Heath Ledger and Joaquín Phoenix came at the role from completely different angles and both men were superb. That said I was not prepared for how really good JP was at portraying the introverted and disturbed Arthur Fleck's decent into madness. JP portrayal was the more interesting of the two imho..

I’m surprised Michael Massee didn’t make the cut. He’s the actor who fired the shot that killed Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow in 1993. He took a year off, seriously considered quitting, never saw the movie, and still has nightmares about the incident to this day.

Heath Ledger as the Joker is the best, deep, comprehensive and dark acting I ever seen. I can't think of anything better. Sometimes records are set that never, ever will be best. Examples are Joe DiMaggio's consecutive hitting streak, Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points in one basketball game...ect. This is the case with Ledger. Astonishing acting in that movie. Like he channeled the role in a way that can never be topped. I can watch that movie and never get tired. I read many times he locked himself in a hotel room for a month. Unbelievable. The Pianist was close. Till this day I watch that movie, I cry like a baby. That movie was one of the most believable acting I ever seen. Sometimes you watch a movie and you can tell they did this or that with one take. There are some things special effects can enhance and other times you can see right thru it.

Method acting is dangerous, because it causes many injuries and emotional distress for actors! Honestly Joaquin Phoenix shouldn’t even reprise his role in the sequel, it’s just not worth doing another Joker movie! Also Sissy Spacek in Carrie felt traumatized by Brian De Palma for doing scenes multiple times because of props malfunctioning and causing injuries on set!

I don't think it would traumatize her. There are worse things in the franchise. She would be traumatized by the hatred she received for the role

4:08 Good for Quentin for giving Uma the video .... eventually. I am an actor / stunt performer. I also served 7 years in the military, 3 in the infantry, 4 in the Special Forces in direct action. It is the exact same in the Forces and industry. When the powers that be fork it up they will do everything under the sun to avoid responsibility, for the "greater good!". Problem is someone somewhere always knows the truth and eventually it comes out making them look worse.

When you watch the Jim Carrey version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas for the first time, the smile towards the beginning looks like CGI. It's actually Jim Carrey's face doing that. They don't call him the rubber-faced man for nothing.

Michelle Pfeiffer should have absolutely been on this list. White Oleander was so difficult for her that she actually quit acting and didn't come back until she was asked specifically back to Stardust years later.
