The way you explain it in your other video, I was finally able to find my mixed voice! But I know I’m straining and having a hard time trying to fix it on my own. Thank you for this!

Hello Jay, I’m a girl and I really want to improve my singing skills, during so much time I was searching for vocal coaches on UA-cam but none of them were able to explain it well, then I found you. Now I understand my mistakes more clearly and I can identify them. Thanks to you I’m very motivated and I will start my practice program today

This guy helped me sing my D4 to G4 without pulling chest. Although it still sounds like it's my first time singing but it is a start. I can go for an A4 bit it still sounds wimpy.

    • @leonardoflorindoa.rodrigue5415

Don't worry about it, I was stuck for a long time between G#2 and G#4, my note would always break at A4, unless I screamed or jumped up a ladder to get there, imagine how disappointed I was. Even though my singing teacher called me a tenor, I couldn't reach A4? I beat myself up a lot for that hahahaha
For some time now I've been practicing my falsetto, and practicing a lot to at least make it stronger. Until recently I caught a cold and my throat got really bad, but I kept practicing a little and out of nowhere I felt the famous high-pitched portal open hahaha
It sounded like a falsetto, but it was too high and full-bodied to be just a falsetto, so from then on I discovered my head voice, but it was still very tense and with the glottis very pressed, so it was a little breathy although a part of the song sounded really strong, it lacked good support in the diaphragm like she told me when I was learning falsetto. So, for the last two days I've been able to sing and lower the pressure in my throat, mixing my voice a little and going well beyond A4 hahaha
The point is not to give up, and little by little you'll find your way to position your glottis and open your throat with your soft palate (the so-called yawn), without having to open your mouth too much. It's difficult but not impossible, I assure you. Train your falsetto. I know it's embarrassing, but it's a very important and essential resource for strengthening your muscles. Pay attention to your jaw too, the apple of your cheek , the part of the mouth that many people call the mask voice.

Thanks your videos helped me a lot.I started using higher voice placement and I get rid lots of strain. My question is if I practice Elvis or Sinatra low pitch songs I have to lower voice placement a bit to get more “beefy” sound, but still I’m trying to keep heady “ring” to sounds more resonant….Is that all right or in your course you teach to use one placement for all songs?

How come when I look up how to sing high notes, it says to sing at the bridge of the nose and high notes is slightly above where the third eye would be? One episode of Kelly Clarkson she pointed to vocal placement she sings from is the bridge of her nose, stomach and her ear. I don't think she meant at the same time. What are your thoughts Jay? Maybe you can make a video about that. I thought the complete high placement vibrates at the bridge of the nose.

It's a feel. It's really hard to explain mix voice in video form. Start low by making it sound twangy and nasal. And try to go up and down with that voice. It'll sound bad but that's how it is when you're starting.
