- Today I'm taking you a few years back to a beautiful Winter day in 2017, it's been snowing the day before and we're coasting through some freshly shining wintery landscapes, while carrying a freight train southbound heading to Trieste / Italy.

We'll start on a sunny winter day in Salzburg, on the Tauern Railway from Dorfgastein to Mallnitz - Obervellach. This route was seen before, but is at least as spectacular in winter than it is in summer.

Congratulations for this short video and the ride in AUSTRIA ALPS. Splendid the landscapes with snow between the OSTEREICH BUNDESLAND SALZBURG AND KARNTEN. Curious this train.who do not stop at the stations as BAD GASTEIN.

Leider nein, wie man sieht war aber das Wetter in Kärnten ohnehin nicht sehr schön.

ich habe viele Bahnerinnerungen rund um Gastein. Aber... dauert die tunnelfahrt nach Kärntnen wirklich nur ein paar minuten? In meiner Erinnerung war das viel länger! oder gibt es weitere Tauerntunnel ferner???

Unfortunately not. The weather was quite bad down low, so I only started recording when there suddenly was such nice weather in the Gasteinertal

why r the tracks barricaded thereby blocking beautiful view of the beautiful countryside, houses and small streets. due to this barricading there is no incentive to watch the video to just see the tracks.

Unfortunately these ugly walls are being built all around Austria, to protect the people from the noise of the trains.
