  • UDOT and Oak Hills Constructors rebuilt US-89 from Farmington to Layton, completing the largest road construction project in Utah since 2012. The project included:
-Removing and replacing the existing pavement
-Widening the highway to three lanes in each direction
Replacing five traffic signal intersections with four interchanges, including on and off-ramps, to improve traffic flow and enhance safety
    -Adding two bridges
-Building a new frontage road system to connect local neighborhoods
-Constructing three new pedestrian crossings to connect to future trail networks
-Extending Gordon Avenue and built a new road system to support Layton City's future plans for a town center
-Upgrading the parking lot for the Adams Canyon Trail
Work began in early 2020 and was completed in summer 2023.

One of the best managed projects that opened early - even from an early stage the stoplights were removed and traffic flow was better during construction than even before construction started. Trails and frontage roads make it much safer now. Having the bridges over the highway makes the finished project especially appealing.
