This is a really complicated way. People who use the metric system don't use fractions to convert. We just move the decimal point. Take 52mg and move the decimal point 3 places and you get 0.052g.
For students needing to learn how to convert in general and especially to get points on an exam through showing work, they need to understand it conceptually and not rely on memorization.
But people learn differently, the decimal was confusing to me at first, and then you shared and bingo... Wow! Thank you too!!! But I must say I still like the way she showed us folks that need to learn another outside the box sort of way!
Over complicating a simple conversion. m=1/1000, therefor divide 52 by 1000 = 0.052. Or cheat and move decimal place 3 positions. Its ridiculously easy to convert in the metric system, dont need paper or pen or calculator.

Why mix milligram with gram? I hate that. What if your lokal drug dealer was telling you its 70 bucks för 1000mg of coke, you will get 3 grams for 240 bucks. Me at the sam time be lik eokay habving six16ten drinks inside of my bodty, that sounds great ill tka eit.
This is why we use the metric system, America. 50 milligrams is .05 g... you literally just move the decimal over 3 spots. Non of this bs is needed in g/mg conversion lol
