I'm still enjoying riding my 2017 CB500X which has been totally dependable from new. This bike has evolved well and I would be interested to try one for comparison with mine. I've ridden bigger bikes as well as more sophisticated bikes, but there is something appealing about the simplicity of this Honda - it's capable without being excessive. A great review done in a scenic location! 👍

Finding a CB in the states right now is near impossible. If a new '22 or '23 pops up, it's either 2,000 miles away or sold by the time you've seen the posting. About the best review a bike can get, in my eyes. Looks like I'll be "forced" to contact the local Honda shop and put in my order for the NX. Happy riding!

Great review. Just bought one of these as a B roads lightweight bike. I'm no off roader but like the bigger proportions affordered by adventure styled bikes. However I am going to say I am shocked at what a great bike this is. I'm used to much bigger, heavier, costlier bikes. What I'm shocked about is how comfortable it is, how tractable it is, how I could tour on it, how good the brakes, suspension and clutch and gearbox is. MPG is amazing as is the tank range. Rides beautifuly. I'm hoping that one day this bike might come with cruise control and quick shifter. Then it would be perfect for me. Oh yes centre stand and proper mudguards too please. Nearly forgot... engine is a cracker.

Nice bike and a good upgrade on the previous model. I'm quite tempted but almost all of my riding is with a pillion.
Can't help feeling the NC750X will get these changes such as the twin front discs and the newer instrument screen, although these higher spec items were available from launch on the related Forza 750 (which I have). Honda really needs a more road oriented Transalp or a higher spec and slightly more powerful NC750. I also ride BMW boxers but like many, would like a decent middleweight alternative to heavy 1000cc+ bikes, and the NC is such a good physical fit.

  • @MH-xd2nd
    @MH-xd2nd 17 днів тому

Thanks Mark for a comprehensive review. The engine is a peach and is a classic case of ignoring spec sheets. The CB was a stand out bike, and Honda has removes the one or two negatives I had (really the LCD dash, which I found hard to read). You can probably negotiate a centre stand in the asking price so it’s still a superb package for well under £7K, backed by Honda build quality. This bike already had a reputation for unfussy reliability. Maybe this size is all the bike most of us in the UK need? There is competition out there - principally the CF moto 450 and the new Himalayan - but I’d pick this every time. So much so that it may be my next bike.

Nice bike, Honda, but selling it without a centerstand is not good enough. If Royal Enfield can sell their bikes with centerstands, surely so can the world's biggest motorcycle manufacturer? So give your bikes a centerstand. Or something better than miserable, high maintenance chaindrive, then we won't need the centerstand. And while you're at it, give your bikes some proper, functioning mudguards too to protect them.

Looks ok, a good upgrade from the previous bike for sure.. However, it’s a shame they didn’t make it a 650 with another 20 horsepower. It could have been a rival for the Kawasaki Versys 650 - or the Tracer 700 then, they could have quite easily restricted it for A2 licence holders, surely!?
Basically what I’m saying is the whole A2 licence category is a bit too underpowered, for us full licence holders!
So I’d never consider one myself, certainly not before I reach 70 years of age anyway… 70bhp would be the minimum for me, I’d be bored with 47bhp after a couple of hours riding!

Its interesting reading comments on this bike...i am picking one up in two weeks in white with the ADV option kitted out inc. boxes in this country for a bargain price since the NX is made here.People want all the bells and whistles on this bike temp gauge and cruise control perhaps if it was a hovercraft as well and could fly too?
I like simplicity and i will take Honda reliability and parts and service any day. I have owned dozens of their products not just motorbikes. Want a reliable water pump or outboard motor or SUV?...buy a Honda..its a bargain for the QUALITY...add what you want afterwards.People are comparing statistics not the bike and the experience of owning and riding the actual motorcycle.
Expecting this price point and quality with spoked rims or adjustable forks is asinine...go ride more folks....i did 35,000km cross country touring on a Honda rally 250 solo in a foreign country and it was awesome and didnt let me down in the middle of nowhere once. No ABS on Rally's here in this country even ...not sure how i made it tbh haha.
If you are looking from a KTM or BMW point of view Honda's are not appealing I get that.
If you are bare bones basic and ride what you got kinda person this thing is a dream bike

In profile it looks good, in front it's square like a box, terrible design and it turned me off.

I'd love to buy Honda instead of similar Chinese bike but when you add accessories it becomes crazy expensive. Like, no central stand in standard? No USB charging port ? Come on...

13m10 ish in.. It's taking it in it's stride (suspension).. Really? my pushbike suspension can take that speed in it's stride, and it has a hard tail rear, and forks with no damping!🤣🤣

That's a ugly little bike..In my country the price is 7.990€ without any equipment..No crash bars , no back wheel fender , no double stand , no power sockets..not buying a honda no more untill they wake up and see where the competition stands..
