Your first method is by far the best method I have ever tried for craw! The second method seems to be what almost everyone uses. I found I kept getting lost on what was “up, “ i.e., where I needed to be to add the next unit. I use small bamboo skewers as a dowel, and I generally keep it in my work for the first 10 units or so. Thank you SO much for sharing this technique!

You are most welcome! Craw is a hurdle lots of beaders get stuck on, I am still on a mission to make it easier to learn 🥰

Thank you for this tutorial, I am much better at Craw now thanks to your videos. And I always start with a pick, it's easier than trying to handle small beads.

Brilliant idea using four bead colors! Best CRAW tutorial I’ve seen. And I’ve been looking at a lot! Can’t wait to see your connection video. If you show it as well as this, I’m sure I will finally get it!

Thanks ! I am about to start a project using craw and it’s been awhile. I have been doing praw which I find easier and faster for most projects. Hope I can keep this straight.

I like the pick method. I've always started it in my fingers, which is hard with smaller beads. Thanks.

I found that using 2 colors worked great for my craw learning. I used 1 for wall beads and one for floor/ceiling beads. I also started with 3 mm beads of 2 colors until I got comfortable. Might help someone else.

I am apparently unable to do craw. Your tutorial was great I substituted a hat pin for a bead pick, it was still fiddley and turned into a ball of beads. I watched every other tutorial on it spending about 8 hrs off and on and got a ball of beads. 🤕I noticed in the picture of the necklace the designer added in smaller beads in addition to her craw beads but in a separate step. I just went ahead and did praw. I may try again when I’m not using dark garnet beads with a Picasso finish, they read almost black.

Where did you get your pick? I'm looking everywhere and can't find one.

I had it for years! Have a look on ebay or amazon and search for beading awl
