You have to love Moto Guzzi for sticking with shaft drive, when practically all other manufacturers can only offer chains, chains and more miserable chains. Forza Guzzi!

A quality motorcycle. You can’t beat a Guzzi for character, maintenance and just about everything else.

      Oh Contrare!
Both my M-G Norges let me down mechanically. Each required trips to the Dealer 155 miles away. God help if you lose the five digit code.

Don’t know a that. My triumph scrambler 1200 is reliable, good looking, all the tech you want at tells you everything, beautiful TFT display 200mm suspension travel and fully adjustable, sounds great, quality parts, good mileage, lots of character, and the service requirement is at 10,000, but it does have chain drive. Oh, and every part looks good and is polished to look gorgeous.
Non of that plastic stuff to hide anything.

You may be right but I’m still not totally convinced by the modern Triumphs. They certainly don’t have the same levels of character & charm as the Guzzis. Furthermore, I buy a Moto Guzzi knowing it’s been made in Italy. One buys a Triumph and it’s probably been made in Thailand or some other country, well away from Britain.

@@nigelfisher3756 : I’m 100% Italian, born there. I understand what you’re say, but I love my triumph scrambler.
I don’t care for the Guzzi vibration and side shake. Plus I like the looks of the scrambler more than the Stelvio and mondello.

Fair enough Gino, you make a strong point for the Triumph bike(s). I prefer Italian style (like beautiful Italian ladies and Alfa Romeo’s!). Let’s call them equal!?

Thanks for another great review. I’ve always been a GS/GSA fan but this could be a viable alternative. I don’t need massive power but want low down and mid range grunt which this seems to have. And it’s a real V twin rather than a parallel twin contrived to sound like one. One tester suggested it was quite top heavy. I’m only slightly taller than you and then likes of the T7, Ducati Desert-X and Multistradas certainly felt that way. I’m guessing no bother? The front end looks not unlike like a Tuareg 660.

Thanks again, Mark, for another great review. I had hoped it would be a really good ride, but I'm also hoping they have done better with general reliability. It's one thing to take a V7 around town or out for an overnight. But the Stelvio LOOKS like it just begs for those long, multi-day rides, and that's when you need something you can absolutely count on. Will be watching how it does because I want one! 😁

Thanks for the review, I'm a big Moto Guzzi fan but still not too sure about the new water cooled ones or the styling, however from your review they do seem to be very smooth. I'm sure the styling will grow on me it's just I prefer the more classic look. Got to be better than paying another £10000 on top for a BMW GS that are as common as muck. Have you done a review of the V85tt ? it would be nice to see how it compares to the new Stelvio. For me I think I would still opt for the V85tt as I just feel 80bhp is enough, it's air cooled and it's far cheaper.

I didn’t want to give you a Like but I did. You did not point out what is missing on the bike and criticize the Stelvio for lacking certain items for sure. Dynamic suspension for one, a center stand is an option on their flagship model?? Really. Does it have heated grips?? You made mention of how good it is at 2,000 rpm in the city but not that it lacks top end power for a 1,000 cc bike. Make an example of it like BMW came out in 2005 with the 1200 engine and it makes as much power as the Stelvio almost 20 years later, why is that Guzzi? Why a 1000 cc engine? Why is it not a 900 or a 1200 or 1300 cc engine with 150 hp? How do expect to compete, if you don’t size right?

£15k and you don't get a centrestand as standard?? For that money, I'd expect a quickshifter as standard as well. If Suzuki can do so on their new medium range 800cc bikes, then MotoG can do it on a premium product! Otherwise, there are things to like on it, and things that.....I'm not so sure of! Maybe the engine character is a bit of an acquired taste, though I guess it works well.

      Thanks for your feedback 🙂
I was riding at the speed limit the whole video ....I have to ride sensibly that's how I get dealers to lend me their bikes ... because I have a sensible reputation. ..I have my safety and others to consider
I can't incriminate myself on video

The bike I'd be hoping Guzzi would launch ever since they cancelled the last Stelvio, sadly i think it's just too big and too expensive for me personally now but what a glorious motorcycle and so much more than a GS.

Nice review my friend although i would prefer if you reved it a little more, above 4-5000 rpm to see the real power of the bike. How would you compare it to Africa Twin in matters of engine, handling and comfort?

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  5 місяців тому +1

Hi I much prefer the engine and comfort of the guzzi...I think the honda has the edge on handling though

Hi it's an incredible machine with a high price but worth every penny and the ride quality and engine reflect the price ..... manufacturers put millions into R and D these days so most bikes are excellent
The screen vibrated a tiny bit in the highest position but only nit picking

I have the v100 Mandello. After 8000kms I’m dead-on 20 kms/litre which is 55mpg with a mix of city running and spirited hill and dale riding. The pull from rest is fabulous. Unlike my MV Turismo Veloce 800 I’ve never stalled it. Great torque and fantastic clutch feel.

Very nice and reasonably priced in comparison to its competitors. The watercooled engine looks the business and 115 bhp with 77ftlbs of torque is sufficient, nice review Mark thanks 👍
