      @@salmascreativitypen4489 No, that's what people of her village told her that witches are evil and they needed to be burn. Agatha wasn't evil witch but misunderstood girl who understood what's good or evil since her village was filled of hypocrites and people lived in their misguided ideals.
      Sophie is only true and best friend who they grew up as sisters. She never abandon her despite her being selfish and self-centered, throwing her away, she never doubt her as the Evil Princess or Evil Queen, just someone who makes mistakes.
      She stayed loyal still with her and her mom despite she did love Tedros. Usually, Princesses gave up everything to be with the Prince they loved, but Agatha was born different.

    I think this character was cleverly named. Agatha means "Good" -- however, growing up all the Agathas I've seen represented in media have either been witches/villains, old women, or women who were purposely made to look unappealing. And this character was supposed to be seen as a witch back home

    This scene in the book is much more intense. In the book, Agatha didn't know what to wish, but we could see the constant thoughts and feelings in her head *"Don't fail - Home in bed - Don't fail - Sophie safe - Don't fail - Tedros dead"* and then *"New face - Same face - Blond hair - I hate blond hair! - More friends - No friends -"* to *"Home School Mom Dad Good Bad Boys Girls Ever Never-"* and *"Fail Win Truth Lies Lost Found Strong Weak Friend Foe"* and so on, until her thoughts stop at *"Give".*

      Yeah they all laughed when her wish couldn't form any image, until even the fish were confused as to what she wanted. Then the girls all shut up when the wish fish turned human. After that, a stampede of animals all over ran towards Agatha because they wanted to be free too (favourite scene) and when she was running away she saw a gargoyle but it didn't attack her. Instead, it all also wanted to be human again. When Agatha touched the ugly stone gargoyle, it slowly turned human. It was morphing half-human when stupid Tedros came like a 'hero' and killed it, thinking it was hurting her. To all non-book readers, that was what he killed, not the bird stymph.

    • @aureliaavalon
      @aureliaavalon Рік тому +89

      @G Basar Not really, it wasn't just the stymph. It was squirrels, birds, dogs, cats, literally every animal from the forests did a raging stampede towards Agatha that even made the teachers panic. That wasn't in the movie. Agatha caused the school garden set as a memorial for King Arthur to be set on fire during the chase, that's where Tedros killed the gargoyle and why Agatha didn't like him. Around the same time, Sophie had made the Golden Goose turn blank and gray-- If Evers dealt with Wish Fish, the Nevers task was to make the golden goose lay eggs. The Golden Goose literally gave up its power and immortality in order to not grant Sophie's wish, which turned it into a normal goose and made her pass the class with a burning A+. Yeah i'm so happy you're gonna read it, the book really is superior.

      Or an airhead! I remember wanting to be a princess as a kid, but NEVER the damsel in distress! I always preferred people Like Mulan, Belle, Jasmine and especially Tiana who used their smarts to overcome problems!

    Think Dovey knew the girl Agatha just saved? I know her expression is chiefly amazement that finally there's a student who's a true princess at heart for the last few hundred years, but I also wondered if she knew the girl as well (might've been a good touch for her to say the girls name)

    I understand why many would assume the Evers aren't Good because of their lack of empathy, but I would like to add that maybe it's one of the effects of the school master corrupting Good for 200 years. It is terrible of course but every Ever is still a student, and students have plenty to learn. I don't want to assume they are bad because it would override what Agatha believed in: that human beings are complex. And while we can categorize good and evil by act, the nature of the person remains to be dynamic. The Evers can still grow to be more good and so can the Nevers grow to be more evil. As someone who has read the books I hope they would put emphasis on the fact that to be Good or Evil is not the end of the person but the progress one chooses to partake. Love the movie though still sad August Sader wasn't here.

    as Shakespeare wisely said - "All that glisters is not gold" - the "good" "beautiful" people may glister & glitter - does not make them GOOD - Agatha GIVES her wish away showing true character & beauty - *inside* _and_ out (& yes it is "glisters" - often misquoted as glitters)
