    Keep suckin down those caparinhas. Did anyone throw Whopper Ploppers? They make the right noise and are easy to rip, don't foul much. I've got a few packed.

    • @CaptainShane
      @CaptainShane  6 років тому

      +Roxanne Lubinsky I threw a WP for a few minutes. I really didn’t give it a proper chance.

    • @ZZMOKIN
      @ZZMOKIN 6 років тому

      Going back down in two weeks, will let you know how the Ploppers worked. I took a Double Plopper the last two trips but the guide said no way. Also ask Kermett about the "Snake Charmer". He makes a 3 1/2"and a 4 1/2", it's like an egg drilled thru, double props like his big choppers but with a wire/swivel to a single 3/0 treble out the belly that will swing free like a Spooltek. The Plopper's got to work, yesterday practice ripping a small 3 1/2" one got a 5.64 pound and a 6.2 pound bass in my back yard pond (Palm Beach) where a 3 is the usual big one.

      @ZZMOKIN 6 років тому

      Water level was very good, had a few good days north, fish got smaller heading back south toward Barcelos. The big choppers worked better than the WP, a 3 hook with the rear hook off was the ticket, of course jigs still got more fish. The best my buddy and I could come up with were two 16s, I got a 10, a 12 and a 16 79cm in one hour on a High Roller halloween then my buddy got his 16 on a jig after I fluffed them with the chopper. Lots of 6 - 9s. One day by 4:00 we had only 30 fish but only three less than five pounds and then we got another 25 smaller ones to finish the day the last hour.

      That sounds like a great trip

    • @ZZMOKIN
      @ZZMOKIN 6 років тому

      Yeah, you get spoiled real fast. Then when you throw the chopper for over an hour and nothing it gets old - sure you know the feeling. Of course that's when the hit comes and puts the rod out of your hands. Days 2, 3 and 4 we saw huge fish launching out of the water chasing bait.

    No knock on you...but the Florida Peacocks look better...better fed and more color. Most of the Amazon fish that are living in Florida,Pacu,Cichlids, seem also to be fuller stomachs. Maybe the Amazon is much more fished out then people think?

    • @CaptainShane
      @CaptainShane  6 років тому

      It would be my opinion that the Amazon is just a much more harsh environment for the fish to survive and thrive.
