  • Nine months later.
As many of you know, we lost my younger sibling and best friend, Austin, last summer. Austin was a vibrant soul, a warm companion, and a passionate advocate for the world.
If you’d like to help continue Austin’s vital work for our natural world, here’s a link: linktr.ee/austinkcgegel
If you can’t donate (I know times are hard), then now, as spring arrives, is a wonderful time to help local bees, butterflies, and other pollinators thrive by planting local flowers for them. Seeing these get planted all over the world in Austin’s memory and in continued support of Austin’s work has been so inspiring and uplifting during these tremendously difficult times.
As for me - I’m doing okay. Grief is a friend I sip tea with. We sit in the quiet and know each other.
In this season of rebirth, I’m hyper aware that some things end. There’s a lingering chill to this season that reminds me how lucky I was to stand in Austin’s sun. Spring comes anyway.
    I miss you, bub.

Oh Cedric, I'm so sorry about your brother. My 2nd son's name is Austin and, believe it or not, the shipment of native flower plants I ordered in January arrived at my house on the very day you made this video. We're expecting a frost overnight so they're sleeping in the garage tonight but I will be planting them, soon. Now I'll think of your Austin when I'm out in that flower garden. Big hugs for you and your family. ~ Robin

It's good to have a little check-in every once in awhile with not only you but with ourselves too. Lovely ideas to either plant plants or donate to one of the charities that you have in his memory. Take care. 😌❤

Hi Cedric, good to hear from you. I will be planting seeds over the next few weeks-starting them off inside as it's still chilly here in Yorkshire, England. Sending you and your family warm thoughts. 🌺🌼🌸

@@CedricGegel1Amen, brother. BTW, I don't always comment, but I love your Dimash reaction videos. You seem to "get" the emotional messaging embedded in most of Dimash's music. It's what provoked/inspired me to get a vocal coach at 66 years old. Hang in there, gifted friend, knowing none of your frustrations, disappointments, and pain are wasted or pointless but are being used in the hands of our Lord to conform you more and more into his likeness.

    You take care.
As some things are meant to end, some will begin, and some will be a constant. The hurts of grief will still be there. But there'll still be hope. And there'll still be joy.
I'll plant those pollinators, as promised.

“Grief is a circular staircase.” I feel it all - the grief, the joy, the hope. Such complex things, but they know each other well. Thank you so much 🤍
