I liked what Reb did with this solo. Kept the foundation but added his own thing. It still sounded like the Lynch solo, but with an added twist here and there. Awsome!!
Reb Beach brought them back to life. He played the songs his way instead of trying to imiate George Lynch. I was surprised how well he did with Dokken. I have been a fan since Tooth & Nail. Beach didn't get to show his skill while he was in Winger and when he was in Dokken he just cut it loose. Check out his work on Dokken-Erase The Slate. All kill and no fill, that was a kick ass metal CD, bottom line.
@AndrewRios1971 actually, just for being good as lynch, Beach made his own thing in the leads. ever lynch didn't play like the recordings. it's called improvising. Lynch kicks ass. So does Beach.
they have a very different approach to the guitar. Reb is more tapping and uses a medium pick where lynch is more stretched twitchy licks with a heavy pick. Even the tone. Reb warm and fat George bright and edgy. So I don't mind the difference cause if he tried to hard it would sound weird.... :)
I cant stand to see anyone but George Lynch on the guitar for Dokken. And also, when i lisyen too a live performance, I like the guitarist to change it up a bit and play the solos a little differently.
+chris frag Yeah, no doubt I would. Dude is looking kinda rough and washed out. Those cigs and overdoing strong drink sure aren't helping his appearance.
Actually, I've only seen George play it accurately (its still always a little off) a few times he usually struggles on the fast parts and its usually less accurate then rebs rendition. just saying
Wrong . Heard him Life and he played it Fantastic. Stop hating Outstanding creative Successful Star Musicians which are legends. And dont Comapare. Music is Love and an Art. Not a Playground for Haters or Tournament.
Just like I'll say to any band (Dokken being my favorite 80s band), it isn't the same without the original lineup. It almost feels (as a fan) as if I'm being cheated on. The only acception in my opinion would be GNR with Buckethead because he's, well, Buckethead; other than that, *no original lineup, no original enthusiastic feeling for the product or performance. It's only fair after all.*
Knocking Rev? What's G lynch done in twenty years? Have u hear Dokken live 95?? Watch that then watch this. Reb owns lynch! Also lynch can't do Rebs signature tapping Levin beats em both !
Wow the man never had real strong voice but a good melodic one. Sounds like he's lost it all unfortunately. Sorry though the lynch puts way more emotion in every lick
Reb is a fantastic guitar player love his style, the whole band sounds great
Reb is like a chameleon.
Can play anyone’s style and has his own distinctive style
But can't mimic completely. From a guitar player, It's obvious it's not George.
Mr. Jeff Pilson just smokes this song throughout, great stuff
Awesome how he puts his own fills on the songs that could be part of the songs
Good performance by Don.
Can't say the same for his performances recently. Time has caught up with him.
Jeff fucking rocks!!!
What an intense and tormented soul, Don Dokken- you can hear it in his lyrics
Great bass tone just like the record
amazing band. under rated big time.
This is real music !!!!

Excellent!!! Real Rock music!
🥀Awesome Song🥀

He's great in every band he plays. The guy is so lucky. Imagine how great should be play guitar in Winger, Dokken and Whitesnake 😎
beach hung out with lynch..
The real hero of this video, the unsung hero, is Jeff.
Jeff is to Dokken as Michael is to Van Halen. Jeff Pilson is amazing.
Don's voice was still pretty good here.
Don can’t sing anymore
There is only one George Lynch but Reb kicks ass on this song!
so far so good
Reb is great, but nobody knows how Lynch bends & phrases notes... Took him since the 60's to build that knowledge.
Anyone can learn a song but only one can write it. You can only elevate it or play it after the fact
Essa musica é foda...
Good stuff
@AndrewRios1971 actually, just for being good as lynch, Beach made his own thing in the leads. ever lynch didn't play like the recordings. it's called improvising. Lynch kicks ass. So does Beach.
has been mentioned few times that reb was huge fan of Lynch but he never was out to copy Lynch he had his own style and the rest was written in play
If you can't have Lynch, Reb Beach certainly knows how to shred you up.
@rubbersatin
George Lynch has a style that can be identified, and imitated. I'm not sure that Reb Beach does,
they have a very different approach to the guitar. Reb is more tapping and uses a medium pick where lynch is more stretched twitchy licks with a heavy pick. Even the tone. Reb warm and fat George bright and edgy. So I don't mind the difference cause if he tried to hard it would sound weird.... :)

pardon my french but Reb Beach FUCKING ROCKS
Broken Arrow thrown at your feet now leave me alone
this is great! but the guys look sorta rough, even back then. when was this? around 1998?
2000. John Norum was the hired gun for 1998.
Who is this dude trying to play George? Is that Reb? I like Reb but... please.
Reb beach is the da best. Forever
Two great guitarists. George Lynch wrote it. The end of a useless comparison.
Reb Beach plays fantastic but the band does well all round.
Like Reb’s take on it
What's up with Don's voice? He's straining to hit the high notes and screeching them.
+chris frag Yeah, no doubt I would. Dude is looking kinda rough and washed out. Those cigs and overdoing strong drink sure aren't helping his appearance.
He's not a kid anymore, I think this was pretty good.
he's had trouble with his voice since the late 90s also being 60 years old don't help
Throat cancer.
Love Reb but it is a different sound than with George.
that is jeff pilson
Reb Beach is equal to George Lynch, IMO. Dokken and Winger were great rivals.
Yeah, Reb is good but there is stuff like only George could play that good
1999
To add, Neal Schon is the only guitarist I've seen mimic his records live.
Actually, I've only seen George play it accurately (its still always a little off) a few times he usually struggles on the fast parts and its usually less accurate then rebs rendition. just saying
where the hell is George Lynch???
Lynch is great but you don't feel you missed him with Rob he is unbelievably good guitarist
Even George couldn't play his solo right live!
Wrong .
Heard him Life and he played it Fantastic.
Stop hating Outstanding creative Successful Star Musicians which are legends.
And dont Comapare.
Music is Love and an Art.
Not a Playground for Haters or Tournament.
He actually plays it more accurately than George does live...lol...
@@supernatural9r406 Reb killed it are you deaf
What a small tone reb has
Jeff not only is a good singer....but he has that beefy Ampeg Svt sounding P bass tone sounds fat and a tad angry.
Who is it on bass+ drums?
Jeff Pilson and Mick Brown...the only difference is Reb Beach on guitar

Sorry better than George
no he should NOT
what´s the BS..DOKKEN is a great band..GL ws RB you´ll never know because U loose..
Beach is good, but not to Lynch's work!!! He doesnt play it completely accurate which he should if he's supposedly that good also!
George couldn’t play Reb beach solos as accurate as Reb plays the dokken stuff
@@ericedmunds9488 Lynch is better.
Beach is is Worldclass as well.
Rob is good, but no Lynch, cant play the same as album, changes the guitar playing, shows how dam difficcult Lynchs style was.
looks like a copy and , sounds like a copy
jon levin is better than both lynch and beach
