I don’t care what class you play or what level you think you are. You must watch this video. Elegant way of explaining easy to complex topics. Clear and concise examples, to follow up every topic you verbally discussed. Beautiful display of profound knowledge while also staying humble. This is my first video I have watched of yours, and I can say you have truly earned this like and subscribe. Along with the view time throughout your DnD coverages. Fantastic job!
@@nuxe7598 I feel like the difference between a ranger with bow related perks and skills and a fighter(or anyone using a bow) without those perks is pretty huge tho . fighter obviously has other things going for him but being able to use bows doesn't make him a better ranger.
@user-zu5mb1pz2bThe amount of armor pen and ms you can stack on a Ranger vastly outclasses the fighters capabilities. (Fighter main here) no amount of full plate set can keep up with a proper Ranger build. Notice in the vid he said 315 Ms is ideal. Most rangers build even more than that. No plate fighter is catching that even with sprint. From that point on it’s just about hitting your shots and it’s a done deal.
this is like a master thesis on ranger. As a ranger main, and as a viewer of you already I STILL learned a bunch of shit form this video. 10/10 the man and spuddy are GOAT'd DnD content creators
You know the video is an authentic guide when you already know most of the concepts explained, because soapy‘s mentioned most of them in his streams here and there 👏
I completly agree, most of guides I see are people taking advantage of a meta and then it doesn't work like 1 month after. This guide is super useful and will not loose its relatableness in time.
Best class guide i saw so far on youtube. Prepared, in depth and without useless blabber. With visual examples and much more effort put into it. Props and Thanks.
I'm really glad you address when less than optimal skills and perks can help for different playstyles, like Backstep can help you learn kiting. Builds really are meant to be tailored to the player's playstyle, strengths, and weaknesses
As a new player, this is probably the best guide I've seen over the past 2 weeks. Love how you break it down and simplify things too. Also got me interested in ranger!
OH MY GOD THANK YOU! Going over the perks one by one and *explaining* why they're not useful is so much better than "Take this one or this one, anyway-" and moving onto the next point. Some will call it redundant or patronizing, but I'm here for it.
I'm still new to the game and trying out ranger, and it is a very challenging class when playing solo. Just watching this tutorial, I just learned how to kite and b-hop, and it really helped me taking out stronger monsters.
Awesome guide and an incredible display of skill, pretty in depth such as topics like downward shooting through door window, bhopping and trap placements.
I'm really happy to see some in dept guide and fresh guide for ranger. Playing with the class since the game lauched free and I was so overhelmed and tired from all those guides for rogue, druid and cleric. Ty, mate! Great content.
Wow, what a great guide! I'm getting back into the game after a year or so off, and a lot has changed. This was great to help me refamiliarize myself with this class. So far I've enjoyed playing as a rogue and a fighter, but my ranger was my very first character back in the alphas and when the game first came out with the blacksmith launcher. It felt a little daunting getting started again lol
Played ranger since PT2 this is the first time I've played the game where all the bows seem useful. I used to main longbow exclusively but I'll pick up any of them now.
This is exactly what I needed, I knew the, I’d say intermediate way to build a ranger but this gets into the details that’s I’ve been looking for. For example getting my strength to at least 15, I’ve heard people say otherwise but they don’t have the hours you have. I would love to see another video on ranger. Masterfully crafted video dude.
the reason i watched this vid was for all the things you mention at the end of this one lol, this guide is kinda incomplete without them. dont take this without praise though, great video with what you put in.
amazing, amazing, great guide here, thank u very much for such a quick and thorough video, u get straight to the point on everything without wasting anyones time whatsoever. awesome job, first time seeing ur videos but im definitely going to watch more of ur stuff.
Great guide! Would def love follow up videos covering things such as building budget kits to min / max stats within a certain budget, as well as maybe covering gear selections based on the bow your running, for example needing more Dex for longbow (which you touched on here with the action speed comment). My biggest problem so far on ranger has been survivability and letting people close the gap on me. The bunny hopping section will be really helpful and I'll have to try it out.
You know Soapy.. I watched the whole video and yet I’m still not wiping squads and hitting 360s with my Windlass. Thought that was kind of weird. Anyway… seriously awesome video man, super helpful even to someone like me with a good amount of time played
One point to keep in mind. The squire gear when Soapy was explaining what stats to go for was common grade and not poor. The 2 strength helps a lot more than 1 per piece.
You should have mentioned the Armor Pen stats on the bows. The Longbow does MASSIVE damage not only because of the Weapon Damage, but because it does 15% more of that damage over the Survival Bow to other players (bad explanation, but should be pretty obvious what I mean lol). That will make a world of difference against any PDR build.
If I can add one little advice that makes it much more comfortable playing as ranger, is to make a custom crosshair, cuz the default one from D&D is hard to see on some surfaces (lit wall, ice caverns). Many screens have integrated options for crosshair, or nVidia filters for example.
Absolutely love this video!! Definitely gonna be trying to push myself on ranger. Only thing that I'm slightly confused about, is in an ideal scenario, what should my inventory look like? How many traps is typical for a 1v3 and how many healing items am I trying for? Other than my confusion on that, you did a great job explaining this super thoroughly to someone pretty new to this game!! Thank you so much
Want to see guide how to counter corners, doorways and pillars. It's good to know how to kite and stuff, when guys pushing you. But in the gear lobby I see 99% people just hold close corner in doorway or something like pillars with judgment, sprint, or Achilles strike.
All the people complaining about the recent Fighter buffs seem to be saying "Now the Fighter even does the Ranger's job better than the Ranger!" but they seem to be forgetting that the Ranger gets all sorts of perks that make them so much better with the bow than Fighter could ever be.
20:11 thanks man, didn't know, i'm now bhopping in blackmyth wukong too! (Source games have bhopping not unreal games 😅, though fortnite also has bhop)

this video is going to single handedly reignite the "nerf ranger" reddit posts from 9 months ago
feel like fighter is just the better ranger now though since the weapon mastery change in the recent hotfix
100%, Great guide!

Rangers have traps haha

This video is incredibly designed, and will be enormously well renowned.
Instructions unclear. Currently playing longsword with windlass
If only Ranger could be a Long sword bro.
This was so well made! You know a video is good when its an hour long and feels like 20 mins by the time its over. Thanks for this

YOU are very kind for giving us this enormously well made guide ^^
I only wish more guides like this existed for other classes

Everyone can blame Soapy when there's a flood of new Ranger players...
Superb guide. Really enjoy the points you made about sens and some mechanics that are shared with other games 👍
I don't even play ranger but boy am I hyped for this video
bro youre a good ass teacher , we need more teachers like u in schools
30:06 “i will never hit my own trap” *steps in his trap* 😂😂
shhh
I saw that too LMAOOOO
so far, the best ranger guide video ever. thanks!
just started my adventure with the game and the class damn its so helpful thx brother more content from ranger would be appreciated
Pls more of this type of content! I have 800 hours on ranger and didn't know heaps of stuff before watching this video.
Great video, I've been loving your content! Watching you play has astronomically improved my skills as a ranger.
Sick video, I haven't seen anyone explain b-hop in a video like that. Super helpful
Instruction clear inspiration gained. I did the body block on trap before watching the video, im a natural ranger. ❤
This guide is on another level! I am a ranger main and learned a ton from watching your streams keep it up dude!
Dude this is such a helpful video! Ive been trying to get better at b-hopping but i had no idea you could do more than one at a time 🤯
Immediately hit subscribe at 12:14 when I heard DGD🤘🏼 thanks for the video Soapy!
Really great guide. Just reassured me I am naturally gifted at the art of Ranger.
Excellent video sir. I know this took a long time to compose and edit, much appreciated brother
Mummy spiders are really good for hiding traps in because their ragdoll is VERY consistent across all players.
Kiss the ladder in the aim trainer is a VIBE
Appreciate the video dude, would be dope if u would make a ranger build guide that goes through different kits for different budgets
💯
Great guide! Would def love follow up videos covering things such as building budget kits to min / max stats within a certain budget, as well as maybe covering gear selections based on the bow your running, for example needing more Dex for longbow (which you touched on here with the action speed comment). There will def be a part 2!
You know Soapy.. I watched the whole video and yet I’m still not wiping squads and hitting 360s with my Windlass. Thought that was kind of weird. Anyway… seriously awesome video man, super helpful even to someone like me with a good amount of time played
Definitely should make a kit video, really curious what kinds of builds you prefer
Waiting on part 2, you are amazing love the streams and the guide is next level bro! GJ keep it up!
EXCELLENT video. Love the deep dive into decision making and spacing. gonna try some 1v3s and put myself to the test
Best ranger guide ever. Thanks!
i dont play dnd yet this made me understand so much more from streams i legit felt like i took a master class
Great video and I love the in-depth explanation of your thought process. I feel like a lot of "How to" videos for DaD are too high level.
Subscribed as soon as he compared dark and darker to weight training 😂
1 hour of information from the ranger god himself LETSGO
This video was amazing, thank you so much for the information!! I hope we see more video guides and gameplay
Incredibly well made guide! Thank you.
This was excellent, thanks!
Thanks for doing this man, a super endowed move of you
Incredibly well done video/guide! I look forward to future videos!!!
Oh lord have mercy, I'm bout to BUST! Thanks for the video you extremely well endowed man!
I used this guide and grew 4 inches, 10/10 recommend!
Thank you for this guide
Thank you for teaching me how to kite!!
Really good video on ranger! b-hop and everything! nipple as an elf ;)
and this is coming from a druid player.
As a ranger, you are an inspiration for me.
Favorite Dark and Darker UA-camr.

a well-endowed ranger guide
thanks i just went on a university course on ranger
Stairs are pretty good for traps as well, you can position the trap to clip into the stairs and use the shadow the steps cast as well
I have the exact same mouse as you man, absolute banger
very thought through guide, excellent
Absolutely love this video!! Definitely gonna be trying to push myself on ranger.
Only thing that I'm slightly confused about, is in an ideal scenario, what should my inventory look like? How many traps is typical for a 1v3 and how many healing items am I trying for?
Other than my confusion on that, you did a great job explaining this super thoroughly to someone pretty new to this game!!
Thank you so much
Ideally more traps the better. You can make due with 4 in 1v3 if you play more patient and campy
@@SrslySoapy Thanks so much!!
I feel like this fits quite a lot to Bard too, at least when it comes to spacing and kiting
Thanks for the guide soap, love ya
Been waiting on this one🙏🏼🎉
this is the ranger guide i need ty!
Bro the commenting and coaching 🔥
Landed here thanks to Pausenapfel Stream on Twitch
I really want a second guide I learned a lot although I'm playing for a long time
stunning an brave, may this video find the DaD algo
Great vid dude. Subscribed 😊
In depth guide good stuff, I will blame you when the average ranger is 200% more annoying going forward!
The ranger infux is going to be crazy… Looks like im going to be playing rogue for a month or two 😭
Wow, I thought I was kinda getting good at the game but I changed my mind after 58 mins of watching this.
Amazing Guide" Thanks
easiest sub of my life this video is amazing
oh no, the dungeon is about to turn into a ranger bhopping nightmare.
God bless our souls.
Protection of potion. Got it!

Started playing ranger recently to take a break from bard. Timing couldn't have been better lol
Nice video! We want more!!
beautiful vid, plz more content like this arigato
copious amounts of endowment in this video. thank you soapy
huge work, thanks
All the people complaining about the recent Fighter buffs seem to be saying "Now the Fighter even does the Ranger's job better than the Ranger!" but they seem to be forgetting that the Ranger gets all sorts of perks that make them so much better with the bow than Fighter could ever be.
20:11 thanks man, didn't know, i'm now bhopping in blackmyth wukong too!
(Source games have bhopping not unreal games 😅, though fortnite also has bhop)
Good stuff, the old rhetoric "ranger op" got tired when it became one of the harder classes to solo.
Nah, hitscan bow, nuclear bomb traps, 500 ms, easiest class Kappa
Every class deserves an in depth guide to this level. Except druids. Fuck em.
