When I lived in Istanbul, Turkey during the 1960s, I heard many genres of music, Turkish, French, English, Italian, etc. I knew then that the world would be united by music. It is the universal language. Since then, I have lived in India [8 years] and Japan [one summer]and Hawaii [14 years] and California [4 years]. Now I fully embrace all good music, including European classical and Euro-pop, Gypsy Jazz manouch, Bossa nova, Hawaiian, Jazz, Mo-town, etc.

Why do people have to politicise everything in stead of appreciating the music for what it is -- an art form ? When I lived in Libya in the early 60s ( pre Kaddafi ) I had an Arab friend who heard me playing Israeli folk songs on my record player, and when I went to turn it off so as not to offend him, he said "No, leave it. It is good music." I said " But is Israeli music! " He said " Malish! ( Never mind!) Israeli or Arabi - Music is music. Leave it on."

You are so very right with music. It is also true, with humane beings. Although we are different like the notes of these two instruments are from each other, but it makes beautiful sounds. We are like the flowers in one garden, the waves of one sea, the fruits of one tree, the stars of one heaven. We can live together in peace and harmony, if only the politicians and the elites allow us.
Unity in diversity, is not only possible, it is inevitable in this day and age.
