- Shahi paneer is a preparation of paneer, native to the Indian subcontinent, consisting of a thick gravy of cream, tomatoes, and Indian spices.
Originating with the creamy delicacies of Mughlai cuisine (hence the term "shahi", in reference to the royal title of Shahanshah in Mughal India), this dish is prepared by emulsifying tomatoes, onions, ground cashews, clarified butter and cream into a curry, with the addition of paneer cubes and a variety of spices.
It is mainly eaten with traditional Indian flat-breads like roti or naan, rice, and bread.

The most irresistible Paneer dish is Shahi Paneer. Though many versions of the same exist, mine is simple & of course yummy.

Ingredients
For Curry
Tomatoes - 500gms
Black cardamom - 2 no
Onion - 250 gms
Cinnamon stick (small) - 1 no
Bayleaf - 1 no
Garlic cloves - 8 nos
Green cardamom - 4 nos
Ginger chopped - 1½ tbsp
Cloves - 4 nos
Green chilly - 2 no
Cashew nuts - ¾ cup
Butter - 2 tbsp
Chilli powder (kashmiri) - 1 tbsp
In the pan
Butter - 2 tbsp
Green chilli slit - 1 no
Ginger chopped - 1 tsp
Paneer cubes - 1½ cup
Red chilli powder (kashmiri) - a pinch
Curry - add the above pureed curry
Salt - to taste
Sugar - a large pinch
Kasoori methi Powder - ¼ tsp
Cream - ½ cup

Tried this last night and I loved how it turned out! The sauce alone was so yummy! Definitely making this again. Make sure to take your bay leaf, cardamom and cinnamon stick before blending.

Very easy recipe
But this recipe is for many persons
Required ingredients--
Paneer
Tomatoes - 500gm
Onion - 250gm
Cashew nuts - 50gm
Garlic - 10 nos (according to your taste)
Ginger - 1tbsp
Green chilli
Bay leaf
Cardamom
Cinnamon
Black cardamom
Cloves
Kashmiri chilli powder
Butter
I have made it a couple of times now..Not only it is amazingly delicious but also the simplest shahi paneer recipe ever. Highly recommended for dinner parties at home as you can put all the ingredients and while it cooks for 20 mints,you can do other work..

I tried it. What i like is that it's prepared by boiling instead of "bunai" so very less oil is used and hence healthy. Also it doesn't take a lot of effort to make and easy to balance flavour. Anybody who is trying for first time this recipe will oost your confidence. And its yum as well. I didn't add cream still it was tasty.
