Thanks for sharing this, In my opinion you are a brilliant artist and have got good sense of composite work. It helped me a lot in a project to achieving the real shadow of the character.
Anybody know how to include a simple choker in this? If I choke my chromakey'd character inwards by 2 pixels, you get a 2px gap between the shadow and his feet.
Cool! How do you do that hair trick in Nuke? And the brown doesn't seem to be effecting the outline of her face (when she moves her face) how did you do that?
i have a problem in my after effect my fish eye effect has problem when i use that and i will export it will be black screen export how can i fix that. i does not any solution for fix
How do you make the masks appear in the bottom left corner? They just magically appear there after we select the points :o EDIT: Had to figure out that we're supposed to press "M"... I followed your tutorial but my footage doesn't end like yours.. I mean, I don't even know what happened to mine, it just stayed cut with the mask I made. I literally followed every step you did! Does the mask move if the head and hair moves? I'm assuming it doesn't :\
Thanks for the question! For the mask to move with the head and hair, you will need to manually keyframe the masks to move with them or track them with a planar tracker. - Jonathan
Hello! Great question! In the case of this tutorial, we have an adjustment layer as the layer that generates the shadow, and adjustment layer needs another layer below it for it to work. If we isolate the adjustment layer in another precomp, it would not be able to affect the background plate. -Danasa
Hi! We are creating a black and white matte of the hair detail, which can then be used as an alpha. In the case of the tutorial; we used Luma Matte to pass down that matte to another layer as an alpha channel. Let us know if this helps!
This shadow trick is one of the most useful keying workflow I`ve seen. Thanks for that.
Glad it was helpful!

Excellent!! Something I have been looking for. Is it possible to achieve this in Premiere Pro?
I'd like to see Fusion, if you know it.

5:06 Wouldn’t you typically precomp the elements instead of parenting them?

Does that hair key have alpha or only hair have been preserved ????
