Joe Rogan says some obnoxiously dumb things at times, like the classic "he's hurt!!" false alarm, or the "his leg is destroyed," after 3 leg kicks. The problem is, his reactions and enthusiasm are iconic. Joe's reaction added to the moment Max Holloway dropped Justin Gaetjhe and without him, it's not quite the same level. In my opinion, Joe with Anik creates the best reactions to finishing sequences.
I like the commentary with Rogan and DC but I didn't really disagree with anything said here. I usually watch the PPV's with buddies though so I admittedly don't hear all of it. But i dig hearing those dudes have fun and cracking jokes. Bisping and Sanko are the best though, glad you gave them a shout-out
What if?/My Hot Take Jorge Masvidal doesn’t land the flying knee on Ben Askren. How’d you think that fight would play out instead? Personally I think Masvidal would have got smothered and out wrestled on the ground. But at the end of the day I’m glad it went the way it did, I was rooting for Masvidal and it will go down as 1 of the most iconic moments in UFC history.
A lot of sports commentators have the same problem. They come to the game/fight with a pre-prepared narrative outlined in their mind based on how they anticipate events will play out. If it doesn't go the way they expected they tend to stay with the same script regardless.

Don’t think its fair to hold the female divisions thing against them. WMMA has been a part of the ufc for years now, and the title fights are always put as main and co main events despite the lower hype from the fans. And its not like the top ranked women are getting paid less either.

We need to allow knees to grounded opponents, or rather just kicks in general. Soccer kicks, up-kicks, etc. It’s so wrestler centric and is completely unfair to the striker. It gives free leeway for any wrestler to stink up a fight by spamming take down attempts. The grounded knee would deter lame combat and force grapplers to be more well-rounded and smart. Evloev, Aljomain, Islam, Arman, etc. They will be forced to adapt.
Sanko is brilliant and noticeably puts in the work. Cruz is a good talker, but is VERY inconsistent on commentary imo. He sometimes breaks things down better than anyone, but then he’ll sound like he’s not even watching the fight.😂
You’re 100% right there are too many fighters. If those fighters were making names for themselves in other promotions it’s better for them and the sport. Instead UFC hordes the talent and wastes them
I agree with Joe being outdated, but I will take no Paul Felder slander. He is great! Don’t know what anyone can’t like about him. Sanko is great, Bisping is great and DC is just ok. I feel like DC becomes the most biased for sure. But I also feel like the UFC does a good amount to grow the sport. Multiple PI’s with plans for many more, Contender Series, Road to the UFC, Lookin’ for a Fight. I’m not sure what more they could do to serve the less veteran athletes than giving them a platform that tests their skills before the UFC.
Felder has definitely improved since he first started commentating! I think for me it's just lingering memories of the learning curve and in a few years he'll crack my top 3 haha

The crap Joe and the commentators gave Khabib, going on about how he was unprompted, meanwhile they’re refusing to address the fact that Connor assaulted his bus! He went to court and the UFC refuses to address it. He makes money, I feel like everyone gets it. But Connor is bad for the sport, his fans are worse for the sport, and Dana is just enabling it. On Monday i somebody commented that GSP wasn’t a top five fighter because he fought “bums” but Connor is! It’s absolutely ridiculous, the history and the art of the sport is being destroyed by a dude who’s leg was broken on national television

Your commentary team is great but I can’t imagine a PPV without Jon anik. Try listening to the ufc on espn theme or the tale of the tape without hearing his voice in your head. It’s not possible! And also, while I agree the double champ talk is annoying, I don’t think it’s holding up divisions just yet. Only volk has gone up in recent times and if O’malley knocks out merab he probably deserves it next. Leon or DDP is ridiculous right now tho for sure.
