FRICKIN AWESOME ROCK AND ROLL!! This is what REAL MUSIC sounds like. DON DOKKEN AND GEORGE LYNCH are two of the most TALENTED MUSICIANS of the 80s! LEGENDARY!!!

Agreed! Next to EVH, Lynch had that angry tone and poetic solos that just made a song that much better! His solos seemed to be a verse in the song and not just filler like most bands.

Lynch has some of the craziest licks if you ever break them down. Almost like he's playing 3d chess on a guitar, while most others are only playing checkers. I'm also noticing Don used to have a little Klaus Meine, and a little Rob Halford, maybe even a little Helloween in his voice... seems to come out more live.
don did some demo work for the scorpions during the writing and recording of blackout because klaus meine was having problems with his voice due to polyps on his vocal cords which he eventually needed to have surgery to remove and needed to rest his voice as much as possible.
Philly radio would never play anything like this at the time. 93.3 (WMMR) and 94.5. There was nothing playing metal in the Tri State Area. It's a shame.

It's like a competition between George and Don. Who can be a bigger individual instead of a band member. As a new guitar player, I'd go to a show to hear my guitar God play the solos I've been slaving over in front of my face, and it's something else. It's like, wtf was that? That's not on the record. That's not in the lick ive I've been learning.
Saw this show at the Capital Centre them opening for Aerosmith. George Lynch passed out third song from the flu. I was in nosebleed seats and wanted to leave. I was there to see them! 12 years later I was fortunate to open for Dokken and hung out with Mick Brown for an hour after show. He remembered that night. Said George was dehydrated terribly and said no drugs involved because she was into health and fitness.
I saw them in November 1987 (black Friday) on this tour. They blew the roof off the place! Then Aerosmith came out, screaming and screeching, so I left halfway through their show. Dokken should have been the headliners! They always sounded as good in concert as they did on their albums. It's amazing that you got to open for them years later and got to talk to Mick!

A brief encounter
Like wind through the trees
It came so suddenly
But then it was gone
Like it had never been
How could I have ever seen
A lost heart
Will take your soul
How could I have known
How could I have known
As she took me in her arms
And brought me to an end
With the kiss of death
The kiss of death
She promised paradise
As she lied upon her bed
Like a fallen angel
With the devil's charm
She promised paradise
With the kiss of death
I tried to stop
As she held out her hand
But the fire was burning inside
She knew what i wanted
She gave it and more
But now I must pay the price
We were strangers
Passing in the night
How could I have known
How could I have known
As she took me in her arms
And brought me to an end
With the kiss of death
The kiss of death
She promised paradise
As she lied upon her bed
Like a fallen angel
With the devil's charm
She promised paradise
With the kiss of death
As she took me in her arms
I felt the devil's charm
Suddenly I see
The final destiny
With the kiss of death
The kiss of death

As she lied upon her bed
Like a fallen angel
