It's not really extended warranty because you still have to pay for parts "at cost". And cost is whatever apollo says it is, i suppose.

I just purchased the Apollo Explore and it arrives this week. While this review was extremely helpful, it was the fact that it took the top spot in the scooters for big dogs episode that sealed it for me.
FYI: Apollo’s customer service is as advertised and answered all of my questions. They even advised against getting the handlebar extender as an accessory because they were coming across some issues with the one on their website. Appreciate that level of honesty with the customer.

I've been researching scooters for about 3 weeks. I was going to buy the explore but I just ordered the Apollo Pro because the Explore won't ship until July. I noticed that it was basically a Zero 10x with a better warranty and that also made pushed me towards the Pro. I used the promo code you provided. So, I upgraded to a thumb throttle and ordered a horn with the promo code. Thanks for the review and letting me know that Apollo existed lol.

After doing a lot of research I’ve decided to get the explore. I’m 6 foot 250. I only needed a range of 8 miles so the range is fine. This will allow me to safely drive on the roads in town. But also has the little extra speed for fun ripping around and exploring. I can also go to the grocery store and pick up a back pack full of groceries. All in all it checks all the boxes I could want in a scooter.

Electric Scooter Guide: I watched dozens of electric scooter videos about all makes and models, and believe the Apollo Explore is perfect for me. The trigger throttle and the handle bar tightening are concerning, but neither are enough to sway me away from the Apollo Explore. I'm curious to know the difference between the Apollo and Zero brands, as they are very similar in design. In any event, thanks for the great review and I will be sure to use your affiliate link and coupon codes when purchasing.

This type of warranty is a value add as a commuter. A warranty that addresses the speed at which they will respond and get parts (say a 48 hour promise) to you would be the next step in being a warrant built for commuters. Cost is one thing but in reality down time is my biggest enemy.

I live in nyc and I plan on using the scooter quite a bit. NYC is quite noisy and am looking for a good horn that can alert drivers and pedestrians nearby.

Great video, Chuck. Just got my 1st e-scooter which is a Ninebot Max G30LP. Big fan but I already want another, faster n better range one. Something really safe with really low maintenance that goes 25-30mph and has awesome real world range btw $800-$1,400. Seems like, and correct me if I’m wrong, the two better ones would be the Emove Cruiser and this scooter. To me it looks like the Cruiser is awesome n this scooter really just beats it out by 2-4mph extra speed n bit more giddy up. What would you rather have? Keep in mind the extra $100-$200 for Cruiser is fine with me. I just wish I can try the Cruiser or see what 25mph feels like. Thanks!

Looks like a great scooter. I wish it had longer range for that price. The Emove Cruiser has double the range. How long has Apollo been around? A 24 month warranty is great, if the company is still around 24 months from now.
Although nowhere near this class of scooter, InMotion announced their L9 scooter a few days ago that has a claimed 59 mile range. Looks more like a Ninebot Max challenger than one of these Speedway/Cruiser style clones. Dual suspension. $564 (indiegogo price) $899 regular price. I hope you'll check it out Chuck.
    Great review.

Honestly Emove Cruiser is perfect in almost every aspect but I looked the video and found it is so hard to change the tire.....I don't want to go through that kind of horror again (I used to have M365 and it nearly killed me when I had the flat....) Apollo designed their tires differently and it is much much easier to fix a flat

The Explore has a higher top speed. I think that's where you have to decide if speed or range is more important to you. I just saw a range test for the Emove and it got 62 miles on one charge. The tester himself said that it was grueling to ride that long and rode for almost 5 hours straight. Great range, but for me, I don't think I'll ever use a scooter for that long of a distance.

Doing a 50% power metrics would be pretty interesting. It is more a matter of time at this point. We do so much testing for these reviews it is taking a full two weeks already to get one done. I want to get more data, but we just need more time. Anyway, yes this is based on the Z10, which is based on the Titan T10 model - which many companies carry.

Is the apollo explore coming out with a 2022 pro version? I love the deck, the stem lighting, the performance, and the weight is decent; wants would be rubber suspension (i read it has better dampening) and dual motors (for uphill and upbridge riding at good speed rather than 12mph). The spider missed on details to make it truly portable, like locking stem, folding handlebars to carry it.

Hey Danny - thanks for your comment! We thought Zero was a fantastic foundation, but being a Singaporean brand, the quality standards were made for and controlled by the Asian markets. In Canada and the US, customers expect better QC, support and warranty. With that in mind we worked directly with the factory behind Zero, to incorporate a 147 point checklist into their QC process ensuring only units that passed rigorous testing would be shipped to us. We also incorporated a number of upgrades we saw as absolutely necessary - from big ones like the Dynavolt-powered batteries, to small ones like using plastic coil instead of cloth to protect the external wires. At the end of the day, you will have to choose between an Apollo and a Zero. The question will come down to which company can stand behind their product for longer and why, and the answer to that question will always be us as no other scooter brand offers 24 months of warranty.
