In this video I show the process of me making a Damascus ladder pattern kitchen knife. this was my first really successful ladder-pattern. To get the latter effect I made some diys with a lot of grooves which which changed the layers from being straight to being wavy.

quick tip from a native english speaker regarding your webpage; it's "in stock" not "on stock". Lovely work though.

UA-cam: Why don't you watch this video of steel getting the shiz hammered out of it for 15-20 min. There's a badass knife at the end tho.
Joking aside, you're very talented. Your results are very impressive.

Very well done, Joe. Have you ever considered doing a feather Damascus pattern? This the little EDC on the left (in this link bit.ly/2T1jrbF) was my first attempt at it. I think it would have been easier to do if I had a hydraulic press like you, but that's all hammered and coal forging. Keep up the good work!

How to you grind the knife? How many grits do you use before hand sanding? And what grits are you hand sanding with?

nice, the damascus came out nicely good job on the etch. The handle shaping seems a bit odd to me. it looks like your going for a fairly traditional western shape kind of like something you'd see on one of Liam hoffman's knives, but it seems to me the preparations are a bit off. the idea with this kind of handle is to have you front two fingers index into the front flat wish section of the handle closest to the choir and have your back two fingers index into the curved back section. the top usually has a pretty even curve with a very slight flair at the back of the handle. also usually this handles have a very significant palm swell and sometimes a swell at the pommel area.

Nice work. Were you worried about rust between the billet chunks on the old half welded stack?

I was very impressed with the first part of the video, I was surprised at the use of the press to shape the ladder pattern, very nice. Then you went to the easy out, instead of forging and shaping the knife, you cut it it to shape like a rank amateur that doesn't want to put in the sweat and blood to truly make it your creation. Tell me I'm wrong and the buyer requested that approach. Thank you
