Does anyone actually spend IRL money on progressive items in single player games? I don't see the point whatsoever with a video game. It's like buying a Lego kit, then paying Lego again to build it for you.
LowSkillSurvival, I agree with your point but I think that your calculations are flawed. Firstly, nobody would release 20+ hours DLC for free. Nobody ever did. For instance 15 years ago Half-life 2 came out (damn time flows quick), in 2006 Half-Life Episode 1 came out (4-5 hours to beat it), it cost 20$ (information from internet, I bought it in my country where it cost about 15$). Secondly. 10 and 15 years ago this wouldn't have cost 10$ or 15$. I'm not familiar with the prices of huge DLCs except for New Vegas (They are very good in terms of story, but leave standart NV gameplay intact. You could beat them in 4-5 hours each (except for Honest hearts, it lasted 2-3 hours) and they cost 10$ each). And also don't forget that the inflaton is taking it's toll on the price of the games and DLCs. My point is, New Dawn should have been sold for 30-40$ max. Definately it's not worth 60$ (Same map, same gameplay) ans also especially because of microtransactions.

Its better than 5 and actually makes it so 5 isnt so shitty... if they didnt make new dawn... 5 would be one of the worst storylines out of all of them...
Letting Joseph life at the end was actually more satisfying in my opinion. He lost everyone he loved, hates itself and is just crying and screaming "deliever me" into the night as you leave. Also he is staring at you in confusion when you put the gun away like someone who is used to that people always do what he says. It was a nice reparation for the unsatisfying endings of Far Cry 5.
Mr What's his name? Far cry 5 was fucking awesome. A little glitchy but I had no trouble having a wonderful experience playing on the hardest difficulty. People need to chill out and learn how to play the game. People need to do their research on a game before they give their money up and bitch about it.
I actually loved Far Cry 5, I loved the feeling I had while playing it. The calmness and the beauty of the countryside, the soundtrack which is quite good and fits the theme really well, combat was alright, just like most games nowadays, the story was generic... I liked that game, but this one, from what I've seen, looks even more generic and goes for a funnier look. I think that the desaturated and brownish color palete from 5 was charming, this one looks like every other video game forest, with pink spots every now and then to make it "different". This is one of those games you buy three years later when it goes for 6 bucks on steam and actually have a decent time playing it, but charging 40 for this is a bald move.

Yeah I liked the boss fights and story in far cry 5, I just wish they could of made new dawn less off a paid conclusion to a game that leaves you on a cliff hanger.

Not to mention, it literally makes no sense that hundreds of cars would be vertically placed that close together on that small of a map. They could’ve at least made some of the cars stick out of the ground in different ways, but they were too lazy

@@brosephnoonan223 its actually more like half a decade old. I dont remember it being condemned. In my opinion Far Cry 3, 4, 5, & New Dawn are some of the most repetitive and similar games in existence. So I liked Primal for shaking that formula up.
When he said how he experienced a glitch every 5 minutes in-game, that isn't the same for me. In Holland Valley, I had trouble with how I parachuted through the bottom of the map, but that's been the only region so fart that's had that problem. Henbane River is a lot less glitchy and on the rate occasion there is a glitch, it's just from a dead enemy that got crushed while falling out of a vehicle and getting stuck inside the door.
Rennsreview: I wanted to let the twin to survive because she had an epiphany and feel she had learned her lesson. Also rennsreview: Joseph seed being different in his mindset is dumb because he was a bad guy in the last game. I killed him because he feels he did everything wrong.

Lol, yeah. I killed the twin instantly. I fucking hated their 12yo girl ghetto talk and all they did was kill for shits n giggles and pillage. That "realization" Micky had was so forced, unearned, and just didn't feel authentic. Joseph was a hell of a lot harder. I actually genuinly refused to pull the trigger, not just waited to see if something scripted would happen. He only ever killed those that got in the way of saving people from the nukes. He may have drugged and kidnapped a lot of people, but ultimately, he WAS right, and he did save people. The rookie did more damage and caused more death than he ever did.

You can kinda just blow right through this game. I appreciate the fact that it was only $40 but this really should've been a DLC for FarCry 5. My favorite weapon is the Blood Dragon themed Bow. So easy to find your arrows. 😂

I liked this game, I understand it wasn't groundbreaking new shit , but this game was meant for people who just wanted more to do in a Farcry 5 game which I loved. They kept the same game mechanics, but changed the setting enough to where it still felt like a different game.
Joseph seed in my opinion was one of my favorite villains, and FC5 one of my fav games. I loved 5 for making me care about the story of this cult leader and his lieutenants. Joseph is the nice guy he was in ND because he did what he had to do. He finished his work, and the collapse was upon us. He finished what 'god' wanted him to do, so what reason does he have to continue being a sadistic freak?

I agree man it was a pretty damn good story and I really feel like it was the best story in the franchise and not cheesy and generic and for the first time the main character made sense as he was a rookie officer unlike the previous games it was an inexperienced person. New dawn is a good conclusion and together both the storied are very good the only problem is new dawn is short and was not an expansion 🤷🏻♂️

As someone who is blind, it pained me that I wasn’t able to play far cry 5, so new dawn let’s me see the potential for games for blind people, and new fans is my new favorite game

A few things: -1:00 but it's supposed to be a reskin. -far cry 3 mechanics were some of the worst I've ever experienced. Really really stupid -far cry 5 for me had little to no glitches. Easily my favorite far cry game -far cry 4 was ok, loved Troy Baker (main enemy whom I can't remember the name), mechanics were good and takedowns felt beautiful -far cry new dawn was ok. Joseph was my favorite part. I don't care if you want to insult my opinion on these games, don't waste your time, but that's how I felt about them.

I very very strongly disagree. I loved this game and absolutely love the story knowings it’s a continuation of far cry 5 story. It’s not perfect but it’s a great game. I loved seeing what happened to Joseph seed more and see how he’s really changed for the better. Both games work together to make a great series. Both are excellent games and I’m sorry you can’t see why.
Apparently one element makes a game great. If the game had 4 times the amount of glitches, you would probably still call it great. Game mechanics should be the main focus for a shooter, not storyline. I guess if the game only offered the ability to walk around and follow an AI around that shot for you, it's a great game as long as you get to know the storyline. Oh wait it does offer that.

I was sort of the opposite. I didn't exactly hate FC5, but I thought it was pretty boring and didn't finish it. On the other hand I thought New Dawn was a decent game and I enjoyed it for what it is. It didn't bring anything new to the table but it was a fun shooter with a story that kept me engaged. They're both pretty bland but ND at least kept me playing.
Personally i love Far Cry 5 and ND, but i very well respect your opinion and even agree on some points, but if there's anything that anyone should take out of these two reviews, it is that we should have far higher standards for devs when they create games.

Far Cry 2 and Blood Dragon are still the best, imo. It perfectly captures the complete opposites of what the franchise wants to be and no other game in the series seems to go one way or another and that’s an issue to some degree.
Damn a horde mission? Remember in Halo 1 back in 2001 there's that first mission on the Halo ring itself, where you defend a squad of marines from like 6 dropships? How far we've innovated. Honestly at least with that horde mission at least it looked cool. Forked dropships and cool enemy designs. Not just people in fruity balaclavas driving ATVs at you. Edit: Bruh the boat ride and 'find a way to open the gate' is LITERALLY half-life 2 hoverboat section where you have to find out how to progress. Except it was actually more interesting than shooting wood.

I think FC5 was the best of all FC releases. Calling FC5 insulting and not knowing that Primal made use of the same map as FC4 seems a bit attention whoring to me.
100% agree, I don't get why it is judged so badly by some. I really enjoyed the game and couldn't get enough of it. I got both FC5 & New Dawn and started playing it after completing FC5. It feels "less" and under expectations after FC5.

The B O R I N G travelling between the sea of trees was bad enough and they even had to inject it with depressing music. Terrible ending which makes the player feel that everything he did was useless and that you should have sided with the psychopaths. The levelling system is perk based and location based, like activating "prepper stashes" instead of radio towers. Often forcing you to play annoying puzzles to access the place (more complex and less fun than predecessors). Less weapons, see-through syringe is less accessible and overall clunkier user interface. Too many boring side missions based on boring travelling, boring car races and scavenging for NPC useless items like comic books and lighters. The hero was absolutely boring, a generic mute shit eater with a boring monotone villain whose main performance was staring at your computer screen. And why is leaving the most moral or rational choice? While were supposed to sympathize with these freaks popping eyeballs and burning people alive? Contrived story with a garbage ending, a punishment for enjoying the game.

Yo remember how in farcry 2 you had to destroy weapon convoys to unlock new weapons. Man even if it was the same thing every time, it still felt like an achievement unlocking weapons that you get good at using.

However if his right leg is busted he would not be driving, or WALKING! I played the game when it came out so it's been awhile and I apologize for ranting, this game just seems dumb sometimes. I don't even remember playing half of it.
I don't agree with you. I was largely hyped about new dawn only because I absolutely loved far cry 5. There were times where I did question the game a bit, especially when those forced missions came, but that was forgivable, and otherwise I loved the game and I played it every day, I completed it 7 times, 2 of which was infamous difficulty, and all because the game was so unique to me, that I never got bored of it. When new dawn was announced, I was part of the skeptic train. I knew what happened with primal. But the day the game came out, and I got to play, all of my doubts were proven wrong. I loved it just as I did FC5. I had minor issues with the element of the enemy tiers, but I got used to it after a while, and I also got the better tier weps preety soon. I was worried that I'm going to recognize the old places and it's going to feel lazy and distracting, but the places were so different that I sometimes took it upon myself as a challenge to try to recognize where I would be one the old map. The thing I disliked the most was how they cut large areas of the map(which I'm not sure why you didn't even mention it, since it would fit into the overall unreasonable pickiness and negativity of your review). Yes, the ai can be clunky, but I don't think it's worth wasting a sentence whining about how the npc is blocking your way when you literally can just click one button and tell him exactly where to go. And I don't think it's worth anyone's time whining about the game having microtransactions,I completed the game in 4 days since release, have the best weapons and perks and didn't spend a penny on microtransactions.

I invited the Judge to watch Joseph fall to pieces after admitting he was a fraud. The Deputy deserved that much. Then I took him back to Prosperity to start over with his old friends and ended my playthrough there.
Man, it's FC5's post apocalyptic sequel in which you can reset and re-take the camps as much as you want for bonus rewards (and fun) and upgrade the weapons and some of your perks infinitely! So if you enjoy a single player sandbox Far Cry game, go for it!
I see some of your points but I really liked these two games because I had FUN and it was a great sandbox to blow shit up with an awesome looking customizable character that you could upgrade from being a badass to a super badass I do admit the story could’ve been better ,but other than that these games were a blast to play and in the end isn’t that what matters
I'm so glad someone is actually voicing that they did not like 5 and New Dawn. I was so disappointed with 5 even though I played it through. But New Dawn was just so damn boring, except for the idea of the excursions, they were still lame but the idea of them was cool. While I'm very hesitant to get hyped for 6, I'm hoping it isn't another cash grab and lazy attempt at far cry by Ubisoft. They need to seriously take a look back at far cry 4 and past games to make 6 what it should be. I hate how all of Ubisoft games have gotten so boring and stale, as well as pretty much the same as each other.
i loved new dawn. i thought it improved pretty much everything from farcry 5 which i also loved. i wish instead of being a new game it had been a DLC so we had the map editor and multiplayer components there still.
It’s Annoying because with some more changes Far Cry 5 could have been so much better as it would have been a focus point for more content then using it on New Dawn

Letting Joseph life at the end was actually more satisfying in my opinion. He lost everyone he loved, hates itself and is just crying and screaming "deliever me" into the night as you leave. Also he is staring at you in confusion when you put the gun away like someone who is used to that people always do what he says. It was a nice reparation for the unsatisfying endings of Far Cry 5.

I actually loved Far Cry 5, I loved the feeling I had while playing it. The calmness and the beauty of the countryside, the soundtrack which is quite good and fits the theme really well, combat was alright, just like most games nowadays, the story was generic... I liked that game, but this one, from what I've seen, looks even more generic and goes for a funnier look. I think that the desaturated and brownish color palete from 5 was charming, this one looks like every other video game forest, with pink spots every now and then to make it "different". This is one of those games you buy three years later when it goes for 6 bucks on steam and actually have a decent time playing it, but charging 40 for this is a bald move.

When he said how he experienced a glitch every 5 minutes in-game, that isn't the same for me. In Holland Valley, I had trouble with how I parachuted through the bottom of the map, but that's been the only region so fart that's had that problem. Henbane River is a lot less glitchy and on the rate occasion there is a glitch, it's just from a dead enemy that got crushed while falling out of a vehicle and getting stuck inside the door.

Joseph was a hell of a lot harder. I actually genuinly refused to pull the trigger, not just waited to see if something scripted would happen. He only ever killed those that got in the way of saving people from the nukes. He may have drugged and kidnapped a lot of people, but ultimately, he WAS right, and he did save people. The rookie did more damage and caused more death than he ever did.

Joseph seed in my opinion was one of my favorite villains, and FC5 one of my fav games. I loved 5 for making me care about the story of this cult leader and his lieutenants. Joseph is the nice guy he was in ND because he did what he had to do. He finished his work, and the collapse was upon us. He finished what 'god' wanted him to do, so what reason does he have to continue being a sadistic freak?

-far cry 3 mechanics were some of the worst I've ever experienced. Really really stupid
-far cry 5 for me had little to no glitches. Easily my favorite far cry game
-far cry 4 was ok, loved Troy Baker (main enemy whom I can't remember the name), mechanics were good and takedowns felt beautiful
-far cry new dawn was ok. Joseph was my favorite part.

I very very strongly disagree. I loved this game and absolutely love the story knowings it’s a continuation of far cry 5 story. It’s not perfect but it’s a great game. I loved seeing what happened to Joseph seed more and see how he’s really changed for the better. Both games work together to make a great series. Both are excellent games and I’m sorry you can’t see why.

Apparently one element makes a game great. If the game had 4 times the amount of glitches, you would probably still call it great. Game mechanics should be the main focus for a shooter, not storyline. I guess if the game only offered the ability to walk around and follow an AI around that shot for you, it's a great game as long as you get to know the storyline. Oh wait it does offer that.

I was sort of the opposite. I didn't exactly hate FC5, but I thought it was pretty boring and didn't finish it. On the other hand I thought New Dawn was a decent game and I enjoyed it for what it is. It didn't bring anything new to the table but it was a fun shooter with a story that kept me engaged. They're both pretty bland but ND at least kept me playing.
Personally i love Far Cry 5 and ND, but i very well respect your opinion and even agree on some points, but if there's anything that anyone should take out of these two reviews, it is that we should have far higher standards for devs when they create games.

100% agree, I don't get why it is judged so badly by some. I really enjoyed the game and couldn't get enough of it. I got both FC5 & New Dawn and started playing it after completing FC5. It feels "less" and under expectations after FC5.

The B O R I N G travelling between the sea of trees was bad enough and they even had to inject it with depressing music. Terrible ending which makes the player feel that everything he did was useless and that you should have sided with the psychopaths.
The levelling system is perk based and location based, like activating "prepper stashes" instead of radio towers. Often forcing you to play annoying puzzles to access the place (more complex and less fun than predecessors). Less weapons, see-through syringe is less accessible and overall clunkier user interface. Too many boring side missions based on boring travelling, boring car races and scavenging for NPC useless items like comic books and lighters.
The hero was absolutely boring, a generic mute shit eater with a boring monotone villain whose main performance was staring at your computer screen. And why is leaving the most moral or rational choice? While were supposed to sympathize with these freaks popping eyeballs and burning people alive? Contrived story with a garbage ending, a punishment for enjoying the game.

However if his right leg is busted he would not be driving, or WALKING! I don't agree with you. I was largely hyped about new dawn only because I absolutely loved far cry 5. There were times where I did question the game a bit, especially when those forced missions came, but that was forgivable, and otherwise I loved the game and I played it every day, I completed it 7 times, 2 of which was infamous difficulty, and all because the game was so unique to me, that I never got bored of it. When new dawn was announced, I was part of the skeptic train. I knew what happened with primal. But the day the game came out, and I got to play, all of my doubts were proven wrong. I loved it just as I did FC5. I had minor issues with the element of the enemy tiers, but I got used to it after a while, and I also got the better tier weps preety soon. I was worried that I'm going to recognize the old places and it's going to feel lazy and distracting, but the places were so different that I sometimes took it upon myself as a challenge to try to recognize where I would be one the old map. The thing I disliked the most was how they cut large areas of the map(which I'm not sure why you didn't even mention it, since it would fit into the overall unreasonable pickiness and negativity of your review). Yes, the ai can be clunky, but I don't think it's worth wasting a sentence whining about how the npc is blocking your way when you literally can just click one button and tell him exactly where to go. And I don't think it's worth anyone's time whining about the game having microtransactions,I completed the game in 4 days since release, have the best weapons and perks and didn't spend a penny on microtransactions.

far cry three- good story, likeable charecters and even likeable villans
far cry 4-...guy shows up and fights a war that isnt even his own
far cry 5- * Beats bear to death whith a bat filled with teeth and high on every drug* NOW THIS IS SOME SENSELESS VIOLENCE I CAN GET BEHIND......also story was pretty ok

19:52 no it's an expansion for 5 kind of like a test for what people like they've been doing it for a while like far cry 3. blood dragon was an expansion (also not a reskin pls stop saying that) and the twist for far cry 5s was that the highwaymen took over and the twins although there really wasn't really anything goofy

For my experience far cry 5 and new dawn are the only ones almost bug free of the franchise 😂

if you like the story its not a bad game it was cool revisiting locations 18 years after nuclear war.
Man, it's FC5's post apocalyptic sequel in which you can reset and re-take the camps as much as you want for bonus rewards (and fun) and upgrade the weapons and some of your perks infinitely! So if you enjoy a single player sandbox Far Cry game, go for it!
Dude this is a spin-off like blood dragon or primal, that's why it has the same map, and gameplay. That's why it's not full price

I see some of your points but I really liked these two games because I had FUN and it was a great sandbox to blow shit up with an awesome looking customizable character that you could upgrade from being a badass to a super badass I do admit the story could’ve been better ,but other than that these games were a blast to play and in the end isn’t that what matters

I'm so glad someone is actually voicing that they did not like 5 and New Dawn. I was so disappointed with 5 even though I played it through. But New Dawn was just so damn boring, except for the idea of the excursions, they were still lame but the idea of them was cool. While I'm very hesitant to get hyped for 6, I'm hoping it isn't another cash grab and lazy attempt at far cry by Ubisoft. They need to seriously take a look back at far cry 4 and past games to make 6 what it should be. I hate how all of Ubisoft games have gotten so boring and stale, as well as pretty much the same as each other.
i loved new dawn. i thought it improved pretty much everything from farcry 5 which i also loved.
i wish instead of being a new game it had been a DLC so we had the map editor and multiplayer components there still.
