@@GadgetTalk4U is gps not considered data? The G model does gps and the antenna does come off.
@@forgetyourlife It's not the only radio that does that. Seems it's not just wannabe bad boys that blow off the FCC. 😊
Did i understand correctly that you can receive hf bands?
No, 50 Mhz and up. Many HF radios include 50Mhz but it is technically VHF.
Great radio but the supplied cradle charger is trash. I have to use the USB-C to charge mine.
To be honest, I don't use cradles if the radio can charge with USB C. Thanks for pointing out this shortcoming. 73
