The relationship that you share with your mom reminds me of the relationship me and my mom have. Just a bunch of messing with each other. And this podcast felt incomplete in the first half with no Marty, it’s the duality of Yola and Marty that makes this podcast so unique and unable to be copied. But this was still hands down one of the best ones so far.

I can see yolas resentment towards his mom in this. There is alotttt of unresolved trauma. He wants to address it but she guilty and embarrassed. He doesn’t respect her because he knows now as an adult that his mom didn’t give him an adequate upbringing… she beat the shit out of him because of her string of volatile relationships. I can tell yola was a bad kid, but I reckon he would be so much more emotionally expressive if he wasn’t told he was a nuisance as a kid
