Thank you for posting this - Ah, the memories! I was about 12-13 years old when this came out. I used to play this with my father, he loved the game, we loved the Stooges. Sadly my father passed away in 1996 and watching this gives me memories of him, memories of me playing this with him. The visuals, the sounds, it really take me back. Makes me a bit sad, but also good memories.

It's funny and extremely impressive for five minutes, and it especially was if you saw it on any of the original platforms it released on. So, it makes a good in-store demo, but after those five minutes? It gets a bit old. Still, the voice clips sound great, and those digitized stills are sometimes awesome, and many times completely terrifying.
I used to rent that game at the now-defunct Title Wave and, sadly, couldn't get the best ending! But, at least the voice clips of the now-deceased three actors from the best-known Three Stooges shorts from the 1930s to the 1940s are still entertaining! Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk!

For the record, these are the different endings: Less than $5000 -- Ma loses the orphanage At least $5000 but less than $10,000 -- Ma keeps the orphanage At least $10,000 but less than $20,000 -- Ma keeps the orphanage and makes repairs $20,000 and over -- Ma keeps the orphanage and makes repairs and gratefully marries her three beautiful daughters to the Stooges [Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo!] :D
Surprised there hasn't been an attempt in recent years to make a Three Stooges game. Given how advanced technology has gotten since the release of this game, with the right people you could probably make a great game.
this is a confusing game to follow even though this is the second time i have watched a playthrough, it is such a mishmash of stuff! good job making it threw. can't wait to see what you have next.

It's pretty difficult, though. The $20,000 this playthrough earned was how much you need for the best ending with the Stooges getting the girls with them.
@@Charly9631e So have I. The cracker eating contest is where you can rack up LOTS OF $$$$. The best I've ever done on this part of the game is $3,660. The key to doing well is to try to snatch the crackers right out of the open oyster shells, especially when there's only one cracker remaining, because you earn an additional $60 each time you're successful ($10 for the crackers plus another $50 for finishing the bowl) ;-)
This was not a good game, while it's true to the Three Stooges it's just not fun to play. Still weird that the 2012 movie used the plot from this game though.
I didn't know of this game till it was talked about in a 2000s issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Great to see it played here and with the best ending. I know worst ending is: Less than $5000 I. Fleecem dispossesses that orphanage. Normal Ending: $5000 would mean enough to cover the overdue rent. Good ending: $10000 will cover the overdue lease and also repair the damage. Best ending $20000 or more: having enough for the matron's daughters to get hitched with those stooges. ^^

I used to play the C64 port. Agreed 100%, fun for a couple of minutes.

This game gets too much hate (well the NES version at least). I find it to be a very challenging and (when you get the hang of it all) fun game.
To be fair, it was meant to be a game made for 8 bit computers

You know what the funniest part in this game is? It's the screaming from the Cracker eating contest. I have always found it really really funny.

Ironically, the movie also has the three stooges making money to save the orphanage that helped raise them.

Hard to believe this game was developed by the same company responsible for the Back to the Future games on NES.
This was not a good game, while it's true to the Three Stooges it's just not fun to play.
