Update: I have installed the new display that Lectric sent me, which was pretty simple to do with the right set of hex keys, and went on a 10-mile ride. No error message! I will continue to ride it at least a few more times and will post another update if that changes. Thanks for watching!
@@rborroto i’ve had the bike for about 5 days now and i have 0 complaints, it is comfortable, fast, and does the job. but for me, the brakes are very squeaky when i use them and the steering of the bike might be a tad bit difficult sometimes. other than that it’s a must buy for sure
That was probably one of the most up front and posibly honest review of the Lectric xp bike that I have seen on UA-cam. Most other UA-cam channels that got this bike for free seem like they were obligated to say only nice things regarding the bike in order to satiate the Lectric company or to solicite paid sponsorship.
I got one7 months ago and have 2289 miles on the odometer and have had no problems what so ever. Other than a new rear tire and one flat; It's been the best investment I've made in 30 years. I'd reccomend it to anyone thinking of buying a bike. Thank you Lectric for your life changing invention.♥️😎 Ps. Looking forward to getting a 2.0 with the baskets.😎 Miami beach FL.
@@nvalles2565 Ok ; In peddle assist 4 and 6th speed, you can go about 25 miles before you get to 4 bars of power left. Then you need about 3. 5 hours of charging to get to 54.3 volts of power again. Hope that answer's your question.
Also, 7 miles from work. With 3rd level pedal assist, it takes me from work, out to lunch 4 mile round trip, and back home with power left over. Have not tried throttle only but that should work for 15-18 miles.
I actually think this is one of the best "affordable" e-bikes. It is not easy to find a more affordable e-bike with the same or more features as the Lectric. I do agree, the bike requieres considerable fine tuning out of the box, but if you are familiar with bicycles, it is easy and enjoyable. I adjusted the derailleur, adjusted the brakes, lubed it up and boom, no squeaking, brake rubbing, very smooth shifting, etc. If you are not a DIY kind of person, this one might not be for you, but all bicycles require tuneups and checkups. I've rode mine for more than 1,000 miles now, no problems. It seems like a lot of the negatives in the review come if you're used to ridding e-bikes that are considerably more expensive and without having tuned the bike. Still, thanks for the review, very enjoyable Cheers!
Do you know what real world-ish range the bike gets? That was the only thing missing from the review although if it only got 30 mile range that is way longer than most will ever plan to commute by bike per day anyway.
I have already ordered one and am waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for the advise on setup. I am a 71 year old man who still want to pedal my bike, but needing some help on distance and on hills. I am also a full time RVer along with my wife, and wanted something that I could fold up either to put in the back of the pickup under the 5th wheel, or in the back seat. My luggage rack is already full. Thanks again for all the info on both the up and down sides of this bike. By the way, I did get the two baskets and will easily be able to use them when going fishing. Did I say how much I love to fish? :)
Excellent review, and more in-depth than I expected. It's hard to beat the value of $999 for a very competent e-bike. I would have considered one since I was in the market for a folding e-bike, but the three specific reasons were 500 watts on a bike I planned to ride in hilly areas, the latching mechanism, and the key dangling. The motor I could have probably lived with, and the key is just an annoyance, but I have watched XP's come unlatched while riding in group rides, with one guy almost hitting a light pole.
We purchased both the xp 2.0 and the step thru... Your review was spot on... My girlfriend and I are 58 and it's all we need and are very happy with our purchase. She has rode hers 138 miles while I have over 50 miles... We did have to clean the disc brakes and re adjust but that is about it. We do ride on flat roads here in Florida and are not hard on our bikes. We purchased these right around Thanksgiving and I saw your review and others before I purchased. Thanks.
I get mine delivered tomorrow and I’m very excited! I’m a solo, 60 y/o female camper and this is going to be perfect for me. I’m not taking out on rough trail rides or beating it up in any way so I think it’ll be perfect. Because it folds, I’ll be able to stick it in my truck and I’ll just use a bungee cord to keep it folded.
Excellent review! I ordered the same one about a week or so ago. Great advice, honest review. You weren't really bashing on the bikes with your Cons. It's just what I needed to hear and will be taking my e-bike to a nearby bike shop for a good tune-up. It'll be worth the money to be sure the bike is in perfect riding condition. I think I will also be getting the water-resistant saddle bags they offer, I'm not really into having a basket on a bike.
I had one of these and it wasn't bad but I ended up getting the Wing Freedom X which is a lot less weight, a more natural riding position and frankly just looks a lot cooler. It is in stock which is nice but still took 8 days to receive.
To clarify about the top speed, for class 3 mode it actually can hit 28 mph but only with pedal assistance. All class 3 bikes are technically limited to 20mph throttle only, but some go a little faster like this one.
@@pragedisarreguin1196 if you have pedal assist at 5 and your pedaling decently hard yes it will reach that speed but it’s mostly going to stay around 25 mph with pedal assist 5
Honest review and fairly accurate. Got one for my wife and myself. Great bike! Lectric is a bargain for the price, especially with free shipping. Bought a new Schwinn Sports Tourer in 1974 and I still ride it. It cost $199. In today's money, that's $1060!
This is my first EBike, and so far I love it. I use PAS 0 as much as I can to get the maximum workout.. I did 21 miles my first time out ha ha super fun!!!
Thanks for doing this video, I decided to buy a Lectric bike based on it. So far I'm loving it, it has given me confidence to ride a bike again. Thanks again
JUST ordered my first...spent a Loooooooong time deciding and came across your vid this morning..which sealed the deal..Thanks 4 the content n ill update when I take the first ride!! GO ME!! YAY!!
As a Lectric XP 2.0 owner (first ebike I ever owned), I felt this was a very fair review. I agree with all the cons that you mentioned especially about the battery life. I think Lectric downgraded the battery from version 1.0 to save on costs so they add additional features like the suspension fork and make it IP-65 water resistant. Wish I had the extra battery life though! But yeah, I agree this is a great ebike for first time buyers 👍
My husband and I purchased these bikes on June 3rd. My husbands just arrived on August 15th mine is set to arrive Friday the 20th. Customer service at Lectric is something less than desirable. There communication is at the lowest I have seen and that includes their written communication. I kind of wish I ordered the RAD bikes now. Especially after your review. I’m hoping I’m not super frustrated by the time we actually get to ride them. Oh and what company offers expedited shipping for 150 bucks on bikes that are on back order for all? Why would you not ship to customers in order of purchase. Someone always trying to make a buck!! That just summed the company up for me!! I’m hoping I didn’t just waste a few grand on bikes and assessories!! Thanks for letting me vent. Happy riding!! 🚲☮️❤️
Nice review man, you seem to be a very honest guy and called out the bike on its ups and downs. And yes, I've been wanting an ebike for quite some time, but the price is what kept me from getting one. But as soon as I learned of this bikes I started doing my research, and thanks to your video I'm leaning more into buying one. Thank you and keep up the great work!
We just bought a used XP 2.0 step through, so we're hoping to not have any issues. But I did notice the brakes are a bit squeaky. I'll probably take it in for a tune up at some point.
I just ordered this bike and hope that it performs well. I currently have two Pedego cruisers, but they are heavy and a little more difficult to transport, so I am looking forward to this bike being more portable and more nimble than my Pedego's. Thanks for such an in depth review of the bike, it was really helpful in confirming my purchase.
I just purchased my Lectric XP 2.0 step through, but haven’t received it yet. I’ve been wanting to get a bike for a while now, and the e-bike fascinated me from the beginning. I’m planning to just use it in my home area and maybe on some easy trails. I’m basically a beginner cyclist at age 49. I know how to ride a bike, but I’m coming back to it. I’ll let you know how I feel after my first few times out.
Thanks for the great information and excellent video. I currently have a full size 26 inch mens bike converted to an ebike. The problem is getting my 67 year old legs over the top bar when having to stop. So I bought one of these . Problem solved! Great bike for a great price!
I have a first gen step thru (white). I think that LETRIC missed a golden opportunity to make the riding experience even better by including an 11-28/34 freewheel. It's a cheap upgrade that would've made a world of a difference.
Great review! I plan on getting the Lectric XP 2.0 mainly for biking through the city and paved, level pathways. I love that it folds and that it can fit into a car so no need for a bike rack!
Yes, Bike racks & a Hitch can be very expensive. I plan on getting a "Commander 64 Gallon Tote, to load & Carry my Lectric E-Bike in My Ford Edge SUV. Hopefully it will travel well to Florida this Winter.
I just took my first ride today. Never rode an ebike and no manual came with it but a few videos watched and I managed. Get the comfort seat! A bit jerky I agree but a lot of fun and pretty smooth ride so long as you stay under 15mph. Not bad for a bike right out of the box. Thx for the tips!
2 years later and I'm choosing this bike because I'm getting it used for $600. Guy said he got new tires last year and I believe a new cassette. Seems like a good used deal due to his maintenance. This bike still has features that some new bikes are skipping.
You are a great commentator, to the point, clear and concise and thorough , yet pleasant, good job! About the bike, I might need a little more out of an e bike than this model, if they have an upper model I would like to see it . Thank you
I happened on this vid through a random Google home, which must have picked up that I'm interested in ebikes(Google is a creepy sleuth sometimes). I didn't like the bike (there were several features that would be an issue for me) but I really enjoyed your professional and critical summary. Your honest assessment covered both the positives and negatives, leaving me feeling like you are on the consumers' side rather than a fluff 'sponsored' bit. Thank you! (Probably TMI, but I have MS and terrible balance issues now. But before I was diagnosed and stopped to raise children I was an avid cycler. I would love to get back to as much of that as I can. I even got a pair of wheels - sort of 'training wheels for grownups'. This bike too heavy for 130lb, handicapped me to pick up on a regular basis, but I'll check out your channel and see if anything else sings to me. I wish you great health and hope you have a wonderful day/week/year!
Check out Liberty E Trike! I just bought one and Love it. I am 67 female. I’m getting hubby this ebike though. Liberty delivers in a few days and for free. Great customer service like Lectric.
Something funny , ordered that bike back in may they charge me 2000 but it never got it ,finally I canceled it in July after they sent me an email to tell me to wait another month, maybe that’s happened to many people.
Moving to the Long Beach peninsula of SW Washington state. House is 15 mins from beach on flat even roads. Want to cruise the hood with a ride that’s @$1000, no more. The XP 2.0 seems to be the answer because of all the features it packs for the price & good reviews!
We just bought two of these XP 2.0 ebikes. We aren't sure when they will arrive, so testing will have to wait for a while... and for the snow to melt! My husband like to ride bikes but I'm not all that interesting in getting sweaty on a bike. These should let him have some fun when he goes riding and I hope to be able to ride along without all of the work. Should be fun for both of us.
I actually just ordered the XP 2.0 step thru. It's reasonably priced and seems reasonably capable for my purposes, anyhow... off road capability, short distance local, and it should be easy to take with in my van for travel purposes. I actually have issues with riding a regular bicycle since 2017, in particular that pedaling causes me to swerve side to side. I can ride something motorized without issue. My hope is that the class 2 capabilities will allow me to practice at eliminating that swerve issue, while I can travel when necessary without the worry due to the full throttle mode. They also have a really good Black Friday sale offer going on right now, which gives me a discount and some nice extras for free. I think it should work out for me reasonably well. I had watched a few reviews before ordering, now I'm looking at some more to get more of an idea what I can expect.
The stock seats really are pretty decent. Top Upgrades. 1. Rear view mirror for traffic 2. Bell for pedestrians on bike path 3. Slime in the tires. 4 . Aftermarket headlight, I use 2 as I ride at night most the time. 5. A bag for rear rack. 6. Suspension seat post. 7. free wheel upgrade (helps the pedal to speed ratio at higher speeds)
@@JordanLewisFamily 3. the tire will go flat with a thorn just like any other bike tire, Slime helps to seal the tires in case of a puncture. 7. Is upgrading the rear gear, to a smaller gear, It makes it easier to pedal at 23-28mph. Whit the stock gearing you have to pedal too fast at higher speeds.
Great video, nice editing, and production. Just hook a small bungee cord on the wheels before you pick it up. I think the bike has a lot of bang for the buck, especially for us folks over fifty. thanks for sharing.
No...telling the truth. the XP is a breakthrough in price, capacity, and performance. No other ebike in this price range closes close. If you don't hink so...post a decent competitor. We are waiting.
Thanks forsharing. I'm 71 years old and looking to purchase my first E bike. I don't want to break the bank, not knowing if I'll ride it daily. Sure you understand. Thanks again.
I just got mine and had all the same issues. For me I never fold it except when I have to store it overnight outside my patio and long distance train rides which its perfect for! You know how there's no such thing as an "Unstealable" bike...well when I fold it and then lock it, it loses shape and becomes the least attractive to steal. lol. I own it and I don't even wanna unfold it.
Getting mine Tomorrow! Thanks for the review CNET. I paid $950 to upgrade my 1.0 order to 2.0. Took exactly 2 months to arrive but gave me extra time and money to order boss accessories.
My XP 1.0 isn’t a premiere ebike like some that come in at over $2k. However for $899 out of the box, I couldn’t ask for a better all around ebike. It’s nicely equipped, been super reliable, plenty fast enough, and has been loads of trouble free fun for over a year. I’m seeing some issues with the 2.0 popping up such as error codes, bent cranks, etc. However Lectric is quick to deal with them, and their customer service still shines. No buyers remorse here.
That's awesome to hear. That's one of my worries is being able to find a shop that will work on it if there's problems. Are there any cable connectors on the bike so you don't have to pull a whole cable if you need to replace a part? It also come in handy for taking the back wheel off for fixing a leak
@@KathleenGoggin Yes. There is a quick connector on the frame in front of the rear wheel. And it only plugs in one way. I had to shop around for a day or two for a bike shop that would work on an ebike. I did find one, and the guys really good. He just did a tune up, plus replaced the rear tire and tube (I supplied) for $66 bucks. Trued both wheels, took the brake pads out and cleaned and sanded them, along with adjustment, and adjusted the shifter. Not bad.
We bought two Lectric XPs. If yours arrives and works out of the box count yourself lucky. If it does not you'll spend a few hours underneath a brand new bike following emailed trouble shooting guides. If you fix your brand new bike you're lucky again because it's a high hurdle to get Lectric to get a new, working bike sent to you for the good money you've already paid. Things happen, we all understand that. The true measure of a company is how well it puts things on track, and makes a customer happy when things do go wrong. Lectric e-Bikes has a ways to go on this count. Be advised.
Hey guys I've joined the electric XP family I got my 2.0 last week and it is out of this world is awesome it looks beautiful just the word of caution I had a saddlebag on the back of my bike I had my charger in it and extension cord and a tool kit and I went into this store I came back out my bag was gone my charger everything somebody took the because I had it bungee cord on the back of the bike so please protect your self do not leave your keys in your bike to run into a store do not leave your saddle bag or paneer bag whatever you call it on your bag that's not lockable and that you can't lock to the bike cuz people are stealing they stole my bag right off the bike so protect yourself it's good thing I got I call electric XP and told him what happened and I ordered a new charger and my new one will be assumed but protect yourself
We just bought 2 of these. I should of watched this video prior. My wife won't be on rough terrain. We're motorhomers. Will use around the parks and grocery store. Should I rethink this purchase.
Got my Lectric Xp 2.0 yesterday. My sister has a new Rad Mini. First impression: the Rad Mini is way smoother and easier to operate, and I feel very much a worthy UPGRADE. The Lectric motor almost has no ramp up time. Say you are making a u-turn in the middle of the street. If you pedal even slightly, the motor kicks in strong, and could cause you to run into the ditch. Stop pedaling and it takes the motor a full second to stop. People have noted that in their reviews, but it's a killer! Rad Mini does not do that. I'm very disappointed with Lectric. Also, brakes squeal just like my $350 Jetsons. The headlight is horrible, my cheap little Jetson headlight is better. The comfort package is a joke at $99 dollars. The seat is hard and the post shock constantly makes noise and noticeable jerky movement on even slight bumps. I don't understand the raving reviews. 1000 vs 1400 is a brainless upgrade based on the vast difference in quality.
Thanks for posting this. That was the one thing I was afraid of about this bike. (The shifting problems and slowing down. It would definitely make me fall) My daughter also has the Rad mini utility. She wants us also to get one - myself and my husband. But not the big utility one. She takes her kids on the back of hers which is cool.
After putting 80 miles over the past 8 or 9 months, both of our bikes make annoying noises, shift badly, and don't brake fantastic. Braking is noisey and doesn't give a great sense of stability. My seat constantly makes squeaking noises. They sent me a replacement quickly, but it squeaks too. We have fun with these bikes despite all this, but it does annoy my wife and I. Never ride in rain, always stored in garage, 98% pavement riding and mostly flat, so it's not like we are riding these hard. Don't expect good range unless you stick to Pas 1 or 2, and pedal most of the time.
So I just bought mine today. Gonna arrive in 4 weeks due to the fact the black one is delayed till then. My first e-bike. Thank you for the review! Let’s me know what to expect when it arrives
I ordered it and came yesterday. Setting it up is straight forward. I just watched the video on the first ride found on their website. Just a precaution, THE BATTERY AND KEY IS SHIPPED SEPARATELY! I thought it was missing! They didn't say that it will be shipped separately, I was looking for it on the box and on the bike desperately and since it was late, I have no choice but to just email them. They haven't responded to my email so I call them up and was told it was shipped separately. I am still waiting for it. My first impression of the bike is, it is big and heavy. It will not fit on the trunk of my Coupe. lol.
I am thinking of buying one because of the price and it fits in my Prius. I live 25 miles from work. I pay $19/day for parking. I will be able to park 5 miles from work for free and ride in.
Just ordrered the XP, will be my first eBike. Normally ride a 20 speed but need some help towing my 40 lb dog & carrier. Was considering the RadRunner but all the accessories were really starting to add up.
I have the first version...great bike. The improvements are in response to their customers feedback. For 100. more than the first bike you get front suspension, an improved front light, wider handlebars, increased water resistance and more.
I have a 1st gen step thru. I like the bike a lot. I appreciate the upgrades that LETRIC made for 2.0, but IMHO the only changes that they needed were the new display that's water proof, the new rear rack, and an 11-28/34 freewheel. The wider handle bars, the front suspension were not necessary if LECTRIC would've just stayed with the 20x4 tires (which are awesome!)
My Black Lectric XP 2.0 Step-Thru E-Bike was Ordered on 09/01/2021, as of 09/10/2021 still waiting for Shipping update, ordered a Helmet, considering a Left-Hand rear view mirror, a Comfortable Seat & Seat Post, Flashing rear Safety Light, a decent Carry Tool kit, a Black Plastic Milk Crate for rear bike rack, with Strong Zip-Ties, let me know what you think of my Extra shopping list.
Thanks saved me...I think this BUILD of E-Bike is sold by many different companies I been searching for parts for my Pride Electric 500W E Bike looks just like this one and has same issues you reported with this Lectric Model....so on the fence...lol
Thank you for the video. I just bought online the 2.0 Step Through with the basket package and mirrors. Did you try out the bike lock that you can buy? Why did I buy: This willill be my 2nd ebike. Last year I bought the Walmart E-ride City and just loved the bike for the price I paid. I am 5'2" tall, and like my whole life riding a bike for a taller person...This bike advertised for a height of 4'10". Wow, I will be riding a bike that fits to a short person. Another reason I bought, bike comes fully assembled, at least to a point . More power than my Walmart at only 250Watts. We have some serious long hills here at the Grand Coulee area. My favorite grocery store is located below the 550 foot tall dam, and the Walmart bike would get me up the hill back home, but slow. This bike has more power. Headlight comes with the bike. The available LCD screen. Nice functions to now have over last years price of only $787 e-bike at Walmart. With the Letric bikes SALE price right now, I only paid about $500 dollars more, not counting the extras I bought last year like a basket, cup holder, and other items. IT FOLDS! Disc brakes should be nice. We don't get that much rain in a semi-desert area, so I am not worried about the rain. Last summer, working at home for the dam, I saved a lot of money not having to gas up my car maybe twice all last summer. I am excited. Ivan :)
3 things you should consider before buying one: 1) They have a NO RETURN POLICY. You buy it, you're stuck with it. 2) It weighs a ton. Actually, 65 pounds or so, but that greatly reduces its portability and convenience factor. 3) In order to pedal it, you have to put the seat quite high - so much so that unless you hop off the seat and forward, when you come to a stop your feet won't be able to touch the ground, which I found to be quite dangerous.
Great review thank you, i have been researching e bikes for a year now and can't make up my mind on what to get, would you have any recommendations on a different bike give or take a few hundred dollars that may be better, thanks again for the review, i also like the ukulele lol ( i play ukulele too.) 👍🏆.
There are so many reviews of the Lectric that are given by professional youtubers who have been given a loaner. I would love to see bike people who actually bought the XP and after using it for a few months made a review. This is not taking away from the possibility that this 2.0 is a good bike.
Great video. Very informative. I’m waiting for my xp 2.0 to arrive as I write this. I’m getting it to replace my rad rover 5 which is just too big. I am looking forward to being able to fold it up instead of mounting on a bike rack. I’m hoping my wife will switch with me but to a step through.
@@VINZBROWN dude, mine arrived in 5 days. Sale going on right now: $899 for xp 2.0, $69 for seat and post upgrade. I got both and ordered hydraulic calipers from Amazon for $42. Cable actuated plug and play swap out. Easy. Enjoy!
Super helpful. Bought one recently and rode for ~50 miles. Speedometer and odometer not working, and only show 0. Other than that I am very happy. Not sure how to fix the 0 issues…
Excellent review, I own the 1.0 model, loving it since it's highly customizable, and easily user maintainable if you're familiar with servicing your own bicycle. That suspension fork on the 2.0 is super excellent, I need that.
I got 1.0, addee fron fork and seat post suspension, added 2 extra battery on rear rack, 3 motorcycle lights, since it's also 20x4, it's much better than 2.0
@@Triplebuc50 not sure if i'm mistaken, but i think the frame is the same, just different forks/wheels, and other external changes, slight ones. i know i haven't seen mention on their site of the old model.
I'm interested for health reasons. I'm 53 and have had severe osteoarthritis in knees since 17. I'm holding off on knee replacement as long as possible. My orthopedic said bike riding is good as long as I don't get a lot of resistance. I'm hoping an assist for hills will allow me to enjoy riding again. Plus I need to lose 50 lbs. lol
28 mph is point at which motor turns off. Going downhill or flat 28 is definitely possible! But 12-16mph is much more realistic for long rides. Its not a moped.. its a bike!
Can not reply on bike yet! Ordered in April and still DoNot have them yet. Maybe they need to get better on delivering the bikes that were ordered in April 2021. They get to use my money for over 3 months. Would do more research on delivery
I placed my order on Apr 12, 2021 for the 1.0 version bike. After waiting for more than 14 weeks without receiving my bike, and without any definite answer about the delivery date, I cancelled my order on July 23, 2021. Good luck waiting!
@@alvaroakatico9188 I thought I was receiving my bike, but only received the comfort seat - no bike. I called and found out it was still sitting in their warehouse waiting for FedEx to pick it up. Lectric Bike charged my credit card, I have now received the bill, but I have no intention of paying it until I actually receive my bike. This is taking way too long & I am getting very upset and angry. This delivery glitch has really cooled my ardor for the bike that I have yet to receive.
This is the finest bike for the money. I have one. I had to wait 4 months to get it. I would do it again. I am glad you are smart enough to wear a helmet.
Their website said 7 weeks to deliver. I cancelled my order in July, 2021, after waiting more than 14 weeks (more than 3 months) from Apr 12, 2021. Totally incompetent Three Stooges.
Thanks for the great review. I ordered this bike because of the reviews, my 60 yo body and price. This is my second eBike and look forward to riding along the NH, S.Maine seacoast. I am concerned about who I can take it to for a tune-up, so I may have be my own shop. Thanks again, Pete
I am now planning on buying one of these bikes, saw how nice and user friendly they are along with the off-road capabilities. About the racks, the reason they’re expensive is most likely because they’re heavy duty and also there’s virtually no aftermarket racks that would fit that frame and/or that bike specifically and also sit in the right spot. I saw a video about the Lectric XP and liked it but it had no front shocks, when I went looking I found they had the XP 2.0 that has the front fork. Also you forgot to mention the front suspension lockouts and rebound adjustment on the opposite side
We just bought this bike. Then found this review. Its on its way. Thanks for the guidance. We probably will only ride this around our community so no dirt roads or hills. Hopefully it will work out fine. We have a Lectric store nearby so will take it there for a run thru and some more guidance after we try it out.
Please speculate - lets say you regularly rode this ebike in the Winter - lots of wet, muddy, even snowy conditions - 20 miles round trip to work each day - along an old train bed turned hiking trail. How would it hold up? What would the maintenance look like? Are there other ebikes which might require less maintenance and have greater longevity? I've never had an ebike - what I have had are two serious foot surgeries. I'd like to find something I could ride to work - not every single day - but most days. The trail is flat but each section is very different, some with thick cut gravel, others rutted and muddy - others higher and flat. Just thinking out loud here ...
Just my guess. With foot surgeries, I'd say it would be hard to pedal enough on that type surface to handle 20 miles round trip.....but I don't even have an ebike. I guess if you could charge the bike at work, you'd be good to go though.
I have the original .1.0 and it has been very dependable and no issues. But the computer got very wet on the car rack and I took it apart and let it dry out for a couple of weeks. It now works. I believe the new computer is more waterproof. I did put a new seat and post on but a better post that is from Sun. I like the new 2.0 because of the racks, front shock and larger seat all can be ordered with the bike. The smaller tires should be nicer and make less noise. I don't ride dirt trails but like the wide tires for gravel areas and if you hit some sand shoulders.
Wanting to buy this for my father who is 65. He has been wanting one but wasn't sure if this was a good fit for someone who is a lot older and less in shape.
For me, it's the price point. I am amazed that this bike is advertised for $949.00 at the time of this comment. A decent e-bike at that very modest price point seems like a winning combination to me. Picking up a spare battery and a second charger as well as some saddle bags or basket for just over $1200.00 or so is a massive win in my book. I am seriously considering making this my first e-bike purchase.
I just received mine yesterday. My first e-bike. I was shocked at how powerful and fast it goes. It is a bit too fast and jerky for slow around the neighborhood riding but on my first 5 mile trip it's awesome.
@@KCisScreaming Around here there are very small inclines and declines. I tend not to shift but go from Assist 0 to 1 or 2. 2 seems a bit fast except when going up a hill. I suppose I could keep it in assist 1 but I do want the exercise of assist 0. Also I am surprised how easy it is to pedal on the flats in assist 0. I ride it every day (5 days so far) its awesome. I took my regular bike out yesterday it was a workout. 68 years old with anemia so I need the assist until I can get my endurance back.
I'm currently working on getting back in shape and have made it my mission to save up 1k for this bike. I figure i can pedal 70% of the time and when i get to hills use the pedal assist if I can't handle them. It'll be so much easier on my knees and will give me the cardio i need, as lifting weights isn't a problem for me. Looks like a good pick for 1k!
Wow, thanks for the thorough and honest demo/review of the Lectric XP. I’m currently trying to choose between this folding ebike and the non folding Ariel Rider Kepler V2.
Thanks for the evaluation on the bike. My wife and I, mid 60's, were wondering if this was a good choice as our first E-Bikes. We camp and intend on using them at the campgrounds. We may use at home a little bit, but mostly camping. Thanks for your video, I think these will be a good choice
I do really like this e bike but I see a lot of costumers always complaint for the display seems to be the only inconvenience even if the company replace that, I believe Lectic need to update the display in order to avoid more complaints down the road, Still a wonderful e bike for a decent price.
Thanks for a great review, Logan. I like that you didn't just give it a 100% for everything but were honest about its shortcomings. I am highly considering this bike for me and my wife and this would be our first e-bikes. I am also considering the Heybike Mars which is very similar. My reasons for these two are the price, good reviews (product and customer service after the sale), features and style.
@@jasonjackson1419 I just purchased the new Lectric XP 3.0 but won't receive it until just after the first of the year. It took me a while to decide and pull the trigger.
Update: I have installed the new display that Lectric sent me, which was pretty simple to do with the right set of hex keys, and went on a 10-mile ride. No error message! I will continue to ride it at least a few more times and will post another update if that changes.
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the review bro i just got this bike

Looking forward to getting a 2.0 with the baskets.😎

How far can you go on one charge? My work is about 7.5 mi away.
Good comment. All bikes need minor adjustments and a little care from time to time...
I would be new to ebikes. How would I do it my self?
I just ordered one. How long did it take to show up?
I want to be you when I grow up. lol
YOU GO GUY KEEP RIDING WITH EASY POWER
Two weeks in, how's she treating you?
Excellent review! I ordered the same one about a week or so ago. Great advice, honest review. You weren't really bashing on the bikes with your Cons. It's just what I needed to hear and will be taking my e-bike to a nearby bike shop for a good tune-up. It'll be worth the money to be sure the bike is in perfect riding condition. I think I will also be getting the water-resistant saddle bags they offer, I'm not really into having a basket on a bike.
Caution:: Some or Most Regular Bike Shops might refuse to do any work on E-Bike, possibly due to possible Litigation or Legal Concerns.
I like it with a basket 🧺 yes for me 🐕😊👍🏻
I had one of these and it wasn't bad but I ended up getting the Wing Freedom X which is a lot less weight, a more natural riding position and frankly just looks a lot cooler. It is in stock which is nice but still took 8 days to receive.
To clarify about the top speed, for class 3 mode it actually can hit 28 mph but only with pedal assistance. All class 3 bikes are technically limited to 20mph throttle only, but some go a little faster like this one.
but even in 7th gear your peddling will do nothing just keep the motor activated
oh kool it does hit the 28 if you peddle right?
@@paulmasonmiller which ebike would you recommend
On a steep down hill it could hit 100Mph. lol
When using PAS 0, is the Lectric bike hard to pedal weight wise, 63 lbs. + Battery weight.??
They have an extra battery now, so this comment came true!
Would you rec?
How's the bike doing now?
I just ordered this bike and hope that it performs well. I currently have two Pedego cruisers, but they are heavy and a little more difficult to transport, so I am looking forward to this bike being more portable and more nimble than my Pedego's. Thanks for such an in depth review of the bike, it was really helpful in confirming my purchase.

I am a 73 yr. old man, and I just ordered a XP 2.0 Lectric bike today. 10/29/2021. So now I wait and see how long it takes to arrive.
Just got done putting 2 of them together for the wife and I, these are our first ebikes, and thanks for a great review
I ordered one, because it’s the best bang for the buck! Based on numerous reviews and UA-cam videos. It’s a 2.0 still waiting.
Did your bike come in?
Great review! I plan on getting the Lectric XP 2.0 mainly for biking through the city and paved, level pathways. I love that it folds and that it can fit into a car so no need for a bike rack!
Yes, Bike racks & a Hitch can be very expensive. I plan on getting a "Commander 64 Gallon Tote, to load & Carry my Lectric E-Bike in My Ford Edge SUV. Hopefully it will travel well to Florida this Winter.
This has to be my first ever bike review video and I just have to say this was amazingly thorough in a way I didn’t expect lol. Thanks so much!
Im buying the XP for my son, who has 6 mile round trip to college everyday. Fingers crossed…
2 years later and I'm choosing this bike because I'm getting it used for $600. Guy said he got new tires last year and I believe a new cassette. Seems like a good used deal due to his maintenance. This bike still has features that some new bikes are skipping.
I'll probably never own an electric bike but I just enjoy his reviews so I watch them all lol
Me too! He ✅ all the 🎁🎁🎁.
My 2.0 arrived yesterday so I’m watching this video again. Wish me luck.
I just bought one and

7. free wheel upgrade (helps the pedal to speed ratio at higher speeds)
can you elaborate on point 3 and 7 ? I'm heavily considering the XP 2.0.
Great unbiased review, a lot of other XP "reviews" have this agenda of minimizing its shortcomings and only concentrate on its price.

Be advised.

Looked at several Lectric reviews You did a great job. Wife and I are looking to buy when we get to AZ in Oct.
Is there an odometer on this bike that tells you how many miles the bike has on it in total?
Great non biased video, I appreciate your honesty and candor.
It will not fit on the trunk of my Coupe. lol.
How is it so far?
I am thinking of buying one because of the price and it fits in my Prius. I live 25 miles from work. I pay $19/day for parking. I will be able to park 5 miles from work for free and ride in.
Just ordrered the XP, will be my first eBike. Normally ride a 20 speed but need some help towing my 40 lb dog & carrier. Was considering the RadRunner but all the accessories were really starting to add up.
Hi I am interested to hear how you think this stands up against the xp 1.0
Also compared against the Aventon Since
Wanted it for an 18 mile per day commute. Thanks for the honest review. I’m now questioning it.
Your ebike reviews are very helpful & informative. Thanks for uploading!

Ivan :)
Use a large plastic tote to put the bike in, before putting it in your car. I keeps it folded and from falling over or shifting around in your trunk.

There are so many reviews of the Lectric that are given by professional youtubers who have been given a loaner. I would love to see bike people who actually bought the XP and after using it for a few months made a review. This is not taking away from the possibility that this 2.0 is a good bike.
I agree. A company wanted me to review their great custom grille cover as soon as I received it. I said give me at least a year.
I found several. Try using search. It's not hard
Awesome.
WELP. Guess I'll have to follow your lead.
I hope shipping doesn't take very long.
@@VINZBROWN dude, mine arrived in 5 days. Sale going on right now: $899 for xp 2.0, $69 for seat and post upgrade. I got both and ordered hydraulic calipers from Amazon for $42. Cable actuated plug and play swap out. Easy. Enjoy!
I love my 2.0. I ride mainly for enjoyment, didn't want to spend a bundle, but wanted a good bike that performed well on city surfaces.
Super helpful. Bought one recently and rode for ~50 miles. Speedometer and odometer not working, and only show 0. Other than that I am very happy. Not sure how to fix the 0 issues…
One-year warranty call the company
Excellent review, I own the 1.0 model, loving it since it's highly customizable, and easily user maintainable if you're familiar with servicing your own bicycle. That suspension fork on the 2.0 is super excellent, I need that.
I got 1.0, addee fron fork and seat post suspension, added 2 extra battery on rear rack, 3 motorcycle lights, since it's also 20x4, it's much better than 2.0
@@rahi7339 what kind of batteries did you buy?
@@jrambo7495 I brought a cheap battery from an ebay it's called cao mm, and another tesla big 25a battery built by a professional
Will Lectric to eliminate the 1.0 bike or continue to offer it as a Possible Discounted model?
@@Triplebuc50 not sure if i'm mistaken, but i think the frame is the same, just different forks/wheels, and other external changes, slight ones.
i know i haven't seen mention on their site of the old model.
I'm interested for health reasons. I'm 53 and have had severe osteoarthritis in knees since 17. I'm holding off on knee replacement as long as possible. My orthopedic said bike riding is good as long as I don't get a lot of resistance. I'm hoping an assist for hills will allow me to enjoy riding again. Plus I need to lose 50 lbs. lol
It will not go 28mph on the motor only, that is in pedal assist level 5 with pedaling!
28 mph is point at which motor turns off. Going downhill or flat 28 is definitely possible! But 12-16mph is much more realistic for long rides. Its not a moped.. its a bike!
I'm buying 2. Lots of good reviews. American based company and seems perfect for what my wife and I will use them for.
Yep we ordered two bikes and two comfort packages 8 weeks ago and just got one comfort package so far… very disappointing!!
I should be receiving my ebike on Saturday. I'm very excited to get it!
Well? Did you get it? If so, how does it ride? Was it difficult to assemble? Do tell us!
Logan your review was honest. What folding bike would you say would be a better value for quality and performance? Thanks!
This is the finest bike for the money. I have one. I had to wait 4 months to get it. I would do it again. I am glad you are smart enough to wear a helmet.
4 months ?? Crazy
@@joebalderas2672 I agree. The cussing I did under my breath would fill an aircraft hanger. But I can say it was worth it. This is a great bike.😂👍🕶️
Their website said 7 weeks to deliver. I cancelled my order in July, 2021, after waiting more than 14 weeks (more than 3 months) from Apr 12, 2021. Totally incompetent Three Stooges.
thanks to a commenter i'm thinking more on the Ariel Rider RIDEAL for $999
Thanks for the great review. I ordered this bike because of the reviews, my 60 yo body and price. This is my second eBike and look forward to
riding along the NH, S.Maine seacoast.
To reach 28kmh you have first unlock it in P08 setting as per manual then go to pas5 in gear 7 and pedal as fast as you can. Lol
Which I've done.
With foot surgeries, I'd say it would be hard to pedal enough on that type surface to handle 20 miles
round trip.....but I don't even have an ebike.
I don't ride dirt trails but like the wide tires for gravel areas and if you hit some sand shoulders.
i have ordered 2 bikes. Should be here by end of week. My husband and i are very excited! Thanks for your video.
Picking up a spare
battery and a second charger as well as some saddle bags or basket for just over $1200.00 or so is a massive
win in my book. I am seriously considering making this my first e-bike purchase.
Spot on review! Have had my Lectric XP 2.0 for a few days now, and all is consistent with what you're saying, good and bad. Thanks!
Update?
I have 500 + miles on mine. This bike was engineered right. I have changed it some. This just works. 😎
I just received mine yesterday. My first e-bike. I was shocked at how powerful and fast it goes. It is a bit too fast and jerky for slow around the neighborhood riding but on my first 5 mile trip it's awesome.
Could also just be a matter of getting used to it. Are you using the accelerator or the peddle assist?
Very helpful....if I where to expand my budget to say 1200 to 1500 and I weigh 225 pounds with a back injury which ebike would you suggest?
Awesome review we just ordered ours 2 days ago. I so glad to run across this video.....👍👍👍👍
What did you choose?
@@jasonjackson1419 I just purchased the new Lectric XP 3.0 but won't receive it until just after the first of the year. It took me a while to decide and pull the trigger.
