Was so shocked when I looked at the views… not that they matter. But this is amazing quality and what an achievement! The world deserves to see. Well done.
What a great film, stumbled across by accident and glad I did. What an absolute bloody legend you are Cal. I've just taken up paddle and looking forward to a few little adventures. Really inspired by this. ❤
Thank you Cal, It feels a little less futile knowing there are people like you. I share your passions half a world away. I started a not for profit this year to tackle the remote shorelines of Vancouver Island Canada, this year I managed to remove 6-7 tons of plastic on a 28 day paddleboard expedition. Looking to to expand that to 3 months next year. Love your Vids, top quality.
Thank you so much for your comment! Huge congrats and kudos to you for starting a not-for-profit and collecting SO much plastic - that's phenomenal! Really inspiring. Hope we can paddle together one day. Thank you again.
I have experience of shorter expeditions, but the scale of your journey was mind-boggling. Loved the reality of the filming, it captured the journey wonderfully. I was emotionally involved with your challenges. It was also so heart-warming to see the kindness of strangers. And the thoughtfulness of people involved in the beach and canal clean-ups.
Thanks so much for your comment :) the kindness of strangers was a huge source of comfort and motivation for me during the expedition too. People can be really wonderful :) enjoy your adventures! Thank you
Wow 😳 Such an extra incredible SUP journey raising awareness and funds for such vital causes. Cal, your genuine passion and love for it really shone through. Utterly stunning cinematography too. Huge congratulations team 🌍💚
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your comment :). The cinematography (apart from the rubbish selfie stuff!) was by James Appleton - he's so very talented and I'm so fortunate to be able to work with him. Thank you again
Wow. That was totally amazing. The strength of character and pure guts to undertake this journey was nothing short of inspirational. I found it to be emotionally charged watching you go through different phases on your journey. Congratulations on your success, to be the first person to do this on a sup board. Congratulations on the great production too, it was really well put together. I wish more people would find this video and watch it so you could have a fraction of the recognition you deserve. Much kudos 🙏
How have i not found this wonderful film before ? I cycled Lands End to John a groats over 9 days i had times when the pain was so bad but like you managed to finish . Minds are amazing my daughter has been suffering with depression for 5 years its so hard to see and understand . Thank you for sharing your sorry and Sarah would be so happy for you x
You are truly an inspirational person!! Never stop the dream within yourself. Sorry to hear about your friend she’ll be looking down at you in every step of your life . Stay strong ❤
I was so moved y your journey. I made a journey around the coast of the UK on my bike in 2011 at a time when I was struggling with my own mental health. I wanted to speak out at a time when it wasn't done. People were amazingly supportive and generous to me also. This brought back so many memories and similar feelings. Your friend would be so proud of you. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story Cal. :)
This is such a touching story. I'm impressed by your passion and strength. It is encouraging to see the people in the video who are concerned about our environment and our planet. Thank you!👍
Wow. Inspirational. One of those great examples where the journey is more important than the destination. The scenery is so contrasting and Beautiful in different ways. Doing things that are big and difficult with potential failure shape you. Really enjoyed this content. Thank you
You are a passionate and very gutsy lady 🙏 what an inspirational journey, Mother Nature is struggling and we all have a responsibility to clean up our act and everyone has a small part to play so the oceans continue to heal and rejuvenate. Your best friend would of been so proud of you 🙌
Remarkable filming for this fabulous adventure. As a paddle boarder I especially appreciated it. A big thank you, Cal. P.S I also pick up plastic garbage out of the sea and off the beach in northeast Brazil where I stay.
Congratulations on an absolutely fantastic video. Beautiful photography. Well done on being the first to take on this super tough expedition. I'm sure there will be plenty of followers.
This is fascinating, what a woman and incredible beautiful journey. Just seeing Cal speaking on those alone times, I know we'd hit it off :D. I am doing bit by bit more to help however I can. Fighting for nature, for animals and to protect this unique planet and its unlikely conditions for life and lie itself.. damn, I can't see a more valuable way to spend one's life. Didn't think of SUP as a means to fight for causes, but now I have a new source of inspiration. And just as a side note, as someone who struggles with depression (in my case as a vegan aware of the state of the world), I...I do understand.
Such an inspiration, what an amazing achievement, a journey which acknowledges important issues. I love to go on sup adventures but this has just made me want to do more, well done to you Cal. ❤
You are amazing human, I've got tears in my eyes. I'm struggling with depression my whole life and from time to time got very difficult period ; You did amazing job and thank you for that. Grat movie as well ❤❤❤
What an outstanding journey and achievement. I have had some adventures in my time, but your adventure and the sentiments and motivations behind it were next level. Very candid and honest story, the filming and editing was excellent and was a real treat to watch, thank you for sharing.
I followed your journey at the time and loved hearing about what you were trying to do. Raising awareness for the plastic on our Oceans and waterways amongst other things. The fact you have been back to various places since to continue the education is inspiring. Cracking film that really captures your trip - though I expect doesn't really show the pain and exhaustion you must have endured :) Looking forward to seeing your future projects.
Thank you so much, Nick. There was quite a lot of pain and exhaustion! But some truly incredible parts too - they're the bits that stick with me years later. Thank you again :)
Saw you at the Camp House all those years ago and just watched your video and saw myself in the beer garden! Well done on your expedition, that takes some real grit...
This was so inspiring. There’s something about British female adventures, so humble, quietly strong and determined. You try ugly are incredible. I have been thinking a while about organising female outdoor get together mixed with litter picks and after visiting your website I am going to set some dates and get organising. Thank you so much for sharing with us you incredible journey
Amazing expedition. Im fairly new to SUP, have isups and awaiting for a rigid board. I have always dreamt of doing SUP around the island i am from. Watching this video made me feel more inspired. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, your cause and your love for the Ocean, Animals, SUP and your Friends.
It’s people like your good self that inspire lesser mortals like me to try (and succeed) at challenges that l once thought were beyond me. You give the green light, the OK, if you will, for me to make it happen.
Absolutely fantastic work, and what a journey it must have been for you! We need to arrange some sort of a massive relay paddle where we cover as much of the british waterways as possible, cleaning up the litter as we paddle.
I just found your docs and binge watched them all in one night. I've got into kayaking recently and want to take on some of these longer solo trips, I think my first will be the Caledonian canal or circumnavigating the Isle of Wight. Great vids, keep it up!
Thank you so much, really appreciate your comment. Best of luck with your adventures! The Caledonian Canal is really special, I hope you love it! Definitely take a trolley for the locks ;) thanks again and best wishes to you :)
Wow that's amazing, so inspiring....and absolutely beautiful!! Can I ask a question? why the channels and not the coast of Wales up to Scotland? I don't understand much, so I was wondering...
Amazing achievement, what a privilege to enjoy the film of your journey. I am appalled at the amount of rubbish you found, we really don't deserve this place.
Ambitious journey, much like her film “Scotland Ocean Nation” paddling the entire length of the coast of Scotland. Her choice of a SUP for these adventures does seem a bit gimmicky though - a kayak would have been just as adventurous, more efficient, safer, and far more survivable in case of unexpected rough sea conditions. The only reasoning I can fathom is that it’s a “well no one else has done that before” mindset. It makes for unnecessary risk and greater reliance on outside help if you need rescue, although it is evident that chase craft to film the journey were close at hand.
Took me a few years. I had a really great mentor who is very knowledgeable and helped me a lot. I've read a lot of books, done a lot of research into local tides, and I use a brilliant app called Navionics, without was absolutely invaluable.
I had support on land for most of the journey. My boyfriend is the photographer and drone operator who made this film, he was often on land in my van. There were periods of time when he couldn't join - I had a lot of lovely friends and family meet me with food and water then! I also had periods of time when I camped, which was great fun, but a lot more to carry. I always had a bivvy bag and sleeping bag and enough food and water for a couple of days when I was out to sea, in case I had to come in at an inaccessible beach and shelter there for a few nights.
Wait a minute. I’ve just started the vid and have had to do an adjustment in scale. What seemed a swimming cormorant was, in fact, a standing adult paddle boarder. Gulp!
Hi Cal, What a fantastic achievement, well done!! I think I met you on the water as you were approaching Godrevy (6 May at around 3pm acc to my camera), I was leading a sea kayak group from Portreath to Hayle and we stopped for a brief chat when you said you were heading around Great Britain. I have a very very hazy still photo of you, which I will email to you. That mist was creepy and the swell rolling in was crashing wildly further in, so it was interesting planning to land at Hayle. I think I may know of Sam too, we've met paddling around Land End on a couple of occasions. Here is a link to my video of that trip, but I can't see you in the video clips. ua-cam.com/video/Ux3rjo2wppk/v-deo.html Cheers, Alan

You're such an inspiration. Amazing achievement in the name of two extremely important causes. 👏👏

Thank you so much, Louis.
Right - feels like this should be on national geographic

Most cinematic sup board adventure I’ve ever seen. Coming from a film student. Might be one of my goals to make one of these some day. Props to all!
This was an amazing adventure, an amazing film, and amazing causes to fight for ! Thank you so much for making this video !

This is such a touching story. I'm impressed by your passion and strength.

This really inspires me to SUP even more and to collect plastic etc. in the sea. Love from Norway 😊
OMG How brave you where going around the headland at night. Well done.
Thank you! It was terrifying! But feel much more comfortable paddling at night now, and have had some wonderful night paddles since :)
Wow. Inspirational. One of those great examples where the journey is more important than the destination. The scenery is so contrasting and Beautiful in different ways. Doing things that are big and difficult with potential failure shape you. Really enjoyed this content. Thank you
Speechless, utterly speechless. What an achievement and such bravery..

Lovely film and huge well done! 🎯😎🙌🏼 totally feel similar benefits to my mind and soul being on the water…🌊💜
Ah thank you - there's nothing quite like it is there :)
Saw you at the Camp House all those years ago and just watched your video and saw myself in the beer garden! Well done on your expedition, that takes some real grit...

Amazing journey ... amazing working cleaning our water

wow wow wow, amazing. So inspirational. I hope you've submitted to Banff ocean film festival (at least a shorter version!).

Amazing achievement, what a privilege to enjoy the film of your journey. I am appalled at the amount of rubbish you found, we really don't deserve this place.
Bravo vous êtes courageuse et merci, les gens sont irrespectueux et sales
Beautiful film and you are a total inspiration :)
Thank you Jules xx
I’m from Atlantic Canada and our beaches have little to no plastics. A lot of places have banned plastic bags. Hopefully it stays that way.
Fantastic film- when are you doing a book?
Ah thank you! I've been writing the book for years! It's almost finished... :)
Brave 💪💪💪💪💪

Who is Sarah? Awesome adventure watching from Massachusetts.
Try watching with the sound on 👍
Those are cool paddles for picking up rubbish.
For sure - Starboard includes a litter picker with all its paddles! Really cool :)
how did you learn to work out tides ?
Took me a few years. I had a really great mentor who is very knowledgeable and helped me a lot. I've read a lot of books, done a lot of research into local tides, and I use a brilliant app called Navionics, without was absolutely invaluable.
did you hae a support group with you , i see alot drone fotage , but dont see you carrying alot on your bord. such as water , food. And warm clothes.

I've never been compared to a swimming cormorant before and I take that as a huge compliment! Haha thanks Henry.
Was honestly looking for a couple tips and inspiration on SUP boarding, but at 22 min mark she started crying about water then I just zoned out 😂
🥰
страшная как жизнь моя..😄😄😊
You managed to turn a 47yr old bloke into a weepy mess at one point there. That aside wow what an achievement, well done you. 👏👏
ah thank you so much. No shame in weeping! (I tell myself regularly:) ) Thank you xx
1 abo de plus 🙂
