Hey Joe keep your videos coming, I installed a cold case in my 80 T/A 3 years ago. Your correct stock upper hose doesn’t fit, I used Napa hose part # 7478 and it looked like the 400 hose. I run a 160 t stat with a mechanical fan, and the 301 runs cool as cucumber in Connecticut.
I wish i had saved the custom turbo setup i had, they swapped exaust manifolds side to side, welded boton and redrilled top, custom y on top at the front revved smoother,no idea what it did for power figures....was my old turbo formula. Scrapped it 23 years ago...
Great video Joe!!!Since your installing a new Holly Sniper in my 81 T/A soon, I think I should have this electric fan set up installed as well since my temps creep up at hwy speeds in hot weather. Talk soon.. Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸
I've noticed that temp creep at highway speeds with mine. Triple digit temps in southern Wyoming last year and cruising at 70-75, the temp would slowly go up. Hottest it got was 230 which made me cringe. When stopping for fuel, it would cool back down.
Engine temp will creep up on the highway because the coolant is moving through the radiator to quick. Put a 180 thermostat in it and your car will stay more consistant and the fans will run LESS TIME. I learned this years ago. Without enough time in the rad it won't get cooled.
I love your devotion and experimentation. Your creating a plethora of knowledge, mods and options for others to explore. Cool stuff, thanks!
Nice video Joe! The Cold Case Aluminum Radiator is 1st Class!
