Ya know I went into this game with close to no expectations since I have no history with the Girls Frontline series but I will say my interest is definitely peaked 🧐 I need to figure out what’s going on with the lore because the game itself is sooo cool looking to where I want to have a better idea of what’s going on so badly! LOL
After seeing so many trailers (mostly showing off Groza's dress) I decided to check it out. As a huge Nikke enjoyer, I don't think it holds a candle to Nikke, however, it is a very solid game in its own right. I like the combat, and it's a bit more grounded with its overall tone, which fits it. It's not a super out of pocket game like Nikke. This story does carry over from the previous GF games, I also need to do some research on the lore.
Hmm... Well, maybe I'm not the best for sharing GFL Lore, but I can help a little if anyone want to know. At least I know several things, like Butterfly Incident, the reason why Sangvis hate human (and G&K of course), and maybe about OGAS & Lunasia (Since yeah, It seems important in the 2nd game as well).
@@Elden_Leanas someone that loves both nikke and played gfl1(by the way the creators of nikke give credit to girls frontline for the idea of them making nikke) I’d say nikke and gfl are about the same level in quality, but story wise I feel girls frontline is better and I don’t say this lightly. However 2 correctly it’s still in its initial story phase mica’s games always start kinda easy than hit u with a ton of bricks of depression and kino.
38:24 man, these gachas really got a thing for shooting the first girl Vidia/commander meets, huh? 😂 Ok ok, but seriously though. I got GFL2 when the global server came out since this kind of X-COM gameplay is the stuff I can get behind, and I am LOVING IT. You really feel like a commander overseeing a battlefield telling your troops where to move and what to do. It feels SO GOOD when you complete the battle without anyone dying and taking as little damage as possible. The VActing is so good, and the CINEMATICS AND ILLUSTRATIONS (which I call free wallpapers hehe) ARE AWESOME. There's a huge lore gap that I really need to get into (I haven't found the time to watch any videos on it yet 😓) and the story goes a little slow, which is something I've noticed from a few China gachas. Which I don't mind that much, since it gives me time to figure things out. Though one gripe I have is how slow the text moves, hopefully they give an option to choose text speed in the future. Also if you don't want those spare copies of Mosin-Nagant you could always give them to me hehehe Because Mosin-Nagant is MY GIRL (Ullrid is a very close second though). My favourite sniper rifle irl, my favourite sniper in game, I am speedrunning her affinity just like I did with Enterprise in Azur Lane (I'm not a degen I swear 🙃) because once that covenant is official we going to town like it's Sniper Elite V2. I'm yapping too much I'm sorry ._.
Lol i've been saving some of the illustrations too. Iike the one with Nemesis watching Groza and Suomi driving off and then Maylings bubble tank turns on.
Hahaha, glad you like this game. Anyway, a little correction; The Player character is not a Commander anymore. He/She is just a Bounty Hunter now, but I guess everyone still call him/her Commander, since they still respect him/her from GFL 1 era (At that time, he/she is a new Commander for a PMC named Griffin & Kryuger).
Nice to see you enjoy Girls Frontline 2, Vidia. And I hope you will continue playing this game; The story development, especially with chapter 5 and above, are good. So yeah, good luck in your GFL 2 Journey, Vidia.
Vidia playing GFL2? rad. I love the soundscape the game makes with its story chapters. All the various sounds they add make the stories very enjoyable to listen to. Like hearing the commander get out of his chair, pour some coffee, take a sip, and saunter back to his comfy chair to give Mayling more overtime.

Let's go, i've been waiting for this. (maybe? i've kind of lost track now.) Also, Kurumi mention, woo. As someone who's plays GFL1 and 2, It's always nice to see someone new starting GFL2, and hopefully enjoying it despite the devs throwing players into the sea (and not the kid's pool) with the use of terms and such that can be very confusing (apparently even for returning players). They crazy cooked for this game with the intro, the cutscenes, the artwork, the voices, the -feet- models. And i think they really nailed having a protaganist that's an experienced veteran, not hard given the commander is one and holy hell, that's putting it lightly. I get the rookie/amnesia thing (or both with Nikke) but there's something with having the main character not be a fish out of water. Plus any bias i have coz i like the commander in GFL1 (even with the hit or miss stories). My only issues with the game is the lack of my favourite dolls (top wants being Lee-enfield, Kar98k and Bren) and the lack of zombies (with freaking machineguns). A more minor one that i hope is being worked on is the lack of being able to swtich between male and female commander, i love the voices for both, and it was a feature in GFL1 (along with outfit customization, when the game pulls a "no u" and puts the commander in a swimsuit instead).
